A Study on Coupling Coefficient Between Rail and Reinforcing Bars in Concrete Slab Track (콘크리트 슬래브궤도에서 레일과 철근 사이의 결합계수에 대한 연구)

  • The system of the railway signaling using the track transmits the approved speed to the location of a train and it. Referring to the way of transmitting train control information, there are the one transmitting it to the on-board system of a train using the direct track, the another transmitting it establishing an instrument, and the other transmitting an instrument by a railway track. The one is the method using the direct track as a conductor for composing the part of the track and attaining the information controlling a train by transmitting a signal to the track. It is used for the high-speed railway and the subway. The method using the track attains information by transmitting it to returned information, and the on-board system of a train attains it by magnetic coupling. Because many reinforcing bars on the concrete slab track are used, interaction between a rail and a reinforcing bar that is not produced on ballast track is made. Due to the interaction, the electric characteristic of rail is changed. In the current paper, we numerically computed the coupling coefficient between the rail and the reinforcing bar based on the concrete slab track throughout the model related to the rail and the reinforcing bar using the concrete slab track that is used in the second interval of the Gyeongbu high-speed railway, and we defined the coupling coefficient not changed in the electric characteristic of rail in the condition that there is no interaction between the rail and the reinforcing bar.

  • As the technology and level of autonomous vehicles advance and they drive in more diverse road environments, an intuitive and efficient interaction system is needed to resolve and respond to the situations the vehicle faces. The development of driving technology from the perspective of autonomous driving has the ultimate goal of responding to situations involving humans or more. In particular, in complex road environments where mutual concessions must be made, the role of a system that can respond flexibly through efficient communication methods to understand each other's situation between vehicles or between pedestrians and vehicles is important. In order to resolve the status of the vehicle or the situation being faced, the provision and method of information must be intuitive and the efficient operation of an autonomous vehicle through interaction with intention is required. In this paper, we explain the vehicle structure and functions that can display information about the situation in which the autonomous vehicle driving in a living lab can drive stably and efficiently in a diverse and complex environment.

  • Pelvic floor muscles positively affect not only urinary incontinence but also lumbar stabilization by generating intra-abdominal pressure through interaction with muscles around the trunk. Especially, contracting pelvic floor muscles consistently and gently at low intensity is one of the most effective methods to separate and contract transverse abdominis which plays an important role in lumbar stabilization. The purpose of this study was to reexamine the importance of pelvic floor muscles which had not been used much in the treatment of lumbago and to introduce pelvic floor muscle exercises that can be utilized in the treatment of lumbago by examining literature on the relationship between pelvic floor muscles and lumbar stabilization. It is expected that this study will help apply lumbar stabilization exercise to patients with lumbago more variously and effectively.

  • Rock damage induced by blasting can not be avoided during tunnel construction and may affect tunnel stability. But the mutual interaction between tunnel blasting design and tunnel stability design is generally not considered. Therefore this study propose a methodology to take into considration the results of the blasting damage in tunnel stability design. Rock damage is evaluated by dynamic numerical analysis for the most common blasting pattern adopted in road tunnel. Damage zone is determined by using the continuum damage model which is expressed as a function of volumetric strain. And the damage effect is taken into account by the damaged rock stiffness and the damaged failure criteria in tunnel stability assessment. The extend of plastic zone and deformation increase compared to the case of not considering blast-induced rock damage.

Design Learning Environment based on Affordance Concept for Convergent Design Education

  • I suggested the design learning environment based on affordance concept approach for supporting and improving learners' behavior and outcome for convergent design education in this study. The design learning space should be applied teaching and learning activity, especially learners' behavior, physical space condition to support the design thinking process. The design learning space needs openness, individuality and connectivity to support the learners' behavioral to immerse, participate, cooperate, understand, think and fulfill the design thinking process. The composition principles of the learning environment for convergent design education supports communication and collaboration among members for independence and interaction. The spaces for design research and teaching needs high privacy while facilitating visual communications through special materials and wall structure design. Also, for connectivity to improve the learners' physical and visual contact, the environment of the classrooms requires flexibility and mobility by providing an open space integrating unit cells for realizing learning purpose. These are provided by formed of an open structure for inducing visual communication and physical contact to involve the design activities and the mutual interchange.

  • Network industry is complex combined with various fields of industry, such as communication, broadcast, construction, and home appliances. Moreover, it's fairly lucrative since the growth industry makes lots of added values, interacting with the others.The network industry, usually called 'Ubiquitous', connects some home appliances and makes an integrated system that you can use them with whenever and wherever. A demand for network security, however, has skyrocketed due to the relatively low safety. It's been expected that the market of home security is going to be grown up nearly 30 percent every year. Recently, analog surveilance cameras have been replaced with digital ones, and they will be providing stronger security services taking advantage of mutual interaction with related industies. In this paper, a mobile monitoring system for home security is proposed, which makes it possible to supervise all home appliances wherever you're, using the conventional wired/wireless network infra.

  • We describe the looper controller design for a hot strip mill. The looper is to control the strip tension which influences on the width of the strip. It is very important to control the looper control of the hot strip mill, but difficult to control the looper, because there exists on mutual interaction among strip gauge, looper angle, and strip tension. In this paper, we present the modeling for the hot strip finishing mill to control the tension of the strip and suggest a cross control method. The cross control is a very simple method that allows non-interacting control.

It is very important to control the looper control of the hot strip mill, but difficult to control the looper, because there exists mutual interaction among strip gauge, looper angle, and strip tension. In this paper, we present the modeling for the looper of a hot strip mill to control the tension of the strip and suggest a eigenstructure assignment method. The eigenstructure assignment is useful tool that allows the designer to satisfy damping, settling time, and mode decoupling specifications directly by choosing eigenvalue and eigenvectors. Desired eigenvalue and eigenvector are chosen to satisfy the desired responses.
