The Linkage between Emotional Labor and Stress Effects on Retail Sales Workers

  • Purpose: Retail workers have a role in attending to customers better, not only making sales to them. In this regard, this research focuses on having a clear understanding of the effects of emotional factors and job stress on mental health for retail sales workers. Research design, data and methodology: The present research conducted both a qualitative textual analysis and interview. This research method is quite useful because it relates the information collected with the research gap. Qualitative data is time-consuming type of data to analyze since it involves interpreting words rather than numbers. Results: The findings showed that emotional labor and stress may not only cause mental harm to the employees but can result in adverse reaction to the customers. Retail employees need to express their true emotions and avoid pretending to be helped with a clear understanding of their needs. Conclusion: This study conclude that motional labor and stress to the retail workers is a real issue that has affected many people around the globe and there is a need to conduct more research on the issue to help employees serve customers much better. Stress among sales workers results to poor working morale and thus affects the entire organization at large.

Levels and Countermeasures of PTSD among Police Officers (경찰관의 PTSD 수준 및 대처방안)

  • According to many studies, a large number of police officers who had recently been exposed to an emergency situation has serious psychological stress and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) symptoms impact on morale, absenteeism, occupational health, early retirement, family relationships. However, in Korea as it looked during the empirical study of police officers with PTSD had a few. In this study, levels of PTSD among police officers to identify and respond accordingly was to seek ways. The officer's PTSD levels vary according to the study is the relatively high level, when compared to firefighters is a relatively high level. So, I suggested some countermeasures. I presented discovery and management of high risk police officers, distribution of critical incident stress management, introduction of employee assistance programs, active intervention of colleagues and family members, training of stress management techniques.

  • Technology has been viewed at various stages of civilization as leading to future progress. The building, its services systems and management of the work process all contribute to the well-being of people within an organization. Productivity relies on there being a general sense of high morale and satisfaction with the workplace. Now buildings are considered as providing a milieu for human creativity. Flexibility, adaptability, service integration and high standards of finishes offer an intelligence threshold. Building Automation System(BAS) - controlled lighting systems may offer incremental energy saving. Conventional Lighting control systems often control equipment in a single room or over the limited area, because they are centralized control systems, which means that all the controlled circuits must be wired to a single control panel. The computers used by these systems are typically dedicated microprocess that perform only lighting control functions. By comparison, modern Building automation systems are distributed control system, which means that their computing hardware and software are distributed as a network that microprocessor-based control modules and standard PC. PLC(Programmable Logic controller) is extensible virtually without limits, so that all the lighting in a facility can be controlled by single, unified system - the same system that also can control and monitor the building's HVAC, security, and manufacturing processed, elevators, and more. A Building automation system can control light using schedules, manual controls, occupancy sensors, and photosensors, either singly or in combination. Building Lighting control and monitoring system will be for a energy saving and efficient building management system.

  • These days, the hospital management are paying more and more attention to the issue about the increasing employee's turnover ratio in hospital. Such issues are very important because the high turnover ratio reduce the productivity and morale of remaining workers, and means the unavoidable drainage of the accumulated know-how and technology of the hospital to the outsides. The result of such a negative development means the loss of competitive advantage compare to other hospitals. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how the management's leadership style influence on the job-satisfaction for the employees and the employee's turnover intension. At this time we will refer the effect of the hospital brand image as moderator. The result of this study could present the guide line to the hospital managers about the desirable leadership style to enhance the employee's productivity and also to reduce the turnover intention ratio.

