An Efficient Multi-Attribute Negotiation System using Learning Agents for Reciprocity (상호 이익을 위한 학습 에이전트 기반의 효율적인 다중 속성 협상 시스템)

  • In this paper we propose a fast negotiation agent system that guarantees the reciprocity of the attendants in a bilateral negotiation on the e-commerce. The proposednegotiation agent system exploits the incremental learning method based on an artificial neural network in generating a counter-offer and is trained by the previous offer that has been rejected by the other party. During a negotiation, the software agents on behalf of a buyer and a seller negotiate each other by considering the multi-attributes of a product. The experimental results show that the proposed negotiation system achieves better agreements than other negotiation agent systems that are operated under the realistic and practical environment. Furthermore, the proposed system carries out negotiations about twenty times faster than the previous negotiation systems on the average.

  • In this paper, a multi agent-multi task assignment problem, which is a representative problem of combinatorial optimization, is presented. The objective of the problem is to determine the coordinated agent-task assignment that maximizes the sum of the achievement rates of each task. The achievement rate is represented as a concave down increasing function according to the number of agents assigned to the task. The problem is expressed as an NP-hard problem with a non-linear objective function. In this paper, to solve the assignment problem, we propose a hybrid cross-entropy algorithm as an effective and efficient solution methodology. In fact, the general cross-entropy algorithm might have drawbacks (e.g., slow update of parameters and premature convergence) according to problem situations. Compared to the general cross-entropy algorithm, the proposed method is designed to be less likely to have the two drawbacks. We show that the performances of the proposed methods are better than those of the general cross-entropy algorithm through numerical experiments.

  • This paper proposes a new fault restoration method which adopts the recloser as top agent to release the problems of the data concentration and fault processing delay of the existing DAS(distribution Automation System) under the ubiquitous distribution system. In proposed method, top agent collects the data based on the multi-casting communication with the tie switches of the interconnection point, and then selects a closed switch(tie switch) to transfer the sound outage load to other feeders based on the heuristic search strategy step by step until the load transfer work is finished. Here, a new heuristic rule is developed which can guarantee the relational load balancing and line loss from the collected voltage data. Finally, the several faults are simulated for typical multi-section and multi-interconnection distribution system to prove the effectiveness of the proposed strategy, in particular, for each simulation cases, the load balancing index and line loss index of the obtained solution from the proposed method is compared with those of all of feasible solutions.

  • In this paper, we suggest the Agent System for management and service of science and technology information that performs the collection, analyzing, processing and managing the information. Generally, any system can process the collection and service the information as usual method, but that mean can't be clear because of the data process method on different systems of hardware and software. So, it's very important point that the design and development of S&T information flow framework that can accept the various data, and we expect that the agent system adapted in framework guarantee the reduction of man power and process time and the enlarged system. Agent System consists of five multi agents, Resource Format Register Agent, Data Collector Agent, Data Analyzer Agent, Data Processor Agent and MetaDB Creator Agent. We describe the main roles and elements of agent systems.

A Multi-agent based Cooperation System for an Intelligent Earthwork (지능형 토공을 위한 멀티에이전트 기반 협업시스템)

  • A number of studies have been conducted recently regarding the development of automation systems for the construction sector. Much of this attention has focused on earthwork because it is highly dependent on construction machines and is regarded as being basic for the construction of buildings and civil works. For example, technologies are being developed in order to enable earthwork planning based on construction site models that are constructed by automatic systems and to enable construction equipment to perform the work based on the plan and the environment. There are many problems that need to be solved in order to enable the use of automatic earthwork systems in construction sites. For example, technologies are needed for enabling collaborations between similar and different kinds of construction equipment. This study aims to develop a construction system that imitates collaborative systems and decision-making methods that are used by humans. The proposed system relies on the multi-agent concept from the field of artificial intelligence. In order to develop a multi-agent-based system, configurations and functions are proposed for the agents and a framework for collaboration and arbitration between agents is presented. Furthermore, methods are introduced for preventing duplicate work and minimizing interference effects during the collaboration process. Methods are also presented for performing advance planning for the excavators and compactors that are involved in the construction. The current study suggests a theoretical framework and evaluates the results using virtual simulations. However, in the future, an empirical study will be conducted in order to apply these concepts to actual construction sites through the development of a physical system.

