  • The first design elements of horizontal alignment are very important things for improvement or movement in Railway. When the design elements are lost or damaged, it is necessary to recalculation. In this paper, an investigation is made on the method of representation of horizontal alignment as a result of design element using GPS method. The results show that northing calculated about $2\~10$ meters and easting calculated about $0\~7$ meters between calculated and design data in center points.

  • Recently, while research for the ubiquitous networking and ubiqutous computing is gone with activity, RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) that recognize movement of things and take position advantage of RFID echnology in ubiquitous environment are required. In this paper, we propose and design a system that can taking customer's position in large size mart and analyzing customer's shopping movement to manage customer and merchandise of most suitable.

  • This study tries to fine out how the museum visitors use the public·service space. and in the sense that their movement in the spaces may have close relationship with visibility, it uses Isovist in order to fine out the causes on how they move around the public·service space. The study suggests that there is strong relationship between the visitors movement in the public·service spaces and visibility from a certain point. As far as the public·service spaces are concerned, therefore, it is important to consider visibility from certain point such as the museum hall or the main entrance.

  • This study intends to understand the visual experience of architectural space generated by users' movement based on the interpretation of visual properties. An analytic theory of Isovist is suggested for the objective and comparable measurement for such visual experience, and a computer program for the analysis has been proposed as well. By using the analytical theory and computer program, eight houses designed by Adolf Loos and Le Corbusler are analyzed for the purpose of understanding the visual characteristics of the Modern Architecture and the contemporaries. The result shows that, while the architectural space of Loos emphasizes personal privacy as for being livable spaces, the architectural space of Corbusier emphasizes users' movement as for including diverse visual arrays. These commensurable results exhibit that the analytical tool and research frame suggested in this study can be a competitive tool for such analysis.

  • With the continued integration through scientification and the progress I the technology of construction around the world Korea's inability to stay within the mainstream of the movement has put it in danger of losing it's very identity. As such Korean cityscapes are filled with overwhelming prevalence of buildings and constructs void of national identity but rather reflective of unconditional application of the western standards of architecture which has so far been the compass of the movement. Accordingly the purpose of this research is the understanding of the current world view concerning of architecture the critical regionalism through the examination of the background of theory which reflect the architectural Kenneth Prampton and also through Ricardo Legorrata Charles Correa Antoine Predock's analysis. Furthermore this research hopes to explore and offer a methodology through which a unique Korean identity can be established in Korea's Modern architecture.

  • Art Nouveau was a short-lived European phenomenon in art and architecture. Despite the fact that Art Nouveau architecture never fully succeeded as an anti-historical movement, it is important to identify its place in modern architectural historiography. The significance of Art Nouveau-that it incorporated decorative elements into the centre of architectural practice-certainly serves to acknowledge its place within the Modern Movement. Architectural works of Victor Horta, Hector Guimard and Charles Rennie Mackintosh are carefully examined in this paper to find out (1) how they individually emerged and manifested distinctive characteristics and creativity within their own local contexts, and (2) how they can collectively fit into historical discourse of Art Nouveau. Art Nouveau was not a mere fin-de-ci cle phenomenon, but a complicated transient phase at the dawn of European Modernism.

  • It opposition to visual luxury of Post modern Architecture a new tendency characterized as 'simplicity' emerged in architecture. It seems clear that such a tendency so called Minimal Architecture has risen as a reaction to the surfeit of sign and the mixture of languages generated by postmodernism. This new simplicity is also related to the tradition of Modern Architecture and the Minimal Art Movement is 1960's. They adopted simple is also related to the tradition of Modern Architecture and the Minimal Art Movement is 1960's. They adopted simple primary Volume to avoid the main fluence on the already chaotic urban environment As a result a strong monumentality is achieved. The main interests for 'minimal' architects seem to be the making of simple structure and the repetition of modular elements to achieve an economic and efficient construction method. Transparent and honest expression is preferred instead of attaching another ornament skin on to the skeleton of the architecture.

  • The purpose of the research is to reveal the process of the formation of modern church architecture in 20th century. In order to do that, neo-gothic architecture which starts in the point of view of ethic in the 19th century will be discussed first. Then the relations between Arts and Crafts Movement and church architecture which is the beginning of modern architecture movement will be revealed. After that, the purpose of Secession's church architecture which tried to separate from old architecture and the formation of background of localistic church architecture which is one of the modern church architecture will be discussed. Based on those discussions, the research in concluded the several characteristics of church architecture which makes it modern architecture. The research is focused to the portions which is related to the church architectures among the architectural conditions so complicated as to be easily confused. And also it is focused the architect those who should be mentioned in the same context and their works.

  • Fluctuation of control rod was experienced when plant was operating in normal operation mode in WH type NPPs. In order to cope with increased control rod fluctuation, the lead-lag controller setpoint for rod control system was optimized and resulted in increasing the margin of operation and minimizing unnecessary control rod movement. By optimization of the time constant, the margin of operation was increased by $1.5^{\circ}F$ and the control rod movement was not occurred due to mitigation of temperature fluctuation in loop. According to the mitigation of time constant, the margin of operation was increased but safety margin can be affected badly, so that the influences to FSAR design reference was evaluated. As the result of this evaluation, it satisfied the design reference of the existing safety analysis and was applied to NPP after obtaining the approval.

  • In high-capacity disk drives with ever-growing track density, the allowable level of position error signal (PES) is becoming smaller and smaller. A substantial portion of the PES is caused by disk vibration. This can be reduced by using a head gimbal assemblies (HGAs) that do not confine the slider movement to the vertical direction to disks, but allow movement to the radial direction of disks with respect to disk vibration. Several types of HGAs are proposed for such radial motion of the slider. Experimental results show that the PES levels are reduced by the proposed HGA-design concepts.
