경유자동차에서 배출되는 NO2/NOX 비율 특성 (Experimental Study on the NO2/NOX Ratio from Exhaust of Diesel Vehicles by Chassis Dynamometer)

  • Nitrogen dioxide ($NO_2$) is an important urban pollutant in Korea. Expecially, diesel vehicles are responsible for the most traffic rated nitrogen oxide ($NO_X$) emission, including nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide ($NO_2$). Though nitrogen oxide ($NO_X$) emission from vehicle was applied a strict enforcement of emission standard, the specific $NO_2$ fraction in $NO_X$ ($NO_2/NO_X$) from various types of diesel vehicles was not understood. In order to investigate the fraction of $NO_2/NO_X$, the vehicle emission study was carried out at the facility of Transport Pollution Research Center (TPRC), National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), Korea. Three different types of diesel vehicles(VAN, SUV, passenger) were tested on the NIER driving mode. The result of $NO_2/NO_X$ ratio was over 0.1 for all test vehicles and the highest $NO_2$ emission was observed at the van vehicle. The observation was showed that the emission trend of $NO_2/NO_X$ for passenger and SUV vehicles were inversely proportional. Also, as the emission standard has been strengthen, the emission rate of $NO_2$ has been decrease.

천연가스 사용 난방 및 산업보일러의 NOx와 CO 배출계수 산정 연구 (A Study on Estimation of NOx and CO Emission Factor from Industrial and Commercial LNG Boilers)

  • This study was conducted for developing the emission factors of nitrogen oxide(NOx) and carbon monoxide (CO) from the combustion boilers burning liquefied natural gas (LNG). These emission factors were compared with those of U.S. EPA and European Environment Agency (EEA). NOx and CO concentration in the flow gas were measured using Kane-May, KM9106 and Thermo Environmental Instruments Inc., 42C-HL. Measurement were conducted at thirty industrial and commercial LNG boilers. Emission factors were calculated on the basis of fuel consumption (kg-pollutant/㎥-fuel burned). NOx concentration at industrial boiler was 14~125 ppm and it was measured as 35~125 ppm at commercial boiler. NOx emission factors of industrial boiler and commercial boiler were 1.84kg/$m^3$ and 2.09kg/$m^3$, respectively. NOx emission factor of commercial boiler was higher than that of industrial boiler. The NOx emission factors estimated in this study were lower than those of U.S. EPA and higher than those of EEA. Average CO emission factor of industrial boiler was 0.65 kg/$m^3$ and at commercial boiler it was 0.70kg/$m^3$, CO emission factor at industrial boiler was lower than that at commercial boiler.

Natural Emission of Nitric Oxide from Agricultural Soil of Corn-field in Eastern North Carolina

  • Natural emissions of NOx from soils were measured at an agricultural corn field during 3 weeks of growing season in summer (from May to June) 1995. This experiment was conducted in an effort to characterize the role of soil NOx on tropospheric ozone formation in rural atmosphere, and understand the natural NOx emission mechanism with respect to soil parameters. NO fluxes were ranged from 3.1 ng Nm$^{-2}s^{-1}$ to 259.0 ng Nm$^{-2}s^{-1}$, and average NO flux during experimental period was found to be 47.6 $\pm$ 50.6 ng Nm$^{-2}s^{-1}$ with 732 number of data. Diurnal variation of NO flux was shown clearly with daytime maximum and nighttime minimum. NO fluxes were correlated with soil temperature. Exponential soil temperature dependency of NO fluxes was found with 0.0160$^{circ}C^{-1} of k and r^2=0.508$, which agrees well to the value estimated at corn fields in eastern United States. The significant increases of NO fluxes from agricultural soil were detected after applying N fertilizers to soil. THe mechanisms attributed to this are enhanced biological nitrification and denitrification. In the view of rural ozone formation, the roles of natural NO emissions are very essential, especially in NOx - limited region such as southern United States.

어선용 디젤엔진의 배출가스 저감 필터 개발과 저감 효율 (Development and efficiency of filter device for the emission reduction from the diesel engine in fishing boat)

  • The performance of five kind adsorbents, which can reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) from the diesel engine occupying 85% of the fishing boat, was carried out and the emission reduction filter was manufactured and evaluated in the adsorption efficiency of the emission gas for 240 KW diesel portable generator. As a NOx emission filter made of mordenite which has an excellent cation exchange capacity was manufactured by ball type adsorbents having excellent specific surface area. The adsorption efficiency of mordenite material applying the emission reduction filter began to show up at the operating time 10 minutes in comparison with the activated carbon and zeolite materials, and it was exposed to continue until 100% capability with passing by 20 minutes. So the adsorption efficiency of the NOx reduction filter consistently maintained at the averaged 80%.