  • This research started with the objective to clarify how policemen are affected by promotion by test among promotion system of police which is one of the very important factors deciding the efficiency of organization through morale of policemen and which is mentioned as a factor that raises morale of policeman. The job of police is the ground of life for policemen and the place of opportunity where they can find and develop the ego. Though it is difficult to perfectly realize diverse values and desires of individuals in the organizational society which is ruled by plural values, the organization is still responsible for grasping the desire and value of individual for organization and satisfying them to the minimal level. Nobody is free from stress in the past, present and future. That is, stress can be seen as a phenomenon that inevitably occurs in any occupation and environment. The stress factor of policeman in the organization that has been discussed all the time is the deficient opportunities of promotion. Thus, it is most important to manage the stress of members in the organization so as to efficiently operate police organization. If the factor of stress perceived by the members can be grasped and diminished, the efficiency of business will be increased. The objective of this research is to reduce the stress of policemen suffering in the test promotion system by analyzing the recognition of members, to find the method reducing stress by performing empirical research and to prepare alternatives in policy in the aspect of human resources in police and management of organization.

Police Officers' Cognitions of Police Investigation Specialization (수사경과제에 대한 경찰공무원의 인식)

  • This study set out to analyze the perceptions of investigative police officers and division police officers regarding Police Investigation Specialization, which had been in effect for four years, identify the problems, and search for alternative policies. The results led to the following alternative policies; first, the communication among the members should be facilitated by trading the jobs between investigative policemen and division members in certain percentage regularly, integrating job education and special work, and developing diverse support programs for detective activities to provide them with opportunities to experience and understand investigation. The second suggestion concerns the investigation members' morale. There should be a range of measures to boost their moral such as allocating separate budget and personnel to support the investigation department and the treatment of major criminal and civil cases, giving each investigation team an office and investigation room to improve their working environment, readjusting the promotion ratio of Police Investigation Specialization to introduce a promotion system proper for each investigation's characteristics. The third suggestion is to secure job efficiency. It's required to reinforce the current short-term specialized education program to bring up practical and professional investigators, open the certification exam of professional investigators to all members so that every policeman can have their abilities recognized and approved as long as they have the demanded capabilities, and create a system of shedding off the members idle at work by reflecting low performance records when evaluating the members to decide who to dismiss from Police Investigation Specialization. And finally, it's important to divide duties rationally. The rationality of duties division can be guaranteed by setting the guidelines for direct handling for the team leader to help him devote himself to his duties, defining objective criteria of measuring investigation workload, and creating devoted systems and teams for simple and small accidents so that experienced investigators can deal with high-profile cases.

  • In terms of reinforcing the functions and services of rescue 119 and emergency corps, we must review the following considerations : Building up security system along with operational expansion, building up a system for emergency medical treatment, buliding up a comprehensive information management system for rescue and emergency, constructing a provincial safety museum and so forth. For the ways to better the works of rescue 119, we can review the following considerations : Improving the education for fire fighting trainging corps under Jeju Provicial Fire and disaster management department, providing rescue members with more opportunity for clinical practices, enhancing the morale of rescue members, installing a comprehensive briefing room for emergency rescue members, building up medical networks along with reasonable policies for information service, operating the consulting system for rescue 119 and so on. Provide little more superior quality high fire fighting service to jeju islander, and need long-term and elaborate research to correspond in rising fire fighting man-power demand newly and investment. Construction of well-matched disaster administration system is assignment that must hurry in international free city. That jejudo receives time factor about that is received for another thing area's number of persons or equipment when regional special quality large scale or disaster happens is that of course the support receives limitation immediately. Jeju fire fighting services is one story reform, specialization taking into account particular situation of jeju area to grow as sightseeing and center of culture intending international free city, should be upgraded. So, it may do big contribution naturally in jeju international free city phase that coincide jeju islander's social welfare promotion and safety desire.

