VaRTM 공법을 이용한 자동차용 엔진후드 개발 (Properties of CFRP by VaRTM process and its application to automobile engine hood)

  • The using of composite material is an aviation field but it changes into a general industry. Especially composites are expanding the use on transportation vehicles like automobiles, ships, and aircrafts. The main factor of this expansion is high specific strength. It can supply a high quality and efficiency of energy. But manufacturing of composite products requires many raw materials and tooling cost for special process, so we needs a reduction of these costs to achieve best efficiency. In the present study, we contrast the change of mechanical and physical properties between VaRTM(Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding) and hand lay-up process. VaRTM process can offer a high quality the same as autoclave products, and low cost like hand lay-up process. In the results of mechanical tests, VaRTM specimen is stronger than hand lay-up specimen and hand lay-up specimen became delamination. In the results of physical tests, the resin content of VaRTM specimen is lower than hand lay-up specimen. On micrograph, the strength of specimen by VaRTM between fiber and resin is stronger than that of one by hand lay-up. And the specimen by hand lay-up contains more defects than one by VaRTM. So, VaRTM process can practically apply for automobile engine hood. This paper shows that VaRTM process is one of the most suitable processes for composite parts of automobile.

저수조의 효율적 관리를 위한 수질실태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Water Quality for Efficient Management in the Water Tanks)

  • This study tried to investigate and analyze the actual state such as the regional, classified, and material characteristics of the water quality in order to research the several factors by which the filtrated water of the total 250 cases can be polluted in the water tank. The 215 points (86%) clean the water tanks twice a year regularly and J-city has done the best job of cleaning the water tanks. The fifty points (20%) of the total 250 investigation points examine the water quality of the water tanks every year, however, the 175 investigation points (70%) do not execute the inspection of water quality. In the case of the regional characteristics in the water quality, the 23 points (46%) in H-county, the 17 points (34%) in S-county, and the 16 points (32%) in G-city are incongruent in the standard, and the incongruity ratio of the water quality in J-city is the lowest. The result of the classified incongruity shows that total coliforms were found at the 61 investigation points, mesophilic bacteria were found at the 27 points, and turbidity was found at the 12 points. In the case of the material incongruity, concrete was found at the 63 investigation points as the most distinguished factor, and FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) at the 23 points, SMC (sheet molding compound) at the 12 points, and stainless steel was found at the 2 points.

금속사출 유동선단온도에 영향을 미치는 주요 인자들의 상호관계 및 반응표면분석 (Interaction Factors and Response Surface Analysis on the Factors Influencing the Flow Front Temperature at Metal Injection Mold)

  • The objective of this study is to optimize the Metal Injection Molding(MIM) process with design of experiments(DOE) and numerical analysis. To derive the optimal process condition, experiment or numerical analysis was performed under various process conditions. To analyze the interaction among influential factors contributing to the temperature at flow front and response surface in MIM, both central point and axial point were added to the full factorial design with 2 levels and 5 factors and then their impacts on response variable in 43 experimental conditions were analyzed and the significance was evaluated. As a result, sprue, runner, and gate were completely filled in about 0.247 seconds after injection, the front part of the green body was filled in about 0.3344 seconds, the green body except gate, etc changed to almost solid state in about 3.29 seconds, the Packinging pressure was completed in about 6.29 seconds, and the green body inside and outside and sprue, etc became solid in 13.2 seconds. The impact of individual or reciprocal action of factors on the temperature at flow front was analyzed through regular probability, test statistics, main effect, and interaction effect. As a result, of a total of 31 combinations of factors, 9 unit factors and reciprocal actions were significant, and the screening was also possible. A proper regression equation was drawn with regression analysis and response surface design on the response variable of temperature at flow front, and the applicability could be verified.

