  • Early 1920s, Joseon film production began with Japanese colonial rule organization and expanded into civilian. These films were influenced by the documentary film what recorded the scenery and the custom also influenced by kino drama that displayed the place of a dramatic incident. So these films developed into the form emphasize on place. At that time, hollywood serial films were popular. So the first Joseon films shooted a picturesque place and a landmark of the city in the background where heros took a risk. In the style stakes, Joseon films looked very similar to Japanese films. shooted long-take and long-shot, it had rhythm with narration of benshi and emphasized on visual excitation by using color. Early 1920s Joseon films which were similar to Japanese films changed from Japanese style to Hollywood style caused by Na woon-kyu's .

  • Melt blending of Bisphenol A polycarbonate (PC) and poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) was carried out over the entire composition range. The mixing time was varied up to 90 min. The resulting samples were analyzed by FT-IR, DSC, XRD, DMTA, $^{1}H NMR$, and SEM. The process of transesterification between the two polymers and their resulting compatibilization were observed. The behaviors of the PTT-rich and PC-rich blends were different and an equilibrium was found to exist. Peculiar behavior, which was different from that of the PTT-rich and PC-rich blends, was exhibited by the 50/50 (PTT/PC) blend.

  • Polyacryloylcephalexine and polymethacryloylcephalexine were prepared by the reaction of polyacryloylchloride or polymethacryloyl chloride with cephalexine. The antimicrobial activities of these polymeric drugs were investigated by the common twofold dilution technique and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of polymeric durgs was also examined. Polyacryloylcephalexine revealed an excellent antibacterial activity against Micrococcus luteus ATCC 9341, Escherichia coli ESS, Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Mycobacterium phlei IFO 3158, Klebsiella pueumouiae KCTC 1560, Escherichia coli KCTC 1039, Salmonella typhimurium KCTC 1925. • Understanding the behavior of transgenes introduced into oocyte or embryos is essential for evaluating the methodologies for transgenic animal production. To date, many studies have reported the production of transgenic pig embryos with, however, low efficiency in environment of blastocyst production. The aim of present study was to determine the expression and duration of transgene transferred by intracytoplasmic sperm injection-mediated gene transfer (ICSI-MGT). Embryos obtained from the ICSI-MGT procedure were analysed for the expression of GFP and then for the transmission of the transgene. Briefly, fresh spermatozoa were bound to exogenous DNA after treatment by Triton X-100 and Lipofectin. When ICSI-MGT was performed using sperm heads with tails removed, the yield of blastocyst (25.3%), treated with Lipofectin (18.8%) and Triton X-100 (19.2%) were observed. Treatments of Lipofectin or Triton X-100 did not further improve the rates of blastocysts. Moreover, the apoptosis rates of embryos were obtained from the control and LIpofectin groups (8.7%, 9.7%, respectively), but were significantly higher in the Triton X-100 group (13.0%). Our results demonstrated that ICSI-MGT caused minimal damage to oocytes that could develop to full term. Moreover, the embryos derived by ICSI-MGT have shown prolonged exogenous DNA expression during preimplantation stage in vivo. However, more efforts will be required to improve the procedures of both sperm treatments cause of high frequency of mosaicisms.

  • The transesterification of dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) with 1,3-propanediol (PDO) was investigated in the presence of catalyst, titanium (IV) butoxide (TBO), at 175~190 $^{\circ}C$ . The degree of transesterification reaction was measured by the output of methanol which was distilled from the reactor. The amount of methanol increased as the reaction temperature, molar ratio and catalyst concentration increased. The observed overall rate of the transesterification was third order; first order with respect to DMT, PDO, and the concentration of catalyst, respectively. Using calculated rate constants, the activation energy for transesterification was 26.93 kcal/mole. The melting temperature of bis(2-hydroxytrimethyl) terephthalate (BHTMT) was 85.2$^{\circ}C$ and heat of fusion 141.3 J/g.

  • The optimal conditions of enzymatic hydrolysis for preparation of rapid salted and fermented anchovy sauce (SFAS) using various pretenses such as trypsin, chymotrypsin, crude enzyme from squid liver and viscera, Alcalase, Neutrase and Protamex were studied. SFAS prepared with squid viscera had higher level of VBN (173.6 mg/100 g) when stored for 70 days than other samples, and peroxide values were almost equal among all samples during fermentation period. Total amino acids and nonprotein nitrogenous compounds remarkably increased as SFAS treated with Alcalase or Protamex which exhibited higher the hydrolysis rate of $57\%$ at 60 day than others. The optimal pHs of trypsin, chymotryosin, Alcalase, Neutrase and Protamex on anchovy actomyosin were 7.5, 6.5, 6.5, 7.0 and 5.0, respectively. Optimal temperatures of trypsin, chymotryosin, Alcalase and Neutrase were 55, 45, 60 and $55^{\circ}C$, respectively. Otherwise, Protamex activity increased as temperature increased from 20 to $70^{\circ}C$. Protamex had higher $K_m$ (3.545) and $V_{max}$ value (2.688) than others. Protamex affected less by NaCl had $52.5\%$ activity at the fermentation condition of $20^{\circ}C$ and $25\%$ NaCl. Protamex appeared to be very effective for the hydrolysis of crude actomyosin from ancnovy.

  • Background and Objectives: UltimasterTM, a third-generation sirolimus-eluting stent using biodegradable polymer, has been introduced to overcome long term adverse vascular events, such as restenosis or stent thrombosis. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the 12-month clinical outcomes of UltimasterTM stents in Korean patients with coronary artery disease. Methods: This study is a multicenter, prospective, observational registry across 12 hospitals. To reflect real-world clinical evidence, non-selective subtypes of patients and lesions were included in this study. The study end point was target lesion failure (TLF) (the composite of cardiac death, target vessel myocardial infarction [MI], and target lesion revascularization [TLR]) at 12-month clinical follow up. Results: A total of 576 patients were enrolled between November 2016 and May 2021. Most of the patients were male (76.5%), with a mean age of 66.0±11.2 years. Among the included patients, 40.1% had diabetes mellitus (DM) and 67.9% had acute coronary syndrome (ACS). At 12 months, the incidence of TLF was 4.1%. The incidence of cardiac death was 1.5%, MI was 1.0%, TLR was 2.7%, and stent thrombosis was 0.6%. In subgroup analysis based on the presence of ACS, DM, hypertension, dyslipidemia, or bifurcation, there were no major differences in the incidence of the primary endpoint. Conclusions: The present registry shows that UltimasterTM stent is safe and effective for routine real-world clinical practice in non-selective Korean patients, having a low rate of adverse events at least up to 12 months.

  • This study was carried out to determine the effect of gamma irradiation (3-20 kGy) on the antioxidant, antimicrobial activities and physical characteristics of Sargassum thunbergii (ST) extracts. When ST powder was treated by gamma irradiation, the yields and total phenolic compounds (TPC) of water extracts were increased, but radical scavenging activities were not changed. When ST extract was irradiated, the TPC and DPPH radical scavenging activities were increased. In addition, gamma irradiation of ST extract decreased viscosity and removed color. These results suggest that gamma irradiation would be a useful method for improving the physical characteristics of ST extract while maintaining native biological activities.
