Recently military industrial company, utilizing company funded R&D and goverment and industry contracts, has developed ACTS/DACS technology. This technology can be utilized to rapidly steer "smart" bullets, "smart" rounds, tactical missile, cruise missile and kill vehicles for both endo- and exoatmospheric applications. The ACTS/DACS typically consists of a Smart Bus Controller(SCB), a proprietary network firing bus, Smart Pyrotechnic Devices(SPD), rocket motors, and a structure. The SCB communicates with the SPDs over the propretary network firing bus. Each rocket motor contains an SPD which provides rocket motor ignition. Firing energy is stored locally in the SPD so surge currents do not occur in the system as rocket motors are fired. This approach allows multiple, truly simultaneous firings without the need for large, dedicated batteries. Each SPD also functions as a network tranceiver and high reliability fir set all in the space of a single-sided 10 millimeter diameter circuit. The present work develops a new means for igniting explosive materials. The volume of semiconductor bridge (SCB) is over 30 times smaller than a conventional hot wire. We believe that the present work has a potential for development of a new igniter such as smart pyrotechnic device.

Solar energy has its advantages not to be interruped by anything, which is wing to not only limitlessness in its source but shortness in its wave. Availing of tha advantages, we can look forword to vast allication. This study whose aim is to raise the effectuality of it by means of chasing the source correctly, which is to be acheved by the circularty of sensor. The consequence has been gained by two sensors is amplified and transfered to TTL leveland becomes "INPUT DATA" of INTE 8080CPU. The INTEL 8080CPU whose system is machinated to give cotrol pulse to moter driving circuit has the source and the sensors placed correctly on the basis of the data. DC motor taskes the advantage not to be in need of UP/DOWN counter, which is defferent from stepping motor. The system is composed of light detector, A/C converter, INPUT Interface, INTEL 8080 CPU, OUTPUT Interface, notor driving circiut. We can give correct chase to light experimentally as far as an error is the space of 1.2.ce of 1.2.
Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous motors (IPMSM) with concentrated winding are superior to distributed winding in the power density point of view. But it causes huge amount of eddy current losses on the permanent magnet. This paper presents the optimal permanent magnet V-shape on the rotor of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor to reduce the core losses and improve the performance. Each eddy current loss on permanent magnet has been investigated in detail by using FEM (Finite Element Method) instead of equivalent magnetic circuit network method in order to consider saturation and non-linear magnetic property. Simulation-based design of experiment is also applied to avoid large number of analyses according to each design parameter and consider expected interactions among parameters. Consequently, the optimal design to reduce the core loss on the permanent magnet while maintaining or improving motor performance is proposed by an optimization algorithm using regression equation derived and lastly, it is verified by FEM.

Small electric motors in an automobile perform various tasks such as engine cooling, pumping, HVAC etc. At present, most of them are DC motors supplied by 12V or 24V batteries. However, DC motors suffer from low efficiency, life cycles and reliability. Therefore, there is a growing interest in substituting DC motors for advanced at motors including switched reluctance motors(SRM). Although there are several other forms SRM convertors, they are either unsatisfactory to the control performance or unsuitable for the 12V battery source. Especially, a conventional asymmetric converter of SRM provides the best flexible and effective control to the current waveform of SRM, but it has the most switches and produces conducting voltage drops across two power switches during SRM operation. For automotive applications with a 12V battery source, this circuit is inadequate. For considering the requirement for effective operation and simple structure of converter in the limited internal circumstance of automobiles, the author inclines toward selecting Modified C-dump converter and Energy efficient c-dump converter.

Virtual testing devices are required due to rapid changes in the health care industry and the increase of the medical or nursing workforce. The importance of devices such as the simulator, blood vessels, and lab equipment for modeling blood flow to the heart is increasing too. In this study, we made heart pump by using a step motor and developed device which simulates arterial, venous blood pressure, and blood flow. We finally evaluated the function of proposed device. The proposed system is composed of the pump for simulating, the valve device to describe the resistance of the artery and vein, and a reducing device showing the characteristics of the venous system. We used BOXER pump for heart simulator and silicon tube for arterial and venous vessels, and designed a reducing device. We also used the pressure sensor to measure arterial blood pressure. For the evaluation of the proposed system, we selected a range of 50~100mmHg of the blood circuit 60 per minute and then compared the blood pressure of a person and the measured blood pressure.

