구조물의 가변성을 위한 모듈형 유닛의 설계 및 해석 (Design and Analysis of a Modular Unit for Reconfiguration of the Structure)

  • In this paper, the design and analysis of a reconfigurable modular structure, which reforms itself according to the change of the environment and realize appropriate forms and motions, are dealt with. This modular is a free structure from the restrictions with constraints about fixed environment and has various forms and motions by combining units. The form of this unit has a shape of a square with 7 centimeters side each, and has a structure which can be combined in a chain-shape or a lattice-shape. Additionally, The structure has a mobility by being equipped with wheels so that it can be combined for itself. In this paper, all the wireless controllers, sensor system, and communicating method between modules according to module structures were suggested and transformation method to be transformed to shape of snakes, caterpillars were presented. Moreover, simulations for each method were performed to show the validity of the motions including motor torque analysis. All the motions suggested were realized and experimented, whereby the availability of the designed mechanism and algorithm was verified with the result of experiments.

  • Purpose: This study aims to establish detailed spatial planning by identifying the needs for a seclusion module for emergency psychiatric patients. Methods: The necessity of medical space with seclusion function was analyzed from spatial, medical, and social perspectives. The needs for a space capable of performing three medical functions: protection, isolation, and treatment, was analyzed. Among various types of mobile medical facilities, seclusion space was considered suitable for utilizing modular construction methods, as it is the most rational method that can satisfy the environmental level of fixed healthcare facilities' space. Therefore, seclusion modules based on modular construction were planned, consisting of two protective units for stabilizing patients with psychiatric illness, one for treatment unit that can accommodate both internal and external treatment, and another one for an infectious disease isolation unit equipped with negative pressure equipment. Implications: This study analyzed the necessary medical functions of the interior space of the mobile stabilization module based on the spatial analysis of existing medical facilities, and proposed alternative spatial configurations according to treatment, seclusion, isolation functions.

모듈러 목업주택의 실내공기질 실측조사 연구 (A Study on Measurement of the Indoor Air Quality in Modular Mock-up Housing)

  • 본 연구는 다변화 되는 건설환경에서 모듈러 주택에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있어 모듈러 목업 주택을 대상으로 신축시 실내공기질 현황을 측정하였다. 붙박이 가구가 미설치된 세대(101호)와 붙박이 가구가 설치된 세대(102호), 2세대를 대상으로 시간경과에 따라 3차 측정을 실시하였다. 1차는 마감 및 붙박이 가구 설치 직후 측정하였으며 2차는 베이크아웃 실시 이후, 3차는 약 2.5개월(77일) 이후 측정하였다. 측정결과 1차 측정시 붙박이 가구 설치세대가 오염물질 방출농도가 높았으나 톨루엔의 경우를 제외하고 모두 권고기준 이하로 나타났다. 3차 측정시에는 톨루엔과 스티렌을 제외하고 두세대가 유사한 방출량으로 나타났으며 두세대 모두 미미한 수준으로 방출량이 낮아졌다. 이는 측정세대 모듈이 적어($14.7m^2$) 베이크아웃 및 환기에 의한 영향이 크게 나타난 것으로 판단되며 이를 통해 오염물질이 외부로 방출되어 저감된 것으로 판단된다. 일반 공동주택의 입주시점을 고려한다면 모듈러 주택의 경우도 모두 실내공기질 권고기준 이하로 나타날 것으로 판단되며, 가구에 의한 영향은 톨루엔이 가장 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 향후에는 모듈조합을 통해 중형 이상 규모 모듈러 주택에 있어서 가구설치 여부에 따른 상관관계를 살펴 볼 필요성이 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 본 논문은 유닛 모듈러를 구성하는 주구조체인 각형강관 기둥과 냉간성형 LEB C-형강 보가 볼트 접합된 접합부를 가진 모듈러 건물의 접합부 구조성능 및 시공성을 평가하는 것이 연구의 목적이다. 모듈러 건축의 장점은 공사기간 단축, 경량성, 이동가능성 등으로 볼 수 있다. 반면에 유닛 또는 모듈의 운송비용이 공사비 절감 비용을 반감시킬 수 있고 많은 공장들이 외부 지역에 있으므로 이들을 도심지나 원하는 지역으로 이동하기 위해서는 비용이 추가된다. 그리고 유닛이나 모듈 설치에 크레인 등의 장비 사용으로 인해 시공비용이 증가될 수 있는 단점들이 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 해체조립이 용이한 볼트접합부 구조성능 및 모듈러 건축물의 시공사례를 통하여 공기, 비용 등 측면에서 기존 연구와 비교분석을 진행하고자 한다.

