  • A moving object management system manages spatiotemporal data o( moving objects which change their location continuously over time such as people, animals, cars, cellular phones, and so on. This system can be applied to location based services such as vehicle tracking systems, digital battlefields, and animal habitat management. The existing systems neither suggest location estimation of the moving objects nor handle the loss data of the moving objects in real-time environment. Thus the existing systems have problems that they give the uncertain results of the query processing to the user query. In this paper, we design a new moving object management system. The proposed system processes the past and future location information of the moving objects by the location change function. Also we propose a location triggering method, which supplements loss of the location data of the mobile objects in real-time environment. Finally, we implement and apply the proposed system to a vehicle tracking system based on PDA. Thus we ascertain that the proposed system can be applied to the location based system.

  • For the battlefield analysis, it is required to get correct information about the identification and moving status of target enemy units. However, it is difficult for us to collect all of the information perfectly, because of the technology of communications, jamming, and tactics. Therefore, we need a reasoning function that predicts and analyzes future moving status for target units by using collected moving information and domain knowledge. Especially. since the moving units have characteristics of moving objects, which change their position and shape over time, they require functions to manage and predict locations of moving objects. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a location prediction system of moving units for battlefield analysis. The proposed system not only predicts unknown units, unidentified units, and main strike directions to application domain for battlefield analysis, but also estimates the past or future locations of moving objects not stored in a database.

  • Retractable roof system is one of the special feature in stadium or complex structure. And this retractable roof system makes possible to use spacial structure all-weather. This retractable roof system is able to classified into overlapping, parallel movement and folding system. Moving load, impact load, inertial or braking loads, these dynamic loads induced by movements of retractable roof system. So it is necessary to analysis of spacial structures are subjected to these dynamic loads. Dynamic loads that are induced by the retractable roof movements can be applied to moving mass method or moving force method. But, moving force method is appropriate because the retractable roof movements is slow relatively. In this paper, new application method of moving forces induced by the retractable roof movements is proposed. And vibration analysis of spacial structures are executed by using the proposed method. This proposed equivalent moving force can be easily applied to spacial structure that is subjected to dynamic loads induced by movement of the retractable roof system.

  • In recent years, container techniques have been broadly applied to cloud computing systems to maximize their efficiency, flexibility, and economic feasibility. Concurrently, studies have also been conducted to ensure the security of cloud computing. Among these studies, moving-target defense techniques using the high agility and flexibility of cloud-computing systems are gaining attention. Moving-target defense (MTD) is a technique that prevents various security threats in advance by proactively changing the main attributes of the protected target to confuse the attacker. However, an analysis of existing MTD techniques revealed that, although they are capable of deceiving attackers, MTD techniques have practical limitations when applied to an actual cloud-computing system. These limitations include resource wastage, management complexity caused by additional function implementation and system introduction, and a potential increase in attack complexity. Accordingly, this paper proposes a software-defined MTD system that can flexibly apply and manage existing and future MTD techniques. The proposed software-defined MTD system is designed to correctly define a valid mutation range and cycle for each moving-target technique and monitor system-resource status in a software-defined manner. Consequently, the proposed method can flexibly reflect the requirements of each MTD technique without any additional hardware by using a software-defined approach. Moreover, the increased attack complexity can be resolved by applying multiple MTD techniques.

  • In this paper, a measurement system of moving distance is developed. The error compensation method is also proposed using the characteristics of walking motion. As personal navigation systems and multimedia systems are emerging into the commericial market, men´s moving distance is considered as one of the important information. GPS offers the information easily but GPS can be used only when the satellites are visible. INS can calculate the moving distance anywhere but error is increased with time due to the sensor bias. In this paper, to detect the human walking distance a measurement system of moving distance only using low-cost accelerometer is developed. The sensor bias is estimated and compensated using the walking motion characteristics. The performanced of the proposed system is verified by experiment.

  • In this paper, a new stereo 3D moving-target tracking system using the MSE (mean square error) and BPEJTC (binary phase extraction joint transform correlator) algorithms is proposed. A moving target is extracted from the sequential input stereo image by applying a region-based MSE algorithm following which, the location coordinates of a moving target in each frame are obtained through correlation between the extracted target image and the input stereo image by using the BPEJTC algorithm. Through several experiments performed with 20 frames of the stereo image pair with $640{\times}480$ pixels, we confirmed that the proposed system is capable of tracking a moving target at a relatively low error ratio of 1.29 % on average at real time.

  • We developed a recognition and tracking system of moving objects. The system consists of one CCD video camera, two DC motors in horizontal and vertical axles with encoders, pluse width modulation(PWM) driving unit, 16 bit NEC 9801 microcomputer, and their interfaces. The recognition and tracking system is able to recognize shape and size of a moving object and is able to track the object within a certain range of errors. This paper presents the brief introduction of the recognition and tracking system developed in our laboratory.

  • In this paper we proposed a PTZ camera system which automatically detect and track moving objects in the image. Once a moving object is detected the PTZ camera traces it in real-time. We proposed the control system which does not depend on camera focusing functionality but uses the object's center, moving direction, distance and speed. We implemented the system with the TI DM6446 DSP chip. The experimental result shows that the system has excellent performance for high speed vehicles.

  • The Timoshenko beam theories are used to model the rotating shaft. The nondimensional equations of motion for the rotating shaft subjected to moving mass and compressive axial forces are derived by using Hamilton's principle. Influence of system parameters such as the speed ratio. the mass ratio and the Rayleigh coefficient is discussed on the response of the moving system. The effects of compressive axial forces are also included in the analysis. The results are presented and compared with the available solutions of a rotating shaft subject to a moving mass and a moving load.

  • An effective algorithm for implementation of unmanned surveillance system which detects moving object from image sequences, predicts the direction of it, and drives the camera in real time is proposed. Outputs of proposed algorithm are coordinates of location of moving object, and they are converted to the values according to camera model. As a pre- processing, extraction of moving object and shape discrimination are performed. Existence of the moving object or scene change is detected by computing the temporal derivatives of consecutive two or more images in a sequence, and this result of derivatives is combined with the edge map from one original gray level image to obtain the position of moving object. Shape discri-mination(Target identification) is performed by analysis of distribution of projection profiles in x and y directions. To reduce the prediction error due to the fact that the motion cha- racteristic of walking man may have an abrupt change of moving direction, an order adaptive lattice structured linear predictor is proposed.