A large-capacity three-phase system air conditioner recently includes an inverter circuit to reduce power consumption. The inverter circuit uses a DC voltage that comes from DC-link power capacitor with the function of rectifying, which means AC voltage to DC voltage using a diode. An electrolytic capacitor is generally used to satisfy the voltage ripple and current ripple conditions of a DC-link power capacitor used for rectifying. Reducing the capacitance of the capacitor decreases the size, weight, and cost of the circuit. This paper proposes an algorithm to reduce the input ripple current by combining the minimum point estimation phase locked loop (PLL) phase control and the average voltage d axis current control technique. When this algorithm was used, the input ripple current decreased by almost 90%. The current ripple of the DC-link capacitor decreased due to the decrease in input ripple current. The capacitor capacity can be reduced but the electrolytic capacitor has a heat generation problem and life-time limitations because of its large equivalent series resistance (ESR). This paper proposes a method to select a film capacitor considering the current ripple at DC-link stage instead of an electrolytic capacitor. The capacitance was selected considering the voltage limitation, RMS (Root Mean Square) current capacity, and RMS current frequency analysis. A $1680{\mu}F$ electrolytic capacitor can be reduced to a $20{\mu}F$ film capacitor, which has the benefit of size, weight and cost. These results were verified by motor operation.
This paper proposes a design and implementation of multiplierless digital PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controller using FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) for controlling the speed of DC motor in digital system. The multiplierless PID structure is based on Distributed Arithmetic (DA). The DA is an efficient way to compute an inner product using partial products, each can be obtained by using look-up table. The PID controller is designed using MATLAB program to generate a set of coefficients associated with a desired controller characteristics. The controller coefficients are then included in VHDL (Very high speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language) that implements the PID controller onto FPGA. MATLAB program is used to activate the PID controller, calculate and plot the time response of the control system. In addition, the hardware implementation uses VHDL and synthesis using FLEX10K Altera FPGA as target technology and use MAX+plusII program for overall development. Results in design are shown the speed performance and used area of FPGA. Finally, the experimental results can be shown when compared with the simulation results from MATLAB.
The switched reluctance motors(SRM) are simple and robust in structure. Because the wide range of power and speed, their application field is increasing. In order to design the motors and to evaluate the performance of them properly, an accurate study about the analysis of motor characteristics is required. In this paper, for the analysis of SRM characteristics, the finite element method which is based on the solution of combined equations both the electromagnetic field equations and the circuit equations of stator is adopted. The analysis model is to he assumed two-dimensional and the nonlinear property of magnetic materials is considered by Newton-Raphson method. To verify the usefulness of the proposed algorithm, commercial SRM is chosen and simulated. The computed torques obtained by Maxwell Stress Tensor are compared with the experimental data and it is found that they are in good agreement. By applying the proposed algorithm to two cases, currents of stator and torques at every angular positions of rotor are obtained step by step. Comparing them, one can recognize that torque ripple of SRM can he improved by controlling the switching sequences of driving circuits.
In a motor driving, the current rate is directly related to the rate of a switching device and in cost reduction, the parallel switching operation is the alternatives because it has the smaller current rate through current division. There are many investigations for the parallel switching operations to equaling the current division. However it remains many problems for practical usage. The reason is that the switching characteristics are mainly relied on the different saturation voltage of each device etc. and these factors are not altered by circuit designer. In order to compensate this problem, a proper resistance is experimently inserted to the switching device. But this method can not be the optimal solution. Therefore this paper proposes a new parallel operation which uses a parallel phase winding to remove the traditional effect of switching device such as saturation voltage according to the division of current. Also the reliable and stable driving is improved through experiments and the detailed principles.

In switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive, it is necessary to synchronize the stator phase excitation with the rotor position. Therefore the rotor position information is an essential. Usually optical encoders or resolvers are used to provide the rotor position information. These sensors are expensive and are not suitable for high speed operation. In general, the accuracy of the switching angle is dependent upon the resolution of the encoder and the sampling period of the microprocessor. But the region of high speed, switching angles are fluctuated back and forth from the preset values, which are cause by the sampling period of the microprocessor. Therefore, the low cost linear encoder suitable for the practical and stable SRM drive is proposed and the control algorithm to provide the switching signals using the simple digital logic circuit is also presented in this paper. It is verified from the experiments that the proposed encoder and logic controller can be a powerful candidate for the practical low cost SRM drive.