  • RTM은 작은 크기에서 큰 크기의 복합재료를 생산할 수 있는 대량 생산 공정이다. 최근 경화 시간이 약 10분 이내인 속경화 수지가 자동차 및 항공우주 산업에 사용되고 있다. 수지의 점도는 경화 정도와 관련이 있으며, 금형 내부로 충진되는 과정에서 급격히 점도가 변할 수 있다. 따라서 속경화 수지의 유동 특성과 경화도를 해석적으로 예측하는 데 많은 노력이 필요하므로 실험적으로 측정하고 평가하는 것이 유리하다. 복합재료의 경화도를 측정하는 방법은 대표적으로 DMA, 유전기법 등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 다채널 경화 모니터링 시스템을 이용하여 속경화 수지의 유동과 경화도를 측정하였다. 총 8채널의 유전센서가 사용되었으며, 다양한 압력 조건에 따른 금형 내부의 유동과 경화도를 측정하고 상호 비교하였다.

Leadframe SiP with Conformal Shield

  • System In Package (SiP) is getting popular and momentum for the recent wearable, IoT and connectivity application apart from mobile phone. This is driven by market demands of cost competitive, lighter and smaller/thinner and higher performance. As one of many semiconducting assembly products, Leadframe product has been widely used for low cost solution, light/ small and thin form factor. But It has not been applied for SiP although Leadframe product has many advantages in cost, size and reliability performance. SiP is mostly based on laminate substrate and technically difficult on Leadframe substrate because of a limitation in SMT performance. In this paper, Leadframe based SiP product has been evaluated about key technical challenges in SMT performance and electrical shield technology. Mostly Leadframe is considered not available to apply EMI shield because of tie-bar around package edge. In order to overcome two major challenges, connection bars were deployed properly for SMT pad to pad and additional back-side etching was implemented after molding process to achieve electrical isolation from outer shield coating. This product was confirmed assembly workability as well as reliability.

극소형 LED 패키지 개발의 문제점과 해결 방안 (Problems and Solutions for Ultra-compact LED Package Development)

  • 본 논문은 1mm 이하의 극소형 LED 패키지 개발 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 여러 문제점들을 제시하고 이에 대한 해결 방안을 소개한다. 기존의 금형 구조는 상하 코어부가 일체형으로 이루어져 극소형 모델의 경우 EDM(Electric Discharge Machining)의 마찰계수로 인해 다양한 오류가 발생하였고 금형의 크기를 더 줄이는데 한계 요소가 되었다. 이의 개선 방안으로 선행 연구에서 조립식 모델을 제시하여 극소형 LED 패키지 개발의 방해 요소를 극복하려 하였다. 본 논문에서는 제시된 모델에 대한 결과물을 산출하기 위한 전초 작업으로 시제품을 제작하는 중에 여러 가지 문제점이 발견되었는데 이에 대한 유형을 제시하고 해결 방안을 논한다. 그리고 같은 크기의 Lead Frame(L/F) 안에 2열 구조를 3열 구조로 배치함으로써 효율적인 생산을 고려한다. 실험 과정을 통해 제시한 해결 방안을 검증하고 시제품을 양산하기 위한 테스트를 행하여 양질의 제품을 생산할 수 있는지를 확인한다.

VARTM 공정에서의 금형 충전 및 기공 형성에 관한 3차원 수치해석 (Three-Dimensional Numerical Simulation of Mold-Filing and Void Formation During Vacuum-Assisted Resin Transfer Molding)

  • 최근 대형 복합재료 구조물 성형에 적합한 공정으로 주목받는 vacuum assisted RTM (VARTM) 공정에 있어, 보강섬유의 조직 내부에 잔류하는 공기를 제거하여 기공함유율을 낮추는 기술의 중요성이 인식되고 있다. 거대기공 혹은 불완전 함침영역은 부적절한 주입구 및 공기배출구의 위치, 혹은 금형의 형상에 의해 발생한다. 미세기공은 불균일한 수지 유동선단의 속도로 인해 유동선단 부분에서 집중적으로 형성되며, 금형충전 공정 도중 수지와 함께 이동한다. 성형이 완료된 제품내의 잔류 기공들은 완성품의 물리적 성질을 저하 및 제품의 파손을 초래할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 VARTM 공정에서의 기공의 형성 및 이동을 해석할 수 있는 통합된 거시적/미시적 해석 방법을 개발하였다. 수치해석 프로그램을 개발하여 VARTM 공정에서의 3차원 수지 유동을 해석하였으며, 그에 따른 거대기공 및 미세기공의 분포를 예측하였다.

