Edge Node간 단일 홉을 갖는 다중링 기반의 광네트워크 구성 및 특성 (Architecture and Characteristics of Multi-Ring based Optical Network with Single-Hop between Edge Nodes)

  • 최근 WDM 기술을 적용한 광네트워크에서 중계 노드로 광크로스커넥터를 적용함으로써, 중계 노드에서 트래픽 병목 현상에 의해 지연이 발생하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방안으로 EN(Edge Node)간 단일 홉을 갖는 다중링 유형의 다파장 레이블 기반의 광패킷 네트워크 구조를 제안하였다. 제안한 방식에서 이용되는 광패킷 구성 방법과 다파장 레이블을 이용하여 다중링 기반의 광네트워크를 구성 할 경우, 단일 Optical 대역과 다중 Optical 대역을 이용하여 구성 가능함을 제시하고, 두 방식의 특성을 비교 분석하였다. 이때, EN의 출력에서 광패킷 충돌이 발생하여 광패킷 손실이 발생하는데 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 광패킷을 정적 및 동적으로 타임 슬롯에 할당하는 방안을 제시함으로써 패킷 충돌 회피가 가능함을 분명히 하였다. 그리고 제안한 방식에서 지연은 EN에서만 발생하므로 CN(Core Node)에 의한 지연은 발생하지 않는다. 따라서 본 방식에서 제안한 광네트워크에 대해 EN의 패킷 손실 특성과 호손율, 지연 특성을 분석하고, 본 방식의 우수성과 실현 가능성을 나타냈다.

  • Wireless Mesh Networks aim to attain large connectivity with minimum performance degradation, as network size is increase. As such, scalability is one of the main characteristics of Wireless Mesh Networks that differentiates it from other wireless networks. This characteristic creates the need for bandwidth efficiency strategies to ensure that network performance does not degrade as the size of the network increase. Several researches have been done to realize mesh networks. However, the researches conducted were mostly focused on a per TCP/IP layer basis. Also, the studies on bandwidth efficiency and bandwidth improvement are usually dealt with as separate issues. This paper aims to simultaneously study bandwidth efficiency and improvement. Aside from optimizing the bandwidth given a fixed capacity, the capacity is also increased using results of physical layer studies. In this paper, the capacity is improved by using the concept of non-overlapping channels for wireless communication. A channel allocation scheme is conceptualized to choose the transmission channel that would optimize the network performance parameters with consideration of chosen Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. Network utility maximization is used to optimize the bandwidth after channel selection. Furthermore, a routing scheme is proposed using the results of the network utilization method and the channel allocation scheme to find the optimal path that would maximize the network gain.

무선 Content-Centric Network에서의 Interest-Data Handshaking의 효율성에 대한 연구 (Research on Efficiency of Interest-Data Handshaking in Wireless Content-Centric Networks)

  • 최근 주목을 받고 있는 Information Centric Network 구조 중 하나인 Content Centric Network (CCN)을 무선망에서 실질적으로 운영하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행 되고 있다. 무선망에서 CCN을 운영을 위한 연구 결과들 중 가장 주목할 만한 것으로 Enhanced-Content-centric multiHop wireless NETwork(E-CHANET)이 있다. E-CHANET은 무선망의 특성을 고려하여 효율적 데이터 전송을 위한 방법을 제안하고 있다. E-CHANET에서는 하나의 데이터 파켓 전송 요청을 위하여 Interest 파켓을 전송하여야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 Interest와 데이터 파켓의 전송에 대한 효율성에 대하여 시뮬레이션을 통해 한번의 Interest로 모든 데이터 파켓을 전송하는 방식과 비교 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 통하여 E-CHANET의 방식이 신뢰성을 증가시키기는 하나 전 파켓의 다운로드 시간을 많이 증가 시켜 비효율성이 있음을 확인하였다.

  • In the fuzzy control for the multi-variable system, it is difficult to obtain the fuzzy rule. Therefore, the parallel structure of the independent single input-single output fuzzy controller using a pairing between the input and output variable is applied to the multi-variable system. The concept of relative gain matrix is used to obtain the input-output pairs. However, among the input/output variables which are not paired the interactive effects should be taken into account. these mutual coupling of variables affect the control performance. Therefore, for the control system with a strong coupling property, the control performance is sometimes lowered. In this paper, the effect of mutual coupling of variables is considered by tile introduction of a simple compensator. This compensator adjusts the degree of coupling between variables using a neural network. In this proposed neuro-fuzzy controller, the Neural network which is realized by back-propagation algorithm, adjusts the mutual coupling weight between variables.

  • Technical advances in computer networks and the Internet bring a new communication era and provide effective solutions for cooperative works and research. These technological advances introduced the concept of cyberspace that many people involve reseach and a project at different locations at the same time. In this paper, we present a fast and effective interaction protocol that is aeapted to the COLAB(COIIaborative LABoratory) Systems which use a high-speed ATM Network. The CCOLAB systems is developed for researchers those who are doing a large project on the collaborative research environment. The interaction protocol that we developed supports multi-session and multi-channel on the TCP/IP Network and provides more flexible solution to control multimedia data on the network.

