Formal Models of Module Linking Mechanisms for a Single Address Space

  • As WSNs(Wireless Sensor Networks) are being deployed widely in diverse application areas, their management and maintenance become more important. Recent sensor node software takes modular software architectures in pursuit of flexible software management and energy efficient reprogramming. To realize an flexible and efficient modular architecture particularly on resource constrained mote-class sensor nodes that are implemented with MCUs(Micro-Controller Units) of a single address space. an appropriate module linking model is essential to resolve and bind the inter-module global symbols. This paper identifies a design space of module linking model and respectively their implementation frameworks. We then establish a taxonomy for module linking models by exploring the design space of module linking models. Finally, we suggest an implementation framework respectively for each module linking model in the taxonomy. We expect that this work lays the foundations for systematic innovation toward more flexible and efficient modular software architectures for WSNs.

Incremental and Retargetable Linker for Embedded System (내장형 시스템을 위한 점진적이고 목표 재설정 가능한 링커)

  • In a development environment for embedded system with a connection between host and target system, the linker of host system links the cross-compiled object file and modules of target system and downloads the linked object file to the target system. In this research, we separate this linker into the module dependent on object file format and the module independent on object file format. The dependent module gets the linking information independent on file format from the object file, and the independent module actually does the linking process with this linking information_ This separation can improve the portability of development environment for a target system_ Also, our linker does the incremental remote linking that applies relocation not only to the obj ect file to be loaded but also to target's modules to have been loaded_ This incremental remote linking can reduce a linking time than linking by the united modules because of linking by module. The result of measuring linking time for SPEC95 integer benchmarks shows an average of reduction rates of 64.90%. Also, incremental remote linking can improve the comfortability of users who develop programs because users do not consider a downloading order of linking object files. Currently, we developed this linker in the embedded application development environment ESTO [1] to be prepared for a commercial product.

  • We Propose the Suity Cryptography File System to encrypt or decrypt a plaintext or an encrypted tort by using the dynamic linking mechanism In the Linux kernel. The dynamic linking mechanism gives the flexibility of the kernel without changing the kernel. The Sorority Cryptography File System uses the blowfish algorithm to encrypt or decrypt a data. To overcome the overhead of the key server, I use key generating algorithm which is installed in the same Security Cryptography File System. The Security Cryptography file System is fitted into the Linux system.

  • 멀티미디어 입출력 서버인 MuX는 다양한 입출력 디바이스와의 인터페이스를 위해 장치독립적인 DLM(dynamic Linking Module)을 사용한다. 본 논문에서는 MuX 시스템의 입출력 디바이스 인터페이스 기능을 확장하기 위해서 MIDI(Musical Instrument Digital Interface)형식의 오디오 데이터를 처리할 수 있는 DLM을 추가하였다. MIDI 데이터의 특성과 MIDI 파일 형식을 분석하여 MIDI를 지원하는 디바이스와의 인터페이스를 위한 MIDI DLM(Dynamic Linking Module)과 파일을 지원하는 DLM을 설계하고 구현하였다.

The design preserves compatibility with standards and scalability for hierarchical access.

  • To survive in outdoor environments, photovoltaic modules rely on packaging materials to provide requisite durability. We analyzed the properties of encapsulant materials that are important for photovoltaic module packaging. The properties of Ethylene Vinyl Acetate(EVA) sheet in photovoltaic encapsulant materials have to meet conditions that are high optical transmittance, good adhesion and high cross-linking rate. The objective of this paper is to understand the property evaluation methods of EVA sheet. Through this research, we could confirm that properties of EVA sheet have an effect on durability and operating efficiency of photovoltaic module.

Automated Optimum Design Program for Steel Box Girder Bridges (강상자형교의 자동화 최적설계 프로그램)

  • In this study, an automated optimum design program for steel box girder bridges has been developed for the optimum design of composite steel box girder bridges. The design constraints required for the optimum design of steel box girder bridges are based on the Korean standard bridge specification. Considering characteristics of steel box girder bridges, several approximation techniques, such as artificial constraint deletion, variable linking and stress reanalysis technique etc. are also introduced to enhance the efficiency of optimization. The developed program is mainly composed of major sub-system modules including structural analysis module using commercial structural analysis program such as RM-SPACEFRAME, optimum design module, pre-process module for friendly user input, and post-processor module for office automation. In addition, in order to demonstrate the efficiency and applicability of the developed optimum design program for steel box girder bridges, a few numerical examples are applied. Based on the results of the application, it may be stated that the automatic optimum design program developed in this study can be a prototype model for the developement of optimum design program for other type of bridge.

However the test area overhead is too expensive to guarantee diverse test link configurations. In this paper, at first we introduce a new flag based Wrapped Core Linking Module(WCLM) that enables systematic integration of IEEE 1149.1 TAP'd cores and P1500 wrapped cores. Then a simple test control technique, which can interconnect internal scan chains of different cores, is described with requiring least amount of area overhead compared with other state-of-art techniques. The design preserves compatibility with standards and scalability for hierarchical access.

A Stipulation Based Sources Insertion Multilevel Inverter (SBSIMLI) for Waning the Component Count and Separate DC Sources

  • The paper proposes a well structured, component count waned single phase multilevel inverter (MLI) topology, which drives three different modules viz. Stipulation Based Sources Insertion (SBSI) module, Level Count Increasing (LCI) module and Inter-Linking H-Bridge (ILHB) module. The SBSI module confronts the number of basic sources needed in series/parallel to achieve required magnitude for any particular level. The LCI possesses an offsetting dc source and opuses to increase the number of levels and the ILHB module links the SBSI and LCI modules. A developed Hybrid Pulse Width Modulation (HPWM) strategy has PWM pulses for the switches of LCI module while the switches of the remaining two modules function at fundamental switching frequency. A fifteen level version of the proposed stipulation based sources insertion MLI (SBSIMLI) topology is simulated in MATLAB R2010a and a prototype of the similar specifications is constructed to validate the performance by experimental results. The comparison between the developed SBSIMLI topology and the competent topologies shows many interesting facts.