모듈러 건축물의 수평력 저항 구조시스템 (Lateral-resisting Structural Systems for Tall Modular Buildings)

  • Modular buildings are constructed by assembling modular units which are prefabricated in a factory and delivered to the site. However, due to a problem of noise between floors, concrete slab is usually poured at the top or bottom level of a modular unit in Korea. This greatly increases the weight of buildings, but designing vertical members of modular units to resist overall gravity loads is very inefficient. In this study, considering domestic building construction practices, feasible structural systems for tall modular buildings are proposed in which separate steel frames and reinforced concrete core walls are designed to resist gravity and lateral loads. To verify performance, a three-dimensional structural analysis has been performed with two types of prototype buildings, i.e., a residential building and a hotel. From the results, wind-induced lateral displacements and seismic story drifts are examined and compared with their limit values. Between the two kinds of buildings, the efficiency of the proposed system is also evaluated through a comparison of the weight of structural components. Finally, the effect of a floor diaphragm on the overall behavior is analyzed and discussed.

Numerical and analytical study on initial stiffness of corrugated steel plate shear walls in modular construction

  • Modular construction has been increasingly used for mid-to-high rise buildings attributable to the high construction speed, improved quality and low environmental pollution. The individual and repetitive room-sized module unit is usually fully finished in the factory and installed on-site to constitute an integrated construction. However, there is a lack of design guidance on modular structures. This paper mainly focuses on the evaluation of the initial stiffness of corrugated steel plate shears walls (CSPSWs) in container-like modular construction. A finite element model was firstly developed and verified against the existing cyclic tests. The theoretical formulas predicting the initial stiffness of CSPSWs were then derived. The accuracy of the theoretical formulas was verified by the related numerical and test results. Furthermore, parametric analysis was conducted and the influence of the geometrical parameters on the initial stiffness of CSPSWs was discussed and evaluated in detail. The present study provides practical design formulas and recommendations for CSPSWs in modular construction, which are useful to broaden the application of modular construction in high-rise buildings and seismic area.

모듈러건축의 외장재 모듈정합설계 및 시공 (MC Design and Construction for Standardization of Exterior Materials of Modular Building)

  • With the progress of national policy researches on the modular construction, many studies have been conducted regarding the standardization of interior building materials. However, studies on the standardization of exterior building materials are still insufficient, and there are no dedicated exterior materials for modular construction. In this regard, this study investigated the necessary of standardization through the analysis on 7 kinds of exterior materials used in general buildings and exterior building materials applied to modular apartment houses in order to establish design criteria for the standardization of dedicated modular exterior materials. Based on the analysis results, assembly reference plane in conjunction with inside dimensions was set, and panelizing standardized in five parts was proposed to solve the problem of low exterior material standardization rate. It also proposed elastic gasket and steel bracket details that can compensate for the fabrication errors of unit boxes and construction errors in stacking.

DSM을 활용한 모듈러 건축 설계단계에서의 제작 및 시공 정보 반영 및 재시공 감소 방안 (Design and Planning Process Management for Reducing Rework in Modular Construction Using Dependency Structure Matrix (DSM))

  • Modular construction has benefits such as short construction duration and high productivity owing to the production in factory and owing to simultaneous on-site work. However, rework occurs in modular construction and the rework affects the efficiency of modular construction. The almost of causes of rework are exist in design process. To reduce the cause of rework, the information flow of the design process should be managed and the plan to reduce rework should be included. However, the modular construction has complex process because of impeded unit production so it is hard to manage the information flow in design process. Moreover, when the plan to reduce rework is included, the design process will be more complicated. Therefore, the objective of this research is to suggest the design process including the rework reduction plan and to alleviate the complexity of design process by using Dependency Structure Matrix(DSM). By using DSM, the iteration and feedback in design process is reduced and it can be expected that rework in modular project can be reduced by using suggested design process.

연결 플레이트를 사용한 프리캐스트 콘크리트 모듈러 보의 전단성능 (Shear Behaviour of Precast Concrete Modular Beam Using Connecting Plate)

  • The Precast concrete(PC) modular structures are a method of assembling pre-fabricated unit modules in the construction site. The essential aim of modular structures is to introduce a connection method that can ensure splicing performance and effectively resist shear strength. This study proposed PC module using a connecting plate that can replace splice sleeves and shear keys used in the conventional PC modular structures. To evaluate the splicing performance and shear capacity of the proposed method, the shear test was conducted by fabricating one monolithic reinforced concrete(RC) beam and two PC modular beams with a shear span-to-depth ratio as variables. The experimental results showed that the shear capacity of the PC modular beam was about 89% compared to that of the RC beam, and showed a failure of the RC beam according to the shear span-to-depth ratio. Therefore, it was considered that the connecting plate effectively transferred the stress between each PC module through the joint and ensure integrity. In addition, the applicability of shear strength equation of ACI 318-19 and Zsutty's equation to PC modular beams were evaluated. Results demonstrated that the improved shear strength equations are needed to consider reduction of shear strength in PC modules.
