Design of Digital Fingerprinting Scheme for Multi-purchase

  • In this paper, we are concerned with a digital fingerprinting scheme for multi-purchase where a buyer wants to buy more than a digital content. If we apply previous schemes to multi-purchase protocol, the number of execution of registration step and decryption key should be increased in proportion to that of digital contents to be purchased in order to keep unlinkability. More worse, most of fingerprinting schemes in the literature are based on either secure multi-party computation or general zero-knowledge proofs with very high computational complexity. These high complexities complicate materialization of fingerprinting protocol more and more. In this paper, we propose a multi-purchase fingerprinting scheme with lower computational complexity. In the proposed scheme, a buyer executes just one-time registration step regardless of the number of contents to be purchased. The number of decryption key is constant and independent of the number of contents to be purchased. We can also reduce the computational costs of buyers by introducing a concept of proxy-based fingerprinting protocol.

A Design on the Multimedia Fingerprinting code based on Feature Point for Forensic Marking (포렌식 마킹을 위한 특징점 기반의 동적 멀티미디어 핑거프린팅 코드 설계)

  • In this paper, it was presented a design on the dynamic multimedia fingerprinting code for anti-collusion code(ACC) in the protection of multimedia content. Multimedia fingerprinting code for the conventional ACC, is designed with a mathematical method to increase k to k+1 by transform from BIBD's an incidence matrix to a complement matrix. A codevector of the complement matrix is allowanced fingerprinting code to a user' authority and embedded into a content. In the proposed algorithm, the feature points were drawing from a content which user bought, with based on these to design the dynamical multimedia fingerprinting code. The candidate codes of ACC which satisfied BIBD's v and k+1 condition is registered in the codebook, and then a matrix is generated(Below that it calls "Rhee matrix") with ${\lambda}+1$ condition. In the experimental results, the codevector of Rhee matrix based on a feature point of the content is generated to exist k in the confidence interval at the significance level ($1-{\alpha}$). Euclidean distances between row and row and column and column each other of Rhee matrix is working out same k value as like the compliment matrices based on BIBD and Graph. Moreover, first row and column of Rhee matrix are an initial firing vector and to be a forensic mark of content protection. Because of the connection of the rest codevectors is reported in the codebook, when trace a colluded code, it isn't necessity to solve a correlation coefficient between original fingerprinting code and the colluded code but only search the codebook then a trace of the colluder is easy. Thus, the generated Rhee matrix in this paper has an excellent robustness and fidelity more than the mathematically generated matrix based on BIBD as ACC.

  • The wide use of digital media during the past few years, has led to an increase of digital piracy and tampering. To deal with these problems, the concept of digital fingerprinting has been introduced. Digital fingerprinting is an effective method to identify users who might try to redistribute multimedia content. In this paper, we propose new digital image fingerprinting techniques using watermark shifting scheme and concept of domain.

Frequency-Temporal Filtering for a Robust Audio Fingerprinting Scheme in Real-Noise Environments

  • In a real environment, sound recordings are commonly distorted by channel and background noise, and the performance of audio identification is mainly degraded by them. Recently, Philips introduced a robust and efficient audio fingerprinting scheme applying a differential (high-pass filtering) to the frequency-time sequence of the perceptual filter-bank energies. In practice, however, the robustness of the audio fingerprinting scheme is still important in a real environment. In this letter, we introduce alternatives to the frequency-temporal filtering combination for an extension method of Philips' audio fingerprinting scheme to achieve robustness to channel and background noise under the conditions of a real situation. Our experimental results show that the proposed filtering combination improves noise robustness in audio identification.

