In this paper, ground vibration analysis methods for train transit on bridges are studied. Train loads acting on the piers are evaluated considering the interactions between the trains and the bridge. The 2D in-plane wave propagation method and the axisymmetric wave propagation method are used in the ground vibration analysis, and then the results of the ground vibration are compared. A modified axisymmetric method is presented, which can consider the effect of the train loadings on a series of piers as the train moves.

Let G be a connected graph. A pebbling move on a graph G is taking two pebbles off one vertex and placing one of them on an adjacent vertex. The pebbling number of a connected graph G, f(G), is the least n such that any distribution of n pebbles on the vertices of G allows one pebble to be moved to any specified, but arbitrary vertex by a sequence of pebbling moves. In this paper, the pebbling numbers of the lexicographic products of some graphs are computed.

As the power industry moves towards open competition, there has been a call for methodology to evaluate power system reliability by using customer interruption costs. This paper presents an evaluation of the interruption costs for public customers in Korea using customer survey methodology. When various research results are examined, the evaluation of direct interruption costs becomes much more simplified. Especially, in the case of public customers, it is known that the evaluation of direct interruption costs is more useful. Accordingly, this paper selected the customer survey method to evaluate the interruption costs for public customers in Korea considering interruption and customer characteristics.

We have studied a model and application that evolves the behavioral knowledge of a virtual robot. The knowledge is represented in classification rules and a neural network, and is learned by a genetic algorithm. The model consists of a virtual robot with behavior knowledge, an environment that it moves in, and an evolution performer that includes a genetic algorithm. We have also applied our model to an environment where the robots gather food into a nest. When comparing our model with the conventional method on various test cases, our model showed superior overall learning.

Each LCD TFT panel requires a power supply IC on the panel board. The IC provides the power rails for the timing controller, source and gated driver IC and others. The industry trend moves towards higher integrated devices. The challenge for the panel manufacturer is the development and implementation of such an IC in cooperation with the semiconductor supplier. If not done carefully the solution will not reduce the overall solution cost or can't provide the expected performance and reliability. This paper discusses the key considerations to successfully develop and integrate a highly integrated LCD bias IC into the system.

RMQC, rail mounted quay crane, lifts and moves large container by means of hoist and trolley motion on the dock. Our company is trying to develop advanced RMQC applying the concepts of elevator hoist and container conveyer for the automation and high efficiency in handling the boxes. Prior to the development of new products, it is necessary to check the capacity of the new systems using simulation program. The program simulates container-handling rates and gives some design factors for the new-type cranes.

The influence of nonlinear phenomena on the behavior of stationary forced flexural-gravity waves on the surface of deep water is investigated, when the perturbation of external pressure moves with near-resonant velocity. It is shown that there are three branches of bounded stationary solutions turning into asymptotic solutions of the linear problem with zero initial conditions. For the first time ice sheet destruction by turbulent fluctuations of atmosphere pressure in ice adjacent layer in wind conditions is studied.

This paper aimes to analyse the housing market of Ulsan, that changed for Metroplolitan city in 1997. For the housing policy we need sufficient informations on the housing market appeared during the last five years. As a result, we can describe its housing market in a uniform way: Ulsan, compared with other cities, doesn't show varieties in households, housing type, housing conditions etc.. Concerning the housing preference, the results of our survey also show the uniformity. And the price of apartment in Ulsan moves relatively slowly to other cities.

This paper deal with analysis linear Halbach array. For the theoretical analysis of linear Halbach array, each magnetic vector of permanent magnet is displied by the Furiere series. A result of analytical method to calculate the magnetic flux density compared with a result of numerical method. when linear Halbach array moves above a conductivity material, a developed force between linear Halbach array and a closed loop is analyzed by the theoretical analysis.
