RC (Reinforced Concrete) member has varying service life due to varying diffusion characteristics with loading conditions even if it is exposed to constant exterior conditions. In the paper, quantitative parameters are obtained through adopting the previous results for effects of compressive, tensile, and cold joint on chloride diffusion in OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) and GGBFS (Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag) concrete. Service life is evaluated in RC simple beam with 10.0m of span through increasing loading from self weight (2.5kN/m) to the loading to cracking moment (5.5kN/m). In OPC concrete without cold joint, service life changes to 89.4% for tensile region and 101% for compressive region with loadings while GGBFS concrete has 80.0% and 106%, respectively. For cold joint area, GGBFS concrete shows much reduced service life to 82~80% in compressive region and 69~61% in tensile region, which is caused by the lower diffusion in normal condition but relatively higher increasing cold joint effect than OPC concrete.

Purpose: This exploratory study was undertaken to analyze the information needs of family members of terminal cancer patients, collected through the telephone counselling service by National Cancer Information Center. Methods: The study included 113 family members of terminal cancer patients who had enrolled at the National Cancer Information Center for the period from June, 2007 through March, 2008 and had agreed to the survey. Results: The subjects (n=113) consisted of grown-up children (n=82) and spouses (n=8) of patients'. Those in their 40's (n=40) and 30's (n=36) accounted for the majority of the sample. The questions raised most were about the information on treatment methods (n=117), management of terminal cancer patients (n=46), terminal cancer patients' life (n=27), deathbed and prediction of remaining life (n=18), hospitalization (n=16), and financial support (n=15). Most of the subjects were satisfied with the telephone counseling services, and 69% of the subjects had come to know about the telephone counseling service via Internet, and 10.6% of them stated that the PR for the service was poor. Conclusion: It is deemed essential for the government to use the mass media for PR of the hospice services, since family members of terminal cancer patients' are less aware of the hospice conducive to enhancement of patients' remaining quality of life, being involued too deeply in their treatment.

This study was carried out to investigate the prevalence of Neospora caninum infection in dairy cow and Korean native cattle(KNC), raised in several Chungnam province. To determine the prevalence of antibodies to N caninum, a total of five hundred fifty six sera were analyzed by indirected fluorescent antibody(IFA) test. Five hundred thirty three sera were collected from fifteen dairy herds and twenty three sera were taken from fourteen KNC herds from December 1999 to November 2000. Seropositive ratio of the dairy cattle sera were individually or herdly tested and showed 64.2% and 93.3%, respectively. It was recorded with 78.6% and 47.8% in KNC. The seropositive ratio of dairy cattle was depended on the size of ranch. It was 92.2, 60.7 and 57.9% at the size of less than thirty, thirty to seventy and more than seventy one cattle, respectively However, it was different from the province of Chungnam. The seropositive ratio to N caninum of dairy cattle were 79.5, 53.1, 61.4 and 31.1% at Gongju, Yeongi, Geumsan and Cheongwon, respectively. It showed difference at the growth stage and sex of cattle. The seropositive ratios of N caninum of calf, heifer, premiparous, multiparous(2nd-5th), multiparous (6>th) and bulls confirmed to 25.0, 50.3, 70.3, 71.2, 50.0 and 50.0%, respectively. It was related with brucellosis in cattle. The infected ones with brucellosis were 75.7% of seropositive ratios to N caninum. The results of this study indicated that N caninum infection was widespread in Chungnam province and confirmed existing with brucellosis in cattle.

Fast development of network technology and digitalization of various kinds of information are accelerating the convergence of between them. Accordingly, an environment for integrated service is needed, where users can be provided with various kinds of information such as voice, video, and text, using even different kinds of devices in heterogeneous networks for communication and broadcasting. In general, enablers integrate several functions to provide with various services in application layer based on IMS in BcN including even different kinds of networks. But in order to receiving convergence services, we must reason the environment of the user through the profiles of the networks and the devices and provide a suitable service to the user. In this paper, we will propose an efficient architecture and functions of a context-aware module which decides the appropriate services based on the profiles in the IMS enabler and its convergence service environments.

As the subscribers of the digital cable and IPTV broadcasting are increasing, the VOD service has established a solid foothold as a profit model of the broadcasting industries. And what's more, the VOD service is emerging as a key application of the N-screen technologies. In the circumstance, broadcasting companies are trying to provide mobile services to improve the satisfaction of their VOD services usage. The paper introduces a VOD mobile app (of a domestic digital cable broadcasting), which includes the functions of promoting the VOD programs printed on a VOD guide book, directly transmitting the information (e.g., book-marking, remote-control signals) generated by the VOD mobile app to a set-top box, and watching the video contents stored in the mobile device on TV.

