In this paper we made energy consumption units of glass curtain wall type apartment and general apartment in Busan metropolitan city and compared energy consumption characteristics by building envelope. The monthly electricity consumption units of general apartment were shown in the range of $1.16{\sim}1.51kWh/m^2{\cdot}mon$ which were indicated higher value in January, February, August and September with little variation. On the other hand, in case of glass curtain wall type apartment, monthly electricity consumption units were represented in the range of $1.91{\sim}7.07kWh/m^2{\cdot}mon$ with significant fluctuations monthly, which were outstandingly high in July, August and September. The monthly city gas consumption units of general apartment were found to be in the range of $1.79{\sim}18.07MJ/m^2{\cdot}mon$, while glass curtain wall type apartment were within $0.94{\sim}19.91MJ/m^2{\cdot}mon$. City gas consumption units from December to March were shown highly in both type apartments. The monthly energy consumption units of general apartment were found to be within $14.23{\sim}30.69MJ/m^2{\cdot}mon$, while glass curtain wall type apartment were within $24.49{\sim}68.9MJ/m^2{\cdot}mon$. Energy consumption units of glass curtain wall type apartment were suggested 4.84 times higher than those of general apartment.
The purpose of this study is to investigate climatological variations from the sea surface temperature (SST), chlorophyll-a concentration (Chl-a), and phytoplankton size class (PSC), using NOAA AVHRR, SeaWiFS, and MODIS data in the South Sea of Korea (SSK) and East China Sea (ECS). 26-year monthly SST and 13-year monthly Chl-a and PSC data, separated by whole and nine-different areas, were used to understand seasonal and inter-annual variations. SST and Chl-a clearly showed seasonal variations: higher SST and Chl-a were observed during the summer and spring, and lower values occurred during the winter and summer. The annual and monthly SST over 26 years increased by $0.2{\sim}1.0^{\circ}C$. The annual and monthly Chl-a concentration over 13 years decreased by $0.2{\sim}1.1mg/m^3$. To determine more detailed spatial and temporal variations, we used the combined data with monthly SST, Chl-a, and PSC. Between 1998 and 2010, the inter-annual trend of Chl-a decreased, with decreasing micro- and nano-size plankton, and increasing pico-size plankton. In regional analysis, the west region of the study area was spatially and temporally correlated with the area dominated by decreasing micro-size plankton; while the east region was less sensitive to coastal and land effects, and was dominated by increasing pico-size plankton. This phenomenon is better related to one or more forcing factors: the increased stratification of ocean driven by changes occurring in spatial variations of the SST caused limited contributions of nutrients and changed marine ecosystems in the study area.
The spatial distribution of precipitation trends according to urbanization, geographical and topographical conditions have been studied. In this study, precipitation data from 1973 to 2006 were analyzed for 56 climatological stations including the Seoul metropolis in South Korea. In addition to annual average daily precipitation, monthly average daily precipitation in April, July, October and January were analyzed, considering seasonal effect. The geographical and topographical characteristics of these sites were examined using GIS analysis. Land use status of the study area was also examined to estimate the extent of urbanization. The study results indicate that annual average precipitation increased, and monthly average precipitation in April and October decreased, while those in January and July increased. Considering urbanization effect, annual average precipitation and monthly average precipitation in July increased; however, monthly average precipitation in January, April and October decreased. Furthermore, compared with urbanization rate and proximity to coast, average elevation of study area appeared to be the most close correlation with annual and monthly averages of precipitation trends.

Universal soil loss equation (USLE) is used to estimate soil loss solely or employed in any hydrologic models. Since soil erosion has been an issue in South Korea for decades, the Ministry of Environment enacted a law to regulate soil erosion in 2012, which is the Notification of topsoil erosion status. The notification is composed of preliminary and field investigations, the preliminary investigation suggests to use USLE and provides USLE factors. However, the USLE factors provided in the notification was prepared at least 10 years ago, therefore it is limited to reflect recent climate changes. Moreover the current yearly USLE approach does not provide an opportunity to consider seasonal variation of soil erosion in South Korea. A GIS-based model was therefore applied to evaluate the yearly USLE approach in the notification. The GIS-based model employs USLE to estimate soil loss, providing an opportunity to estimate monthly soil loss with monthly USLE factor databases. Soil loss was compared in five watersheds, which were Geumgang, Hangang, Nakdonggang, Seomjingang, and Yeongsangang watersheds. The minimum difference was found at Seomjingang watershed, the yearly potential soil loss were 40.15 Mg/ha/yr by the notification approach and 34.42 Mg/ha/yr by the GIS-based model using monthly approach. And, the maximum difference was found at Nakdonggang watershed, the yearly potential soil loss were 27.01 Mg/ha/yr by the notification approach and 10.67 Mg/ha/yr by the GIS-based model using monthly approach. As a part of the study result, it was found that the potential soil loss can be overestimated in the notification approach.