인문사회의학 교육과정 개선을 위한 제안 (Suggestions for the Improvement of Medical Humanities Education)

  • Medical humanities has become a third area of medical education following basic and clinical medicine. Also, in the national evaluation of medical schools, medical humanities education is an important factor. However, there are many difficulties in teaching medical humanities in medical schools. First, it is still an unfamiliar education area to medical schools and professors. Second, still, there is no consensus on the definition and contents of this education. Third, it is usually very difficult to find professors who have interest and the ability to teach medical humanities. Fourth, even medical students do not understand why they should study medical humanities and sometimes do not eagerly participate in class. This paper suggests some solutions for these problems. First, medical humanities need to be divided into sections according to how easily the contents can be accepted by existing medical education system and apply these sections in the introduction of this education gradually and in stage. One example of the division can be as follows: Group 1) medical ethics and medical law which can be most easily accepted. Group 2) medical communication skills which can be relatively easily accepted. Group 3) medical history and medical professionalism which is relatively difficult to accept, and Group 4) medical philosophy, medicine and music, medicine and literature, medicine and art, medicine and religion, etc. which is the most difficult to accept. In this paper, four things are suggested. Second, divide the contents into mendatory courses and elective courses. Third, allocate the contents throughout the four years from the first year though the fourth year according to the spiral curriculum model. This paper reports some new ideas and methods for medical humanities education. First, to stimulate students' participation, several methods were applied in a large size lecture and student projects. Second, the emphasis of writing in class and evaluation were discussed. Third, the provision of hands on experience is more emphasized than lectures. Fourth, inviting some doctors who work in non-medical areas such as journalism, pharmaceutical industry, etc is suggested. Trial and error is inevitable in this education, but it is essential in molding a good doctor, so medical professors who are interested or in charge of this medical humanities education need to share their ideas and experiences.

천연섬유/천연고무 복합재료의 특성에 미치는 Kenaf 섬유함량의 영향 (Effect of Kenaf Fiber Loading on the Properties of Natural Fiber/Natural Rubber Composites)

  • 셀룰로오스계 천연섬유인 kenaf를 천연고무와 함께 균일하게 배합한 후 압축성형 방법을 사용하여 천연섬유/천연고무 복합재료를 제조하였으며, 이들의 가황거동, 경도, 인장특성, 인열강도 및 정적, 동적 특성에 미치는 kenaf 섬유함량의 영향을 조사하였다. 복합재료를 구성하는 천연섬유의 함량은 천연고무 및 배합제 대비 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 phr이었다. 실험결과 천연고무의 여러 가지 특성이 kenaf 섬유의 함량에 의존한다는 것을 나타내었다. Kenaf 섬유함량이 증가함에 따라 천연고무의 가황에 요구되는 토크는 높아진 반면 가황시간은 감소되었다. Kenaf/천연고무 복합재료의 경도, 인장탄성률과 인열강도는 섬유함량이 증가할수록 점차적으로 증가한 반면, 인장강도와 파단신장률 은 감소하는 경향을 보여주었다. 또한 kenaf 섬유함량이 증가함에 따라 천연고무의 정적 특성보다는 동적 특성의 변화가 더욱 크게 나타났다. 고무에 가해지는 에너지의 감쇄 또는 흡수와 밀접한 관계가 있는 손실인자도 섬유함량에 비례하여 증가하였다.
