  • In a turn a century, the skepticism, mysticism and eroticism used to prevail, the people becoming anxious, expectative and doubtful about an oncoming age. The costumes tend to become more exciting and erotic in the fashion. This thesis is on understanding “What would 21 century's clothes be\ulcorner” after analyzing the specific points in an end of the century. The characteristics found from 16th century to 20th century are going to the extremes in the shapes, consistent appearance of bustle style costumes and excessive ornaments which are closely interrelated with one another. I expect the fashion in 21st century would be changed in two ways. Firstly, going to the extremes and stressing on the buttock would be going down in the end of 1999. Secondly, the comfortable clothes highest in function and technology, and also friendly to the environment, might be the main stream, rather then outwardly good looking clothes, because spirit and environment is much more emphasized than the mode by the social impact or pressure in the next era. • As the accuracy in the measurement of cosmological parameters is ever-increasing in this era of precision cosmology, astrophysical constraints on high-redshift universe is also getting tighter. Three dimensional (3D) tomography of the high-redshift (z>~7) universe is expected to be made through the next-generation radio telescopes including various SKA pathfinders and SKA itself, which calls for extensive theoretical predictions. We present our new simulations of cosmic reionization covering the full dynamic range of radiation sources, and also the mock data for the (1) large-scale CMB polarization anisotropy for Planck mission, (2) small-scale, kinetic Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect for South Pole Telescope project, and (3) 21-cm observations. We show that the new constraints on CMB from Planck will constrain the models of reionization significantly, which then should be tested by 3D tomography of high-redshift universe through the 21-cm observations by future radio telescopes.

  • In this research, economic analysis of Integrated Information System for Nano-convergence Industy (hereafter 'NANOIN'), which was developed and has been in operation by Organization of Nano-convergence Industrial Cooperation, is conducted. For this purpose, the research has been carried out in the following order. First, NANOIN user's maximum willingness-to-pay is estimated using contingent valuation method, the number for NANOIN users is estimated using Bass Diffusion Model, and annual benefit from NANOIN is estimated. Next, annual cost from NANOIN is estimated using annual budget for NANOIN related planned activities. Finally, economic value of NANOIN is evaluated using economic analysis applied to the estimated annual NANOIN benefit and cost. From the economic analysis, it is found that NANOIN has some economic value. It is expected that the procedures suggested in this research can help to systematically evaluate economic value for public goods which have not only uncertain benefit from user's side but also uncertain demand just like NANOIN.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a basis for exterior space improving in university campus in terms of upgrading the quality of university education environment by analysing user's cognition and physical feature about campus exterior space. For this, this study was survey six major university students in Busan city about perception of campus exterior space, and analyzes the user's cognition by using natural-language vocabulary analysis for qualitative approach. Next, this study analyzes the physical feature of campus exterior space by investigating user's intensive using spaces and preferred, non-preferred spaces in their universities, then propose the improved direction of campus exterior space by comparing the analyzed data of user's cognition and physical feature. A SPSS20 program is used for the data analysis and the sample sizes are 171 college students.

  • Recently, health care facilities has been rapidly reformed. This reformatioin has been so per vasive that even the newest hospital is rapidly becoming obsolete. Since the health care field is continually evolving, architecture for health must be adapted to the new environments. Today, a society with the emphasis on the broader, interactive scope of grobal markets and grobal communications, pursues the health network as the next step in evolution of health care facilities. Therefore, architectural firms will be forced to develop new skills, services, emphases, and organizational structures in order to respond to the rapidly changing needs and demands. It is our hope to present the possibilities of this healthcare network of the future.

  • Advanced process and integration for future semiconductor devices is approaching the physical limit. The new materials with low dimensional structure have recently attracted great attention due to its expandability for the future electronic devices. In order to apply the materials to future semiconductor devices, the control of carrier scattering is critical issue. That is, the carrier scattering with physical quantity in low dimensional structure significantly modulates the device characteristics. We introduce the role of defect in several future semiconductor materials and devices. The analysis of defect in the structure becomes the most important techniques. In particular, surface defect in nano structures totally controls the device characteristics. The changes imply that the metrology field is leading the future industry for semiconductor.

  • We developed an embedded Object-Oriented Micromagnetic Frame (OOMMF) script schemes for more flexible simulations for complex and dynamic mircomagnetic behaviors. The OOMMF can be called from any kind of softwares by system calls, and we can interact with OOMMF by updating the input files for next step from the output files of the previous step of OOMMF. In our scheme, we set initial inputs for OOMMF simulation first, and run OOMMF for ${\Delta}t$ by system calls from any kind of control programs. After executing the OOMMF during ${\Delta}t$, we can obtain magnetization configuration file, and we adjust input parameters, and call OOMMF again for another ${\Delta}t$ running. We showed one example by using scripting embedded OOMMF scheme, tunneling magneto-resistance dependent switching time. We showed the simulation of tunneling magneto-resistance dependent switching process with non-uniform current density using the proposed framework as an example.

  • Magnetically suspended sensitive gyroscopes (MSSGs) provide an interesting alternative for achieving precious attitude angular measurement. To effectively reduce the measurement error caused by dynamic imbalance, this paper proposes a novel compensation method based on analysis and modeling of the error for a MSSG. Firstly, the angular velocity measurement principle of the MSSG is described. Then the analytical model of dynamic imbalance error has been established by solving the complex coefficient differential dynamic equations of the rotor. The generation mechanism and changing regularity of the dynamic imbalance error have been revealed. Next, a compensation method is designed to compensate the dynamic imbalance error and improve the measurement accuracy of the MSSG. The common issues caused by dynamic imbalance can be effectively resolved by the proposed method in gyroscopes with a levitating rotor. Comparative simulation results before and after compensation have verified the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed compensation method.

  • This paper presents a general analytical model to calculate the characteristics of axial-flux permanent-magnet machines with axis eccentricities. The radial and tangential magnetic flux densities in the air gap under normal conditions were first obtained using a combination of Maxwell's equations and Schwarz-Christoffel (SC) transformation. Next, equations for the radii were deduced to investigate the static/dynamic eccentricities. The back electromotive forces (EMFs) were calculated and compared with those obtained from finite element (FE) analysis. The analytical predictions show good agreement with the FE results. Detection approaches were obtained by comparing with normal conditions, and the analytical model was verified experimentally.
