  • Recently, research on cost reduction and efficiency improvement of crystalline silicon(c-Si) photovoltaic(PV) module has been conducted. In order to reduce costs, the thickness of solar cell wafers is becoming thinner. If the thickness of the wafer is reduced, cracking of wafer may occur in high temperature processes during the c-Si PV module manufacturing process. To solve this problem, a low temperature process has been proposed. Conductive paste(CP) is used for low temperature processing; it contains Sn57.6Bi0.4Ag component and can be electrically combined with solar cells and ribbons at a melting point of $150^{\circ}C$. Use of CP in the PV module manufacturing process can minimize cracks of solar cells. When CP is applied to solar cells, the output varies with the amount of CP, and so the optimum amount of CP must be found. In this paper, in order to find the optimal CP application amount, we manufactured several c-Si PV modules with different CP amounts. The amount control of CP is fixed at air pressure (500 kPa) and nozzle diameter 22G(outer diameter 0.72Ø, inner 0.42Ø) of dispenser; only speed is controlled. The c-Si PV module output is measured to analyze the difference according to the amount of CP and analyzed by optical microscope and Alpha-step. As the result, the optimum amount of CP is 0.452 ~ 0.544 g on solar cells.

  • PV model is presented based on the shockley diode equation. The simple model has a photo-current source, an single diode junction and a series resistance and includes temperature dependences. An accurate PV module electrical model is presented, matching with boost converter MPPT strategy and demonstrated in Matlab for a typical general purpose solar cell. Given solar insolation and temperature, the model returns current vector and MPP.

  • A rear contact solar cell has a potential merit of efficiency improvement by a low shading loss in front surface. a simplified module assembly. and a higher packing density. Among the rear contact solar cells. MWT. metallizationl wrap through MWT solar cells that have the bus bars on the back side and the front side metallization is connected to the back through metal filled laser fired holes in the silicon wafer. This approach has the advantages of a much more uniform appearance. The first fabrication of MWT using a multicrystalline silicon modules in our group showed $12.28\%$ on $125mm{\times}125mm$ active area.

  • This paper present the performance evaluation of PV systems installed at Tibet area of China in order to identity the key factors that determines system operation at a severe climate conditions and promote the cooperation of PV technology between Korea and China. The installed systems consist of 100kW on-grid connected PV systems, BOS(balance of systems), data acquisition and transmission equipments. The Korea side supplied the solar cell, BOS like as inverter, control box and monitoring system. And the Chinese side assembled solar module, constructed site and built control house. It has been shown that the average radiation per monthly from Tibet is 1.5 times larger than that from Mokpo. Also, radiation time from Tibet is 2hour higher than that from Korea.

  • During demonstrations of a process conditioning spent nuclear fuels, it may be necessary to transport modularized parts of process equipment out of a hot cell because of modules' failure or completion of demonstrations. It may be not easy to transport modules because modules will be contaminated. For this purpose, we have developed a prototype of a device transporting radioactive contaminated materials. We have analyzed conditions of a hot cell and requirements of the device, designed and manufactured a scaled-down prototype of the device, and done some performance tests such as running on the rail, running on the flat floor, and carrying capability of a sliding upper part. From the tests, it has been shown that running on the rail and floor was smooth but the sliding part was deflected if the sliding distance was long. These result will be reflected to a design of the improved transporting device which will be used during demonstrations.

  • In this paper, solar-cell modules were fabricated by low-temperature bonding method of construction using CF. CF adhesive strength of cells at 180 degree using 3bus bar structure was measured average 2.4N. As the bonding temperature got higher, Voc and Iscwas increased. And at $185^{\circ}C$, Rseries was measured 0.013[${\Omega}$] which is the highest point. At $185^{\circ}C$, 2N and 6sec in bonding time, $P_{max}$ was measured 3.954[W], fillfactor was measured 67.36[%] and efficiency was measured13.178[%] the highest point.

  • In this study, we present a 260k color TFT LCD driver chip set that consumes only 5 mW in the module, which has exceptionally low power consumption. To reduce power consumption, we used many power-lowering schemes in the logic and analog design. A driver IC for LCDs has a built-in graphic SRAM. Besides write and read operations, the graphic SRAM has a scan operation that is similar to the read operation of one row-line, which is displayed on one line in an LCD panel. Currently, the embedded graphic memory is implemented by an 8-transistor leaf cell and a 6-transistor leaf cell. We propose an efficient scan method for a 6-transistor embedded graphic memory that is greatly improved over previous methods. The proposed method is implemented in a 0.22 ${\mu}m$ process. We demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method by measuring and comparing the current consumption of chips with and without our proposed scheme.

  • This paper describes an efficient global cell (module) placement strategy called HALO (Hierarchical Alternating Linear Ordering)which generates global 2-D placement of circuit modules by hierarchical application of linear ordering in alternating direction. We tried, in principle, to explain why HALO should perform better than other typical, somehat successful, analytical approaches such as min-cut, force-directed relaxation(FDR)or its likes. We have implemented HALO as a program for standard cell placement. Experimental results on two benchmark circuits, primary and primary 2 consisting of 752 and 2907 cells, respectively have shown a decrease of half-perimeter routing length by 7% and 24%, respectively compared to the best available results obtained so far. Total CPU time including the following detailed placement was less than half of the earlier work.
