ANFIS 기반의 유황별 조건부 댐 유입량 예측기법 개발 및 평가 (Development and evaluation of ANFIS-based conditional dam inflow prediction method using flow regime)

  • 본 연구에서는 ANFIS 기반의 유황별 댐 예측유입량 산정 기법(Flow regime-based ANFIS Dam Inflow Prediction, FADIP)을 개발하고, 이를 단순 ANFIS 기반 댐 예측유입량 산정 기법(ANFIS Dam Inflow Prediction, ADIP)과 비교 평가하였다. 대상유역은 국내 주요 다목적댐인 충주댐 유역과 소양강댐 유역을 선정하였으며, 입력자료로 댐 유입량, 강수량, 장기기상예보 자료를 사용하였다. 모델의 훈련 및 보정기간으로 충주댐 유역은 1987~2010년, 소양강댐 유역은 1984~2010년을 선정하였다. 검정기간은 두 유역 모두 2011~2016년을 활용하였다. 훈련 및 보정결과 FADIP는 ADIP에 비해 평수기, 저수기에 훈련이 개선되는 것으로 나타났다. 검정결과 ADIP는 통계모델의 학습방법 특성상 일반적인 사상에 학습이 이루어져, 저수기에 예측성이 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 FADIP는 ADIP에 비해 전기간의 정확도가 향상되었으며, 특히 평수기와 저수기에 예측성이 우수하였다. 따라서 FADIP는 다목적댐 이수관리에 활용성이 높을 것으로 판단된다.

MULTI-BLOCK 격자 기법을 이용한 초소형 비행체 주위 공력 특성 해석 (Numerical Investigation of Aerodynamic Characteristics around Micro Aerial Vehicle using Multi-Block Grid)

  • 3차원 비정상, 비압축성 Navier-Stokes 방정식 해석코드를 이용하여, 초소형 비행체 주위에 형성되는 저 레이놀즈수 유동장의 공력 특성을 연구하였다. 비정상 유동장의 효율적인 계산을 위하여, 개발된 코드는 MPI 프로그래밍 기법을 이용하여 병렬처리 하였으며, single partitioning 방법을 적용하여 3차원 형상에 대한 multi-block 격자계를 효율적으로 해석 하였다. 비교적 형상이 복잡하지 않은 초소형 비행체 주위 날개에 대해 해석한 후 초소형 비행체 전 형상에 대해 받음각을 변화시키며 공력계수 및 정안정성을 살펴보았다. 해석 결과, 서울대학교 미소공기역학실험실에서 수행한 아음속 풍동 실험데이터와 비교하여 보았을 때 대체로 잘 일치하였으며, 개념 설계한 비행체가 공기역학적으로 정안정성을 갖고 있음을 보일 수 있었다.

정상 중력장에서 낮은 스트레인율을 갖는 대향류 비예혼합화염의 소화한계 (Extinction Limits of Low Strain Rate Counterflow Nonpremixed Flames in Normal Gravity)

  • The extinction characteristics of low strain rate normal gravity (1-g) nonpremixed methane-air flames were studied numerically and experimentally. A time-dependent axisymmetric two-dimensional (2D) model considering buoyancy effects and radiative heat transfer was developed to capture the structure and extinction limits of 1-g flames. One-dimensional (1D) computations were also conducted to provide information on 0-g flames. A 3-step global reaction mechanism was used in both the 1D and 2D computations to predict the measured extinction limit and flame temperature. A specific maximum heat release rate was introduced to quantify the local flame strength and to elucidate the extinction mechanism. Overall fractional contribution by each term in the energy equation to the heat release was evaluated to investigate the multi-dimensional structure and radiative extinction of 1-g flames. Images of flames were taken for comparison with the model calculation undergoing extinction. The two-dimensional numerical model was validated by comparing flame temperature profiles and extinction limits with experiments and ID computation results. The 2D computations yielded insight into the extinction mode and flame structure of 1-g flames. Two combustion regimes depending on the extinction mode were identified. Lateral heat loss effects and multi-dimensional flame structure were also found. At low strain rates of 1-g flame ('Regime A'), the flame is extinguished from the weak outer flame edge, which is attributed to multi-dimensional flame structure and flow field. At high strain rates, ('Regime B'), the flame extinction initiates near the flame centerline due to an increased diluent concentration in reaction zone, which is the same as the extinction mode of 1D flame. These two extinction modes could be clearly explained with the specific maximum heat release rate.

  • This paper aims at presenting the state of the art, the recent progress, and the perspective for the future, in the modelling of two-phase flow in the horizontal legs of a PWR. All phenomena relevant for safety analysis are listed first. The selection of the modelling approach for system codes is then discussed, including the number of fluids or fields, the space and time resolution, and the use of flow regime maps. The classical two-fluid six-equation one-pressure model as it is implemented in the CATHARE code is then presented and its properties are described. It is shown that the axial effects of gravity forces may be correctly taken into account even in the case of change of the cross section area or of the pipe orientation. It is also shown that it can predict both fluvial and torrential flow with a possible hydraulic jump. Since phase stratification plays a dominant role, the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability and the stability of bubbly flow regime are discussed. A transition criterion based on a stability analysis of shallow water waves may be used to predict the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability. Recent experimental data obtained in the METERO test facility are analysed to model the transition from a bubbly to stratified flow regime. Finally, perspectives for further improvement of the modelling are drawn including dynamic modelling of turbulence and interfacial area and multi-field models.