Colluders Tracing on the Collusion Codes of Multimedia Fingerprinting Codes based on BIBD (BIBD 기반의 멀티미디어 핑거프린팅 코드의 공모코드들에 대한 공모자 추적)

  • In this paper, it has the performance metrics and the utility evaluation of the collusion codes about multimedia fingerprinting code based on BIBD and then the tracing algorithm of all colluders is proposed. Among the collusion codes, the bit stream of "all 0" or "all 1" are generated, also same collusion code and bit reversed code with user's fingerprinting code are generated. Thus there was occurred some problems, in which a colluder is deciding to anti-colluder or anti-colluder is deciding to colluder. In this paper, for the performance metrics and the utility evaluation of the collude codes, the experiment onto the total solution is processed by the logical collusion operation added with a partially processed averaging attack in the past papers. The proposed performance metrics and the utility evaluation about the collusion code generated from multimedia fingerprinting code based on BIBD is operated. Through the experiment, it confirmed that the ratio of colluder tracing is 100%.

Traitor Traceability of Colluded Multimedia Fingerprinting code Using Hamming Distance on XOR Collusion Attack (XOR 공모공격에서 해밍거리를 이용한 공모된 멀티미디어 핑거프린팅 코드의 부정자 추적)

  • For the traitor tracing of multimedia content, this paper presents the classification algorithm of XOR collusion attack types using hamming distance, which applies to the colluded fingerprinting codes. The conventional traitor decision hinges on the colluded fingerprinting code used by a correlation coefficient, but the proposed scheme uses hamming distance. While XOR collusion attack employing a correlation coefficient is impossible to trace the traitors about 50% colluders due to a serious XOR linear problem, our method improves the performance of traceability to trace at least 1 traitor using hamming distance, and thus, the functional behavior of the proposed traitor traceability is coincided with Probability Scheme.

  • In this paper, we present a novel video fingerprinting implementation method to identify the source of illegal copies. The video fingerprinting is achieved by the insertion of uniform distributed random number is made by seller and buyer's identification key-in the video wavelet coefficients by their temporal wavelet transform. The proposed fingerprinting is able to detect unique fingerprint of video contents even if they have been distorted by collusion attacks and MPEG2 compression. Especially, we use characteristics of the temporal wavelet transform to assign user's embedding area. Experimental results show the traceability of unauthorized distribution of video contents and its robustness to various collusion attacks and MPEG2 compression.

Multimedia Fingerprinting in DCT Block (DCT 블록의 멀티미디어 핑거프린팅)

  • In this paper, it was implemented an algorithm of multimedia fingerprinting in DCT block. For the improvement of the limits of DRM’s ability, the proposed algorithm could be decided a responsibility boundary to judge a traitor who falsified the content according to perform separately a watermarking of content provider and a fingerprinting of content user. At the test image size($128{\times}128$) and block size($8{\times}8$) of the content provider, the measured PSNR is Inf~46.6dB with watermarking strength ${\Theta}=0.5{\sim}1.2$, and at a number of users and user's code length are n=7,15,31,63 and l=7,15,31,64 each, the measured PSNR is Inf~46.1 with fingerprinting code length l=7,15,31,63. Finally, a traitor tracing of the falsified content is approached to a trace ratio 1 which is extended to n-1.

An Implementation on the XOR-ACC of Multimedia Fingerprinting using Neural Network (신경망을 이용한 멀티미디어 핑거프린팅의 XOR-ACC 구현)

  • In multimedia fingerprinting field, it is many used a code based on BIBD, which has a strong resiliency of anti-collusion. When a collusion-attack code is generated with a logical XOR operation using the code based on BIBD, then some cases are occurred that a colluded code could be generated to the same fingerprint of non-colluder on the other hand, the colluder is decided to the non-colluder so that he would be excepted in the colluder tracing. For solving the serious problem of the wrong decision of the colluder tracing in this paper, XOR-ACC is implemented using multi-layer perceptron neural network among (AND, OR, XOR and Averaging)-ACC by the measured correlation coefficient. Through the experiment, it confirms that XOR-ACC efficiency of multimedia fingerprinting code{7,3,1} based on BIBD is improved to 88.24% from the conventional 41.18%, so that a ratio of the colluder tracing is also improved to 100% from the conventional 53%. As a result, it could be traced and decided completely a sectional colluder and non-colluder about the collusion attacks.
