We have analyzed the characteristics of IR lens mounting with elastomer and applied the results to the mounting of a silicon lens with diameter 117 mm which is the objective of a thermal imaging system. The elastomer, the 577 primerless silicone adhesive (Dow Corning Co.) which is heat cure type, and the mount material, A16061 are used for our analysis. Theoretical analysis gives the result that the space between lens and mount is required to be more than 250 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ under the operational temperature conditions of -40~+6$0^{\circ}C$.

DIRCM is a device that deception missiles by directing the light source to missile seeker with infra-red laser based turret. The effectiveness of the device is affected by changes of the turret's Field of View (FoV), and also influence of the interference devices determines the effect of the DIRCM's effectiveness. Therefore finding mounting location for DIRCM is critical parameter for the DIRCM's effectiveness. so we applied stiffness review, interference analysis, FoV analysis and simulation analysis method to Multi-purpose helicopter for the find DIRCM location. As a result, in case of 1 DIRCM mounted at helicopters bottom shows 30~40% survivability. case of 2 DIRCM mounted at both side shows 70~80% survivability.

In the development of Chip Mounter(C/M), much interests have risen regarding how to decrease the operation time of mounting the different chips on the printed circuit board(PCB). The existing method to determine the time sequence of teaching C/M was to follow the procedure which was made by the operater. IN this study, a new but effective algorithm has been developed and employed in SCM-130 Chip Mounter and its online programming had reduced the mounting time significantly and provided the basis for the future online CAD/CAM system.
Linear Astigmatism Free - Three Mirror System (LAF-TMS) is the linear astigmatism free off-axis wide field telescope with D = 150 mm, F/3.3, and $FOV=5.51^{\circ}{\times}4.13^{\circ}$. We report the design and analysis results of its mirrors and optomechanical structures. Tolerance allowance has been analyzed to the minimum mechanical tolerance of ${\pm}0.05mm$ that is reasonable tolerance for fabrication and optical alignment. The aluminum mirrors are designed with mounting flexure features for the strain-free mounting. From Finite Element Analysis (FEA) results of mounting torque and self-weight, we expect 33 - 80 nm RMS mirror surface deformations. Shims and the L-bracket are mounted between mirrors and the mirror mount for optical alignment. The mirror mount is designed with four light-weighted mechanical parts. It can stably and accurately fix mirrors, and it also suppresses some of stray light.
To estimate the location of the train, we consider an integrated navigation system that combines Inertial Navigation System (INS) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). This system provides accurate navigation results in open sky by combining only the advantages of both systems. However, since measurement update cannot be performed in GNSS signal blocked areas such as tunnels, mountain, and urban areas, pure INS is used. The error of navigation information increases in this area. In order to reduce this problem, the train's Non-Holonomic Constraints (NHC) information can be used. Therefore, we deal with the INS/GNSS/NHC integrated navigation system in this paper. However, in the process of installing the navigation system on the train, a Mounting Misalignment Error of the IMU (MMEI) inevitably occurs. In this case, if the NHC is used without correcting the error, the navigation error becomes even larger. To solve this problem, a method of easily estimating the MMEI without an external device is introduced. The navigation filter is designed using the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) by considering the MMEI. It is assumed that there is no vertical misalignment error, so only the horizontal misalignment error is considered. The performance of the integrated navigation system according to the presence or absence of the MMEI and the estimation performance of the MMEI according to the method of using NHC information are analyzed based on simulation. As a result, it is confirmed that the MMEI is accurately estimated by using the NHC information together with the GNSS information, and the performance and reliability of the integrated navigation system are improved.

This paper proposes a methodology for gantry route optimization in order to maximize the productivity of a odd-type surface mount device (SMD). A odd-type SMD is a machine that uses a gantry to mount electronic components on the placement point of a printed circuit board (PCB). The gantry needs a nozzle to move its electronic components. There is a suitability between the nozzle and the electronic component, and the mounting speed varies depending on the suitability. When it is difficult for the nozzle to adsorb electronic components, nozzle exchange is performed, and nozzle exchange takes a certain amount of time. The gantry route optimization problem is divided into the mounting order on PCB and the allocation of nozzles and electronic components to the gantry. Nozzle and electronic component allocation minimized the time incurred by nozzle exchange and nozzle-to-electronic component compatibility by using an mixed integer programming method. Sequence of mounting points on PCB minimizes travel time by using the branch-and-price method. Experimental data was made by randomly picking the location of the mounting point on a PCB of 800mm in width and 800mm in length. The number of mounting points is divided into 25, 50, 75, and 100, and experiments are conducted according to the number of types of electronic components, number of nozzle types, and suitability between nozzles and electronic components, respectively. Because the experimental data are random, the calculation time is not constant, but it is confirmed that the gantry route is found within a reasonable time.
Flash memory is widely used in embedded systems because of its benefits such as non-volatile, shock resistant, and low power consumption. However, NAND flash memory suffers from out-place-update, limited erase cycles, and page based read/write operations. To solve these problems, YAFFS and RFFS, the flash memory file systems, are proposed. However YAFFS takes long time to mount the file system, because all the files are scattered all around flash memory. Thus YAFFS needs to fully scan the flash memory. To provide fast mounting, RFFS has been proposed. It stores all the block information, the addresses of block information and meta data to use them at mounting time. However additional operations for the meta data management are decreasing the performance of the system. This paper presents a new NAND flash file system called ERFFS (Efficient and Reliable Flash File System) which provides fast mounting and recovery with minimum mata data management. Based on the experimental results, ERFFS reduces the flash mount/recovery time and the file system overhead.

Redesign of the mounting system to minimize vibration of a variable displacement engine through computer simulation is considered. A three degree of freedom model is established for an in-line four-cylinder automobile engine with a three point mounting system. The engine mount locations and angles, and isolator sizes are chosen as design parameters. Constraints on isolator deformations and design parameters are imposed. The gradient projection method is utilized for optimization. Simulation studies show significant vibration reduction can be obtained especially at idling speed.

Recently, the interest in technologies for a highly efficient powertrain, i.e. a variable displacement engine or a light weight car body, to improve the fuel efficiency of automobile saving the environment has been increased. However this trend deteriorates NVH performance of a vehicle and the use of a conventional engine mounting system becomes unsatisfactory. In order to solve this dilemma, an active engine mounting system that could isolate or cancel out vibrations occurred at the powertrain was suggested. In this paper, In order to optimize the electromagnetic active engine mount performance, the actuator of the engine mount through FEM analysis and optimal design, noise and elastomer testing of the prototype through the optimal design of actuators for the electromagnetic active engine mount on the impact of the performance improvement is verified.

This study is performed to evaluate and design the dynamic characteristics of the onboard machinery with resilient mounts. To avoid resonance with onboard machinery and external force, it is necessary to calculate natural frequencies of the resilient mounting system more accurately. Natural frequencies of on board machinery are determined by rigid body properties(mass, moment of inertia, center of mass) of machinery and stiffness of mounts. But it is very difficult to calculate rigid body properties theoretically. And stiffness properties of rubber mounts vary with dynamic displacement, pre load, frequency and temperature, and so on. In this study, we have identified rigid body properties using experimental modal analysis and estimated dynamic stiffness of rubber mount for onboard machinery using measured vibration response during seatrial. We measured displacement excitation through deck under mounts and evaluated relationship between modes of resilient mounting system and main excitation sources of a ship.