Exploratory Study of Developing a Synchronization-Based Approach for Multi-step Discovery of Knowledge Structures

  • As Topic Modeling has been applied in increasingly various domains, the difficulty in naming and characterizing topics also has been recognized more. This study, therefore, explores an approach of combining text mining with network analysis in a multi-step approach. The concept of synchronization was applied to re-assign the top author keywords in more than one topic category, in order to improve the visibility of the topic-author keyword network, and to increase the topical cohesion in each topic. The suggested approach was applied using 16,548 articles with 2,881 unique author keywords in construction and building engineering indexed by KSCI. As a result, it was revealed that the combined approach could improve both the visibility of the topic-author keyword map and topical cohesion in most of the detected topic categories. There should be more cases of applying the approach in various domains for generalization and advancement of the approach. Also, more sophisticated evaluation methods should also be necessary to develop the suggested approach.

  • Network human-robot interface is an important research topic. In home application, users access the robotic system directly via voice, gestures or through the network. Users explore a system by using the services provided by this system and to some extend users are enable to participate in a service as partners. A service may be provided by a robot, a group of robots or robots and other network connected systems (distributed sensors, information systems, etc). All these services are done in the network environment, where uncertainty such as the unstable network connection, the availability of the partners in a service, exists. Moreover, these services are controlled by several users, accessing at different time by different methods. Our research aimed at solving this problem to provide a high available level, flexible coordination system. In this paper, a multi-agent framework is proposed. This framework is validated by using our new concept of slave agents, a responsive multi-agent environment, a virtual directory facilitator (VDF), and a task allocation system using contract net protocol. Our system uses a mixed model between distributed and centralized model. It uses a centralized agent management system (AMS) to control the overall system. However, the partners and users may be distributed agents connected to the center through agent communication or centralized at the AMS container using the slave agents to represent the physical agents. The system is able to determine the task allocation for a group of robot working as a team to provide a service. A number of experiments have been conducted successfully in our lab environment using Issac robot, a PDA for user agent and a wireless network system, operated under our multi agent framework control. The experiments show that this framework works well and provides some advantages to existing systems.

PEIS-Ecology in multi-robot environments

  • The ecology of Physically Embedded Intelligent Systems (PEIS) is a new multi robotic framework conceived by integrating insights from the fields of autonomous robotics and ambient intelligence. A PEIS-Ecology is a network of intelligent robotic devices that can provide the user with assistance, information, communication, and entertainment services. In this paper we introduce the concept of PEIS Ecology, and illustrate a concrete realization of a PEIS-Ecology.

  • Topology optimization is an effective scheme to obtain the initial design concept: however, it is hard to apply in case of non-linear or multi-objective problems. In this study, a modified topology optimization method is proposed to generate a structure of a swing arm type actuator satisfying maximum compliance as well. as maximum stiffness using the multi-objective optimization. approach. The multi-objective function is defined to maximize the compliance in the direction of focusing of the actuator and the second eigen-frequency of the structure. The design of experiments are performed and the response surface functions are formulated to construct the multi-objective function. The weighting factors between conflicting functions are determined by the back-error propagation neural network and the solution of multi-objective function is acquired using the genetic algorithm.

웹 사용 정보에 기반한 다중 성향 키워드 모델의 설계와 응용 (Design and Application of Multi Concept Keyword Model based on Web-using Information)

  • 웹의 방대한 데이터에서 사용자에게 유용한 정보를 제공하기 위하여 다양한 연구가 시도되고 있다. 그 중에서 웹 사용 마이닝은 웹 사용자의 로그 정보를 기반으로 의미 있는 패턴을 추출하는 방법이다. 하지만 기존의 웹 사용 마이닝을 이용한 패턴 추출에는 사용자들의 다양한 성향을 고려하지 않은 개별적인 모델을 생성하는데 주를 이루고 있다. 웹에서 사용된 사용자들의 검색 키워드는 그들의 검색 의도나 배경지식에 따라 다양한 의미를 가질 수 있고, 그런 개개인의 검색의도에 맞는 검색 서비스가 제공할 수 있는 기술이 요구된다. 본 논문은 사용자 검색 키워드에 대한 웹 페이지 사용 행위 정보 및 방문한 웹 페이지 리스트를 수집하고 분석하여 다중 성향 키워드 모델(Multi Concept Keyword Model : MCK-Model)을 생성한다. MCK-Model은 사용자들이 특정 키워드를 이용하여 검색 후 방문한 웹 페이지 리스트를 통합하여 생성한 것으로, 사용자들이 검색 키워드에 대해 가지고 있는 다양한 검색 의도에 따라 방문하는 웹 페이지의 정보를 포함하고 있다. 생성된 MCK-Model은 웹 페이지 추천을 위하여 유용하게 사용할 수 있으며, 실험을 통하여 제안하는 방법의 유효함을 확인하였다.