  • 산업의 고도화 및 도시의 집중화로 오염물질의 종류가 다양화 되었으며 여러 가지 오염물질 중에서도 비산 분진, 황산화물(SOx) 등은 연료 중의 특정성분을 제거하거나 연료를 대체하여 그 배출량을 줄일 수 있다. 그러나 질소산화물(NOx)의 경우에는 연료의 문제가 아니라 연소과정에서 반드시 발생되는 특징을 가진 오염물질이다. 이와 같이 환경오염물질의 제거기술에 있어 가장 중요하게 고려되어야 할 사항은 오염가스 제거의 효율성과 경제성이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사무실, 가정 등 주로 실내공기정화를 위하여 NOx 제거를 위한 선 대 평판형 플라즈마 반응기에 자석의 개수에 의한 자계세기 및 자속밀도 시뮬레이션과 도출된 시뮬레이션 결과를 바탕으로 제작된 반응기에 자석을 부가한 NOx 제거에 대한 실험을 하였다. 그 결과 자석을 부가한 경우가 NOx 제거효과에 있어 효율이 좋음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 희박 공연비에서 동작하는 디젤 엔진은 NOx 를 저감시키기 위해서 주기적으로 과농한 분위기를 형성해 주어야 한다. 최근 배기관 내에 환원제로서 경유를 직접 분사하는 HC-LNT 방식이 활발히 연구되고 있다. 이러한 연구는 NOx 저감을 위해 HC 의 농도를 제어하는 기술로서, 실제 배기관내에 HC 가 균일하게 분포하여야 촉매의 정화효율이 향상되므로 HC 를 균일하게 분사하는 방법의 최적화가 가장 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 저압에서 미립화 특성이 양호한 가솔린 흡기포트 분사용 인젝터를 이용하여, 가시화 방법으로 실제 배기관내에서의 환원제 분무 거동 특성을 측정하였고 NOx 정화 특성간의 관계를 실험적으로 비교함으로써, 인젝터의 최적 부착 조건과 분사 조건을 파악하였다.

그래핀 기반 광촉매 담지 세라믹필터에서 질소산화물(NOx)의 제거 (Removal of NOx from Graphene based Photocatalyst Ceramic Filter)

  • V2O5-WO3-TiO2 촉매를 담지하여 그래핀(graphene) 기반 세라믹필터를 제조하였으며, 이를 활용하여 질소산화물(NOx)의 제거실험을 수행하였다. 산화그래핀(graphene oxide, GO)은 흑연(graphite)을 이용하여 Hummer's method에 의해 제조하였고 환원제로 히드라진(N2H4)을 통해 환원 산화그래핀(reduced graphene oxide, rGO)을 제조하였다. 제조된 그래핀을 세라믹필터 표면에 유-무기 하이브리드 원리를 이용하여 코팅하였으며, 여기에 광촉매물질을 담지하였다. 광촉매물질은 바나듐(V), 텅스텐(W), 티타늄(Ti)를 사용하여 sol-gel법에 의해 코팅 후 350 ℃ 소성 공정을 통하여 광촉매담지 세라믹필터를 제조하였다. UV광을 제조된 필터에 조사하여 NOx의 제거 실험을 수행하였으며, NOx의 제거 효율은 기존의 세라믹필터보다 GO 및 rGO가 코팅된 경우가 우수하였다. 이는 코팅된 그래핀에 의한 흡착성의 향상 때문으로 판단되며, 그래핀의 농도가 증가함에 따라 보다 높은 NOx의 제거효율을 확인하였다.

디젤엔진 배기가스중 질소산화물 저감을 위한 금속 산화물 촉매를 이용한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Reduction of Nitric Oxides from the Diesel Engine Exhaust Gas with Metal Supported Oxides Catalysts)

  • In this paper, a number of supported metal oxides and perovskite type catalysts were investigated for the NOx reduction from the diesel engine exhaust gas. All catalysts were made into pellets type with diameter of 3-4 mm alumina(Al$_2$O$_3$) as a supporter. These samples were tested by real diesel exhaust gas which contains CO, hydrocarbons and soot in the temperature range of 150~55$0^{\circ}C$ with the $3300h^{-1}$ space velocity (SV). Among the results, several promising catalysts showed NOx conversion above 50% in the temperature range of 150-35$0^{\circ}C$. From these results supported metal oxides catalysts and perovskite type could be recommended for the practical application to the automobile exhaust treatments.

다양한 귀금속 촉매를 이용한 NOx의 탄화수소 선택적촉매환원 반응 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Reaction Characteristics on Hydrocarbon Selective Catalytic Reduction of NOx Over Various Noble Metal Catalysts)

  • 다양한 귀금속 촉매를 이용한 hydrocarbon selective catalytic reduction 반응특성을 조사하였다. 가장 우수한 활성금속은 Pt, 지지체는 활성금속과 지지체간 강한 상호작용에 의하여 $CeO_2$, $TiO_2$였으며, NOx 전환율은 약 55%를 나타내었다. 활성금속으로서 Pd, Rh, Ag 촉매들은 20% 미만의 전환율을 보였으며, 지지체로서 $SiO_2$, $ZrO_2$ 또한 다른 지지체들보다 저조한 활성을 나타내었다. 조업조건에 따른 촉매의 성능을 조사하기 위하여 환원제의 종류, 양, 산소농도, 공간속도에 따른 실험을 수행하였다. 환원제로서 메탄이 프로판보다 우수함을 확인하였고, 메탄/질소 산화물 비가 증가할수록 성능이 우수하였으며, 산소농도가 증가할수록, 그리고 공간속도가 감소할수록 촉매의 성능은 증가함을 확인할 수 있었다.

EGR 쿨러 Type에 따른 열교환성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Heat Exchange Performance at Various EGR Cooler Types)

  • Nitrogen oxide(NOx) emission reductions are required to meet the strict emission regulations for environmental protection. Most of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation(EGR) system applied to a diesel engine can relatively decrease the NOx at a low cost, but it has a disadvantage in that the PM generation is promoted due to the hot intake air temperature. Thus, high heat exchange efficiency of the EGR cooler is required for an effective removal of NOx. In this study, heat exchange efficiency for various types of heat exchangers used in EGR cooler was measured under same conditions, and determined best heat exchange performance shape depending on type of heat exchanger.