The results of difference analysis of post-purchase satisfaction according to the demographic variables and the purchase items were as follows, The post-purchase satisfaction in price showed the significant difference according to age and monthly income. The one in design showed the significant difference according to educational level and occupation. The one in fashion showed the significant difference according to marriage or non-marriage, age, educational level and occupation. The one in the wearing sensation showed the significant difference according to marriage or nonmarriage, age, educational level, occupation. The one in transformation showed the significant difference according to educational level, monthly income, purchase item. The one in laundry and management convenience showed the significant difference according to monthly income and purchase item. Finally, the one in pollution level showed the significant difference according to age, monthly income, occupation, and purchase item.
Methods of predicting water resources availiability of a river basin can be classified as empirical formula, water budget analysis and regression analysis. The purpose of this study is to develop a method to estimate the monthly runoff required for long-term water resources development project. Using the monthly runoff data series at gaging stations alternative multiple regression models were constructed and evaluated. Monthly runoff volume along with the meteorological and physiographic parameters of 48 gaging stations are used, those of 43 stations to construct the model and the remaining 5 stations to verify the model. Regression models are named to be Model-1, Model-2, Model-3 and Model-4 developing on the way of data processing for the multiple regressions. From the verification, Model-2 is found to be the best-fit model. A comparison of the selected regression model with the Kajiyama's formula is made based on the predicted monthly and annual runoff of the 5 watersheds. The result showed that the present model is fairly resonable and convinient to apply in practice.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence middle-aged people's retirement planning and financial preparation for old age. The data was derived from "the National Survey of Families 2015". The samples included 1,462 people from 40 to 64 years of age. The findings from the analysis showed that the level of retirement planning was significantly associated with gender, age, education level, employment status, monthly family income, monthly expenditure on spending to support parents, and perceived household economic condition. When the samples were divided by sex, the results showed that the perceived household economic condition was the most significant factor for both men and women's level of retirement planning. Age and education level were the significant factors for women's level of retirement planning but not for men's. Logistic regression was used to analyze whether middle-aged people made financial preparation for old age. For the whole sample, whether or not a person was a regular employee, monthly family income, monthly expenditure on supporting parents, perceived household economic condition, and retirement planning were significant variables in determining financial preparation. For men, whether or not a person was a regular employee, monthly family income, perceived household economic condition, and retirement planning were significant factors, for women whether or not a person was a regular employee, and retirement planning were the significant factors in determining financial preparation. The results implied that retirement planning is needed for middle-aged people to prepare for old age financially while the financial preparation should differ depending on sex.
This study investigated the variations in monthly PM2.5 concentrations and their characteristics at the sampling site (35.075°N, 129.080°E) around the Busan seaport area for six months (from August 2020 to January 2021). Monthly PM2.5 concentrations in the filtered samples ranged from 8.4 to 42.3 ㎍/m3 (average=19.6±8.2 ㎍/m3, n=50) and were generally high in August, December, and January, and low in September, October, and November. The variations of monthly PM2.5 concentrations showed similar patterns to those of the neighboring national air quality monitoring sites. The contents of Total Carbon (TC), Organic Carbon (OC), Elemental Carbon (EC), and OC/EC ratios in PM2.5 showed large variability during the study period. The OC/EC ratios ranged from 4.2 to 34.4, suggesting that the relative contributions of OC and EC to the PM2.5 concentrations changed temporally and might be related to their formation sources. Variations in the chemical components of and particle size distributions in PM2.5 showed that high PM2.5 concentrations were affected by various sources, such as sea salt and ship emission. The precursor gas concentrations were discussed in terms of monthly variations and their contributions to PM2.5 concentrations. However, further research is needed to understand the characteristics and behaviors of PM2.5 concentrations around the Busan seaport area.
In this study, the annual and monthly groundwater recharge for the Sapgyo-cheon upstream basin in Chungnam Province was evaluated by water balance analysis utilizing WetSpass-M model. The modeling input data such as topography, climate parameters, LAI (Leaf Area Index), land use, and soil characteristics were established using ArcGIS, QGIS, and Python programs. The results showed that the annual average groundwater recharge in 2001 - 2020 was 251 mm, while the monthly groundwater recharge significantly varied over time, fluctuating between 1 and 47 mm. The variation was high in summer, and relatively low in winter. Variation in groundwater recharge was the largest in July in which precipitation was heavily concentrated, and the variation was closely associated with several factors including the total amount of precipitation, the number of days of the precipitation, and the daily average precipitation. This suggests the extent of groundwater recharge is greatly influenced not only by quantity of precipitation but also the precipitation pattern. Since climate condition has a profound effect on the monthly groundwater recharge, evaluation of monthly groundwater recharge need to be carried out by considering both seasonal and regional variability for better groundwater usage and management. In addition, the mathematical tools for groundwater recharge analysis need to be improved for more accurate prediction of groundwater recharge.

This study was conducted to analyse the dine out behaviors for single-person households using the Consumer Behavior Survey for Food in 2019. The results showed that the respondents had different dine out behaviors according to their age. 20s~30s and 40s~50s single-person household tend to dine out more frequently than 60s~70s. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in the most important selection criteria when choosing a restaurant (p=0.063), but 39.7% of 20s~30s 43.1% of 40s~50s, and the 38.3% of 60s~70s respondents selected 'the taste of food', and the young people (20s~30s) who chose 'cleanliness of the restaurant' were second with 39 people (15.5%), but in the opinion of 40s~50s and 60s~70s, 'price level' was the second most important selection criteria. Besides, frequency of buying food at home was the influencing factor for 20s~30s' monthly expenditure of dinning out, while frequency of buying food at home, monthly expenditure of buying delivery or take-out food were the factors for 40s~50s. Lastly, gender, occupation as well as monthly expenditure of buying delivery or take-out food were the factors for 60s~70s' monthly expenditure of dinning out. As many studies have shown that the expenditures single-person households play an important role in the restaurant business, the results of this study are necessary for food service industry to generate different business strategy to single-person household by age.
