  • Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian finite element methods gain interest for the capability to control mesh geometry independently from material geometry, the ALE methods are used to create a new undistorted mesh for the fluid domain. In this paper we use the ALE technique to solve fuel slosh problem. Fuel slosh is an important design consideration not only for the fuel tank, but also for the structure supporting the fuel tank. "Fuel slosh" can be generated by many ways: abrupt changes in acceleration (braking), as well as abrupt changes in direction (highway exit-ramp). Repetitive motion can also be involved if a "sloshing resonance" is generated. These sloshing events can in turn affect the overall performance of the parent structure. A finite element analysis method has been developed to analyze this complex event. A new ALE formulation for the fluid mesh has been developed to keep the fluid mesh integrity during the motion of the tank. This paper explains the analysis capabilities on a technical level. Following the explanation, the analysis capabilities are validated against theoretical using potential flow for calculating fuel slosh frequency.

  • Lines and textures are natural properties of the surface of natural objects, and their images can be sparsely represented in suitable frames such as wavelets, curvelets and wave atoms. Based on characteristics that the curvelets framework is good at expressing the line feature and wavesat is good at representing texture features, we propose a model for the weighted sparsity constraints of the two frames. Furtherly, a multi-step iterative fast algorithm for solving the model is also proposed based on the split Bergman method. By introducing auxiliary variables and the Bergman distance, the original problem is transformed into an iterative solution of two simple sub-problems, which greatly reduces the computational complexity. Experiments using standard images show that the split-based Bergman iterative algorithm in hybrid domain defeats the traditional Wavelets framework or curvelets framework both in terms of timeliness and recovery accuracy, which demonstrates the validity of the model and algorithm in this paper.

  • The dual singular function method [DSFM] is a solver for corner sigulaity problem. We already construct DSFM in previous reserch to solve the Stokes equations including one singulairity at each reentrant corner, but we find out a crucial incorrection in the proof of well-posedness and regularity of dual singular function. The goal of this paper is to prove accuracy and well-posdness of DSFM for Stokes equations including two singulairities at each corner. We also introduce new applicable algorithms to slove multi-singulrarity problems in a complicated domain.

  • The focus of this paper is on the numerical investigation of obliquely incident wane interactions with a system composed of full submerged and floating dual buoy/vertical-flexible-membrane breakwaters placed in parallel with spacing. The fully submerged systems allow surface and bottom clearances to enable wave transmission over and under the system. The problem is formulated based on the two-dimensional multi-domain hydro-elastic linear wave-body interaction theory. The hydrodynamic interaction of oblique incident waves with the combination of the rigid and flexible bodies was solved by the distribution of the simple sources (modified Bessel function of fille second kind) tat satisfy the Helmholz governing equation. Using this computer program, the performance of various dual systems varying buoy radiuses and drafts, membrane lengths, clearances. spacing, mooring-lines stiffness, mooring types, water depth, and wave characteristics is thoroughly examined. It is found that the fully submerged and floating dual buoy/membrane breakwaters call, if it is properly tuned to the coming waves, have good performances ill reflecting the obliquely incident waves over a tilde range of wave frequency and headings.

  • In the current Internet system, there are many problems using anonymity of the network communication such as personal information leaks and crimes using the Internet system. This is why TCP/IP protocol used in Internet system does not have the user identification information on the communication data, and it is difficult to supervise the user performing the above acts immediately. As a study for solving the above problem, there is the study of Policy Based Network Management (PBNM). This is the scheme for managing a whole Local Area Network (LAN) through communication control for every user. In this PBNM, two types of schemes exist. As one scheme, we have studied theoretically about the Destination Addressing Control System (DACS) Scheme with affinity with existing internet. By applying this DACS Scheme to Internet system management, we will realize the policy-based Internet system management. In this paper, basic system design for PBNM scheme for multi-domain management utilizing data science and AI is proposed.

  • Prosody Generation Based on C-ToBI Representation for Text-to-SpeechSeungwon Kim, Yu Zheng, Gary Geunbae Lee, Byeongchang KimProsody modeling is critical in developing text-to-speech (TTS) systems where speech synthesis is used to automatically generate natural speech. In this paper, we present a prosody generation architecture based on Chinese Tone and Break Index (C-ToBI) representation. ToBI is a multi-tier representation system based on linguistic knowledge to transcribe events in an utterance. The TTS system which adopts ToBI as an intermediate representation is known to exhibit higher flexibility, modularity and domain/task portability compared with the direct prosody generation TTS systems. However, the cost of corpus preparation is very expensive for practical-level performance because the ToBI labeled corpus has been manually constructed by many prosody experts and normally requires a large amount of data for accurate statistical prosody modeling. This paper proposes a new method which transcribes the C-ToBI labels automatically in Chinese speech. We model Chinese prosody generation as a classification problem and apply conditional Maximum Entropy (ME) classification to this problem. We empirically verify the usefulness of various natural language and phonology features to make well-integrated features for ME framework.