A Method of Efficient Task Execution by Integrating Plan Rules in Multi-Agent Systems (계획 규칙의 통합을 통한 멀티 에이전트 시스템의 효율적인 작업 수행 방법)

  • Most agents are associated with plan rules for their tasks when they are created. In a multi-agent system in which many agents are interacting, the direct use of predefined plan rules of each agents may slow down the system due to the lack of recognition of the relationship among plan rules of the agents. In order to overcome this, we need to analyze and integrate the agent's plan rules to facilitate concurrent rule execution. This paper proposes a method that integrates and executes local plan rules of task agents in a multi-agent environment. The results of the integration are represented in a network structure. For domain task execution, a task agent collects other task agents' plan rules and builds an integrated domain network, which is exploited to achieve the goal. The agent problem solving by using the domain network enables not only the concurrent plan execution but the solution of coordination problems.

  • In SCM (supply chain management), companies are pursuing a new approach through which overall functions within the supply chain, ranging from material purchase to production, distribution, and sales are designed, planned, and managed in an integrated way. The core functions among them are production planning and distribution planning. As these problems are mutually related, they should be dealt with simultaneously in an integrated manner. SCM is large-scale and multi-stage problems. Also, its various kinds of internal or external factors can, at any time, dynamically bring a change to the existing plan or situation. Recently, many enterprises are moving toward an open architecture for integrating their activities with their suppliers, customers and other partners within the supply chain. Agent-based technology provides an effective approach in such environments. Multi-agent systems have been proven suitable to represent domains such as supply chain networks which involve interactions among manufacturing organization, their customers, suppliers, etc. with different individual goals and propriety information. In this paper, we propose a multi-agent system based on the genetic algorithm that make it possible to integrate the production and distribution planning on a real-time basis in SCM. The proposed genetic algorithm produced near optimal solution and we checked that there is a great difference in the results between integrated planning and non-integrated planning.

  • Cyber education fields have been changed a lot with the internee development. One of them is the field of consultation for university admission. As for the business of university admission, there were two ways applicants handed in their applications directly to school which they applied to and to each place to receive applications or sent them through FAX. Recently, highlighted is the internee environment to receive the application for admission which integrated organically the two ways. This paper aims to design and implement a multi-consulting-agent system having intelligence which helps applicants make their right applications for colleges or universities through internet system after guiding a proper department to them.

  • In an islanded operation mode of a microgrid, load shedding is used to balance between the power supplied and the power demanded. The conventional load-shedding schemes have considered that a load uses a continuous range of values to present its load demand. However, in reality, some loads use integer and discrete values. We design a multi-agent system for the load shedding with consideration of the discrete characteristic of load demands. Besides, we define a control architecture, functionalities of agents, and interactions among agents for implementation of the system. Through experiments in various test scenarios, we show the feasibility and performance of the system.

Agent-based Mobile Robotic Cell Using Object Oriented & Queuing Petri Net Methods in Distribution Manufacturing System

  • In this paper, we deal with the problem of modeling of agent-based robot manufacturing cell. Its role is becoming increasingly important in automated manufacturing systems. For Object Oriented & Queueing Petri Nets (OO&QPNs), an extended formalism for the combined quantitative and qualitative analysis of different systems is used for structure and performance analysis of mobile robotic cell. In the case study, the OO&QPN model of a mobile robotic cell is represented and analyzed, considering multi-class parts, non-preemptive priority and alternative routing. Finally, the comparison of performance values between Shortest Process Time (SPT) rule and First Come First Serve (FCFS) rule is suggested. In general, SPT rule is most suitable for parts that have shorter processing time than others.
