  • Recently study on components for a electric golf car and a utility car driven by a electric motor has been performed actively, and the study on a drive motor, a inverter and a battery focuses on a small, light weight and high power density source to improve fuel efficiency using limited electric energy. Especially, since a utility car such as a golf car performance depends on initial acceleration and maximum speed capability, a drive system requires high power and large and wide operation area, This study therefore investigates on the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with high power density and wide operation, and is verified with the test result after design and characteristic analysis is performed.

  • Traction motors driven by high speed switching inverters is demanded higher operating temperature, severe duty cycles, higher starting current, frequent voltage transients and finally severe environmental exposure. For applications to inverter duty, traction motors needs a special insulation system, which has characteristics of increased bond strength, lower operating temperature and higher turn-to-turn insulation. In this paper, design considerations and manufacturing procedure of 200 Class insulation system with polyimde(Kapton) main insulation and silicone resin VPI process on the traction motor for EMU will be reviewed. And performance test and long life evaluation test which prove stability and long life evaluation test which prove stability and reliability of insulation system for traction motor will be introduced.

  • This paper describes advanced brushless DC motor drive without position sensor for home appliances with compressor to reduce the pulsating currents and vibration. The proposed method limits the motor currents during starting period and reduces commutation torque ripple during sensorless operating period. Experimental results show that the proposed method implemented in an inverter for a BLDC motor driven compressor considerably reduces not only the pulsating currents but also vibration of the home appliances.

  • This study was carried out about the manufacture of test equipment for traction Motor Driving. The power converter is driven by two converter serially and keep a high power factor of power source. This system is haven all the characteristic of voltage source converter by having a processing ability of regenerating power. The traction motor is controlled by IGBT inverter. The test equipment is composed of traction motor, torque-meter, clutch, and inertia body of tubular type.

  • This paper concerns with a method to improve the current and power waveforms of the variable speed $3{\Phi}$ AC motor system driven by the single-pulse PWM, and the current waveforms and $3{\Phi}$ power waveforms are analyzed by FFT under various running conditions. By the performance analysis through the experiments, the following results have been obtained. AC source of pseudo sine waveform can be obtained from the modulated alternating square voltage by means of the well designed LC filter. It is confirmed that current waveforms and $3{\Phi}$ power waveforms can be improved by utilizing the high order low pass LC filter than that of lower order. Especially, current waveforms and $3{\Phi}$ power waveforms tan be much improved at low frequency domain. $3{\Phi}$ power waveforms have a smatter ripple and bigger power by utilizing the high order low pass LC filter than that of lower order. Also, the running condition of $3{\Phi}$ AC motor is good at low frequency domain.

  • In this paper, the real time characteristics analyzing system is proposed to analyze characteristics of inverter. The system is consisted of DSP unit and personal computer. Conventionally, power conversion system is designed by the load and the use. And control characteristics for the designed power conversion system is evaluated by the control input. In order to study of control methods, power conversion system is required for a study of control methods and observed system is required for a analyzing of the inverter. Inverter system is consisted to evaluate for proposed real time characteristics analyzing system. And induction motor is driven by control input that is manufactured by personal computer. Output of inverter and control characteristics is variously analyzed.

  • In this paper, the experimental unit of the cross inductive radio line and two linear induction motors driven by IGBT inverter for train control was made. In actual condition, the track has straight line, but so as to be able to achieve in small space, the unit prepared was shaped into two circular plates. Then by detecting inductive signal, the position data could be obtained. Also the equipment representing speed and thrust of LIM and train position by means of the experimantal unit could be composed.

  • The windup phenomenon appears and results in the performance degradation when the PI controller output is saturated. A new anti-windup PI controller is proposed to improve the control performance of the variable-speed motor drives and it is experimentally applied to the speed control of a vector-controlled induction motor driven by a pulse width modulated(PWM) voltage source inverter (VSI). The integral state is separately controlled corresponding to whether the PI controller output is saturated or not. The experimental results show that the speed response has the much improved performances such as small overshoot and fast settling time over the conventional anti-windup technique. Although the operating speed command is changed, the similar control performance can be obtained by using the PI gains selected in the linear region.