  • Organizations pursue a CRM strategy for the purpose of increasing business performance and value. However, firms face a multitude of organizational challenges associated with this endeavor. To reduce their risk of failure, it is suggested that firms undertake a deep analysis of organizational readiness prior to committing to a CRM initiative. Insurance sector is no exception to this fact. There is an increased need to concentrate on the various challenges thrown open by the public insurance firms in implementing CRM. Many insurance firms have invested into customer driven CRM but research indicates varying outcomes (Schmith 2004). While it is clear that there are significant issues involved in the CRM implementation and success and environment faced by the public sector. It is clear that business should have an easier time in applying CRM systems is the strategic value for public sector. With customers demanding more service and accessibility from administrators, public sector CRM software technologies have to offer best solutions for achieving process and cost objectives (Souder 2001). With results which go far beyond improved service delivery and include sustained cost reductions, increased customer knowledge and better employee morale, CRM software implementation and post product environments offer great upside value. Although there are material differences in public sector use of CRM strategy, they share at least one glaring similarity - they have much to gain from proven CRM software technology. As business methods cross over in the public sector, many government bodies are investigating how they can adopt and adapt various CRM models (Bleyer 2003). There is a need to understand the similarities and differences in public sector CRM to foster shared knowledge, business processes and planning functions to integrate disparate technologies and software platforms and then, of course, the organizational culture to support knowledge sharing (Peters 1997). For the public sector, there are clearly identified CRM processes which have resulted in increased profits and improved efficiency. These have focused on sales, marketing and customer service activities, which often operate along fundamentally different lines in various public sector insurance companies. Thus the present research paper makes an attempt to explore how public sector CRM methods can be adopted and subsequently adapted.

The Impact of Transformational and Transactional Leadership on Job Performance (변혁적 리더십과 거래적 리더십이 직무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The objective of this thesis is to analyze the impact of transactional and transformational leadership styles on job performance. This research employs questionnaire surveys and statistical analysis to examine the relationships among the three variables. The subjects of this thesis are bank employees, and the survey was conducted using a random sampling method via online questionnaires. Data was statistically analyzed using SPSS 28.0, which included frequency analysis, reliability and validity analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The findings indicate that transformational leadership can significantly enhance job performance by encouraging innovation and boosting employee morale. Conversely, transactional leadership, with its excessive emphasis on rules and procedures and a strict reward and punishment system, may limit employees' innovative capabilities and reduce their satisfaction, thus negatively affecting job performance. This thesis contributes to understanding the impact of leadership styles on organizational effectiveness, advancing leadership theories, and providing theoretical support for organizational management decisions.

  • Since 1992, conventional fire fighting businesses have been converted into a metropolitan autonomous fire fighting system to be ready for a variety of disasters. However, the corresponding investment has been overlapped due to the non-integration of businesses to prevent any potential disasters, and a series of collaborative systems have been not functioning so well. In the meantime, our fire fighting sector has been trying to set up its own clean and faithful position by abolishing any inconvenient system or outsourcing private sectors, and expanded its work scope from conventional fire fighting even to rescue and emergency works. While focusing on handling disaster, the fire fighting sector has been widely trusted and reliable throughtout our nation. Moreover, our fire fighting sector has secured nation wide mobile organizations, technical personnel by field, special equipments and independent communication network. In addition, the fire fighting sector has knowledges, expertise and capabilities required for managing disasters, while in charge of almost every disaster management works including fire, explosion, collapse, disaster and flood. It becomes an organization for comprehensive disaster management under an absolute national trust, which is based on the system for prevention, preparation and countermeasure against a variety of disasters. Thus, our fire fighting sector must make many efforts and try to modernize conventional education and training. The ways to facilitate rescue and emergency works may include the nurture of technical fire fighting personnel along with modernized equipments, the reinforcement of rescue and emergency education, the facilitation of operating civil defense corps, the facilitation of operating volunteer fire fighting corps, the better arrangement of 119 briefing room for public healthcare in provincial offices, the sterilization of rescue instruments and equipments the better repair education for emergency rescue member, the establishment of regional emergency assistant system and the expansion of fire fighting personnel and equipments. In terms of reinforcing the functions and services of rescue 119 and emergency corps, we must review the following considerations: Building up security system along with operational expansion, building up a system for emergency medical treatment, building up a comprehensive information management system for rescue and emergency, constructing a provincial safety museum and so forth.