  • Although the holes on the shell case are very important fer the acoustic performance, it is difficult to solve the problem because the case includes thin bodies. Hence, in the past, only the method of trial and error, which depends on the engineer's intuition and experience, was available fur the design of holes. Many researchers have tried to solve the thin-body acoustic problems, since the conventional boundary element method (BEM ) using the Helmholtz integral equation fails to yield a reliable solution fer the numerical modelling of radiation anti scattering of sound from thin bodies. In the area of the analysis of thin-body acoustic problem, three approaches are generally used; the multi-domain BEM, the indirect variational BEM, and the normal derivative integral equation And there has been just a f9w study reported on the design optimization for the acoustic radiation problems by using only the conventional BEM. For the thin-body acoustics, however, no further study in the optimization fields has been reported. In this research, the normal derivative integral equation is adopted as an analysis formulation in the thin-body acoustics, and then used fur the optimization. The analytical approaches for the design of holes are proposed by using a topology optimization technique and a genetic algorithm. The proposed approaches are implemented and validated using numerical examples.

  • The main aim of this paper is the identification of the model parameters for the constitutive model of concrete and concrete-like materials capable of representing full set of 3D failure mechanisms under various stress states. Identification procedure is performed taking into account multi-scale character of concrete as a structural material. In that sense, macro-scale model is used as a model on which the identification procedure is based, while multi-scale model which assume strong coupling between coarse and fine scale is used for numerical simulation of experimental results. Since concrete possess a few clearly distinguished phases in process of deformation until failure, macro-scale model contains practically all important ingredients to include both bulk dissipation and surface dissipation. On the other side, multi-scale model consisted of an assembly micro-scale elements perfectly fitted into macro-scale elements domain describes localized failure through the implementation of embedded strong discontinuity. This corresponds to surface dissipation in macro-scale model which is described by practically the same approach. Identification procedure is divided into three completely separate stages to utilize the fact that all material parameters of macro-scale model have clear physical interpretation. In this way, computational cost is significantly reduced as solving three simpler identification steps in a batch form is much more efficient than the dealing with the full-scale problem. Since complexity of identification procedure primarily depends on the choice of either experimental or numerical setup, several numerical examples capable of representing both homogeneous and heterogeneous stress state are performed to illustrate performance of the proposed methodology.

  • The more people use ambulatory electrocardiogram(ECG) for arrhythmia detection, the more researchers report the automatic classification algorithms. Most of the previous studies don't consider the un-balanced data distribution. Even in patients, there are much more normal beats than abnormal beats among the data from 24 hours. To solve this problem, the hierarchical classification using 21 features was adopted for arrhythmia abnormal beat detection. The features include R-R intervals and data to describe the morphology of the wave. To validate the algorithm, 44 non-pacemaker recordings from physionet were used. The hierarchical classification model with 2 stages on domain knowledge was constructed. Using our suggested method, we could improve the performance in abnormal beat classification from the conventional multi-class classification method. In conclusion, the domain knowledge based hierarchical classification is useful to the ECG beat classification with unbalanced data distribution.

  • WWW which is an applicable massive set of document on the Web is a thesaurus of various information for users. However, Search engines spend a lot of time to retrieve necessary information and to filter out unnecessary information for user. In this paper, we propose the EFAM(the Extended Fuzzy AHP Method) model to manage the Web resource efficiently, and to make a decision in the problem of specific domain definitely. The EFAM model is concerned with the emotion analysis based on the domain corpus information, and it composed with systematic common concept grids by the knowledge of multiple experts. Therefore, The proposed the EFAM model can extract the documents by considering on the emotion criteria in the semantic context that is extracted concept from the corpus of specific domain and confirms that our model provides more efficient decision-making through an experiment than the conventional methods such as AHP and Fuzzy AHP which describe as a hierarchical structure elements about decision-making based on the alternatives, evaluation criteria, subjective attribute weight and fuzzy relation between concept and object.