Impact of Financial Instability on Economic Activity: Evidence from ASEAN Developing Countries

  • Theoretical literature agrees on the interaction between financial instability and economic activity but explains it's dynamic in two points of view: one is that the transmission mechanism occurs in one unique regime and the other reckons a shift of regime leads to the alteration of the transmission mechanism. This study aims to find evidence of the multi-regime transmission for ASEAN developing countries. The author employs the technique of Threshold vector auto regression using the financial stress index standing for financial instability. Monthly data is collected, covering a period long enough with many episodes of high stress in recent decades. There are two conclusions: (1) A financial shock has a negative and stronger impact on economic activity during a high-stress period than it does during a low-stress period; (2) the response of economic activity to a negative financial shock during high-stress periods is stronger than it is during normal times. The findings point to the importance of the financial stress index as an additional early warning indicator for the real economy sector, as well as the positive effect that a reduction in financial stress may have on economic activity, implying the importance of "unconventional" monetary policy in times of high financial stress.

Multi-Regime에 의한 돌발상황 시 교통류 분석 (A Study of Traffic Incident Flow Characteristics on Korean Highway Using Multi-Regime)

  • 본 연구는 점유율, 교통량, 속도 등의 실시간 교통자료의 시계열 분석, 교통기초도 상 실측자료의 통계적 모형화와 교통류의 다영역 구분에 의한 교통정체의 전개 양상을 규명하였다. 천안-논산고속도로의 교통사고와 행사로 인한 교통정체 시의 검지기 자료를 바탕으로 시계열 분석을 수행한 결과 교통사고와 같이 급격히 도로 콩량이 감소하는 경우 사고 직후 점유율의 변화로부터 용이하게 추정할 수 있었다. 행사와 같은 교통량 증가로 인한 교통정체의 경우 점유율과 평균속도의 변화 폭이 완만하며, 충격파의 형태가 다양하여 단순한 교통지표들의 시계열적 분석에 의한 검지의 신속성과 정확성에는 어려움이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 실측자료의 통계적 모형화에 있어서 안정교통류일 경우 점유율과 교통량 관계는 1차 선형식으로 매우 높은 신뢰도로 설명되었다. 그러나 속도와 점유율간의 관계에 있어서는 운전자들의 희망속도에 대한 넓은 폭원으로 인하여 나타나는 군집형태가 통계적 모형으로 표현되기에는 어려운 것으로 나타났다 그러나 이 경우 점유율 6-8$\%$대를 중심으로 속도가 급격히 떨어지는 현상이 발생하였다. 불안정 교통류 상황의 경우 교통정체의 형성과 해소과정이 각기 하나의 영역 내에서 분석됨에 따라 전반적으로 통계적 모형의 적용이 어려운 것으로 나타났다. 안정과 불안정 2영역 구분에 의한 교통정체 형성과 해소과정의 해석이 어려운 점을 감안하여 다영역 구분에 의한 교통류를 시계열에 의하여 분석한 결과 사고시의 교통류는 바로 정지단계(stopped flow)로 전이되며 점유율이 급격히 증가하였으며, 교통류가 stooped flow에서 free flow로 회복될 때 급격히 증가된 점유율이 점진적으로 감소하면서 교통량이 증가하는 추세를 나타냈다. 교통혼잡시의 교통류는 "impeded free flow" 상황에서 "congested flow" 상황을 거쳐 "jammed flow" 상황으로 전개되는 등 사고에 의한 정체 형성 및 해소과정보다 매우 복잡하며, 동일한 점유율에 대하여 교통상태별로 교통량의 차이가 큰 현상이 명확하게 발생하였다. 본 연구는 교통류 분석 시 다영역 구분의 필요성을 제시하였으며, 향후 개별 교통영역에 대한 정량적 구분 및 모형화가 이루어져야 할 것을 제기하였다.

High Temperature Drying of North American Ginseng for Management Decision Making

  • The multi-year production cycle for ginseng can be rapidly depreciated by inferior post-harvest activities. This research examines the character of high temperature drying regimes for North American ginseng root to assist management decision making. The objective is a very rapid drying regime, that will not result in physical or chemical damage to the root and that would not alter the actual dry root weight. Research is presented using drying temperatures of 55, 70 and 105 C. Temperatures above these rapidly cause substantive physical damage to the root samples and seriously compromise the dry root values determined. Temperatures below these behaved quite similar to actual dryer regimes (approximately 38 C). Laboratory results indicate that there are differences between the three temperature regimes tested. Careful usage of the 70 C regime, over a period of two to three days in a convection drying oven, has distinct merit.

  • A step-up option is a newly developed financial instrument that simultaneously provides higher security and profitability. This paper introduces two step-up options: step-up type1 and step-up type2 options, and derives the option pricing formulas using the Laplace transform. We assume that the underlying equity price follows a regime-switching model that reflects the long-term maturity of these options. The option prices are calculated for the two types of funds, a pure stock fund composed of risky assets only and a mixed fund composed of stocks and bonds, to reflect possible variety in the fund underlying asset mix. The impact of changes in the model parameters on the option prices is analyzed. This paper provides information crucial to product developments.

The impact of sidetracking on the wellbore stability

  • In the past sidetracking was the means to bypass a damaged zone or to correct the direction of a wellbore. Nowadays, this method is very common and useful in relocating the bottom of a wellbore in a more productive zone and consequently enhancing the production of a reservoir by saving a significant amount of time and money. In this paper, the stability of the bend area is assessed considering varied conditions of stress regime and sidetrack orientation. In general, the stress regime and the orientation of the principal stresses have negligible effect on the stability of the sidetrack compared to sidetrack inclination. On the other hand, the sidetrack deviation angle from the vertical main well plays the major role in the stability of the bend area.