Clostridium perfringens (C. perfringens) may cause diarrhea and enterotoxemia in adult and young livestock, leading to problems in the production and management of farms. Four hundred fecal samples were collected from 25 goat farms located in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province in the Republic of Korea. Sixteen C. perfringens strains were isolates from fecal samples, and the isolates were identified as type A (n=11) and type D (n=5). Additionally, ${\alpha}$- and ${\varepsilon}$-toxin genes were detected in 16 and 5 strains by PCR, respectively, and the enterotoxin gene was presented in 2 strains. The antibiotic susceptibility test was performed using the disk diffusion method and E-test method. In the disk diffusion method, ampicillin (n=16) and chloramphenicol (n=15) were highly susceptible to 16 C. perfringens isolates. In the E-test method, ampicillin, amoxicillin, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid and meropenem were susceptible to more than 14 of 16 C. perfringens isolates. This study indicates that administration of antibiotics such as ampicillin, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid and meropenem can prevent and treat C. perfringens infections in goats.

This study is a primary research aimed at the information service of public libraries for aged persons who are increasing in our society. In the year 2000, the total population of the world is expected to be up to sixty one hundred millions and the aged population over the age of 65 is also expected to be about 14.3 percent. The population of Korea will be twenty third(23) in its number throughout the world and the population of aged persons is expected to increase to 7 percent according to the United Nation. The service of public libraries should enhance the quality of each individual life and contribute to communities in the conviction of service. The social welfare of aged person is, in a way, to transfer the responsibilities of taking care of aged persons from the family to society. When we plan, consider and offer the equal rights and o n.0, pportunities for them to access to public libraries, then the service of public libraries will be a momentum for the reformation of our society. The public libraries should develop a section for the aged persons as a non-profit organization and further should provide some communication skills, specific a n.0, pparatus for poor eye sight, and some financial su n.0, pport for them.

Neospora caninum (N caninum) is an intracellular protozoa parasite, and its infection is one of the important diseases because it can cause abortion in cattle. This study was conduct to gain epidemiological data for more effective control of the disease. Bloods were collected from 2,162 cattle on 90 farms from February to September 2006. Serums were tested for antibodies to N caninum using ELISA CherdCheck, IDEXX). The dairy breed presented a higher proportion of seropositive results than that of Hanwoo. The estimated proportion of N caninum-positive dairy farms was 71.1 %, but the overall seroprevalence was estimated as 22.8%. The seroprevalence of dairy cattle and Hanwoo were 31.0% and 4.9%, respectively. There was no significant difference in the seroprevalence by age, but the not-intensive managed farms had a high seroprevalence (OR=1.91, p-value<0.01). The antibody rate of cattle with dog(s) was greater than that of those without dogs (OR=2.13, p-value<0.01). There was a significant difference in abortion rate between seropositive cattle and seronegative ones (OR=6.2, p-value<0.01).

Now, in Korea, the performances of the building service equipment relay on the individual superintendent's share for the assessment of performance, fault detection, deterioration diagnosis of the building service equipment. As the result, very different quality of the performance or the durability of equipment is being obtained with his skill and effort and it is also not easy to assess that quality. This finally lead to the waste of labor force and the operating cost due to the high-cost, low-efficiency system. How to construct the N-BMS was considered to save energy, resource and to conserve performance of building service equipment. The FEMIS, facility, energy/environmental management & information system, for building service offer management process integrated with BAS, FMS and EMS and so on.

The impact of global trade on developing countries is a critical subject. Especially in this country, under difficult conditions like political issues with North Korea, achieved a trade surplus of 90.2 billion dollars last year. While the service trade recorded a deficit of 15.7 billion dollars in the same period. According to WTO, services are either the result of a production activity that changes the conditions of the consuming units (transformation services), or facilitates the exchange of products or financial assets (margin services). To unify and compare with the trade and service statistics of countries, they assorted 12 classifications of services like Manufacturing service on physical inputs owned by others, Maintenance and repair service n.i.e., Transport, Travel, Construction, Insurance and pension service, Financial service, Charges for the use of intellectual property n.i.e., Telecommunications, Computer and information services, Other business services, Personal, cultural and recreational services, and Government goods and services n.i.e. Thus, this study is to estimate the international competitiveness of service trade between 2006 and 2015 in Republic of Korea, according to EBOPS 6th. As a result, total service volume of export and import has increased in the last 10 years. Its volume, recently, accounts for 22% of total goods trade. Also the Korean Government can make a supporting policy and decide a supporting business in terms of service trade. Finally, we can find a mutual connectivity within 12 service businesses and between Service and Goods.
