The online learning is a process of obtaining the solution for a given objective function where the data is accumulated in real time or in batch units. The stochastic gradient descent method is one of the most widely used for the online learning. This method is not only easy to implement, but also has good properties of the solution under the assumption that the generating model of data is homogeneous. However, the stochastic gradient method could severely mislead the online-learning when the homogeneity is actually violated. We assume that there are two heterogeneous generating models in the observation, and propose the a new stochastic gradient method that mitigate the problem of the heterogeneous models. We introduce a robust mini-batch optimization method using statistical tests and investigate the convergence radius of the solution in the proposed method. Moreover, the theoretical results are confirmed by the numerical simulations.
Based upon differential quadrature method (DQM) and nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT), mechanical-hygro-thermal vibrational analyzes of shear deformable porous functionally graded (FG) nanoplate on visco-elastic medium has been performed. The presented formulation incorporates two scale factors for examining vibrational behaviors of nano-dimension plates more accurately. The material properties for FG plate are porosity-dependent and defined employing a modified power-law form. It is supposed that the nano-size plate is exposed to hygro-thermal and variable compressive mechanical loadings. The governing equations achieved by Hamilton's principle are solved implementing DQM. Presented results indicate the prominence of moisture/temperature variation, damping factor, material gradient index, nonlocal coefficient, strain gradient coefficient and porosities on vibrational frequencies of FG nano-size plate.
Functionally graded polyurethane elastomers PUEs/grad. Poly(dimethylammoninum ethylacrylate bromide)(PDMAEA) were prepared by the method of electrophoresis. Results of elemental analysis showed that concentration of PDMAEA had gradient across the thickness(2mm) of the base PUEs. The modified PUEs(PUEs/grad. PDMAEA) containing high concentration of PDMAEA displayed low degree of swelling in benzene which was poor solvent for PDMAEA, and high degree of swelling in water which was good solvent. For the each layer of modified PUEs, glass transition temperature, dynamic storage modulus were stooled by DSC, Rheovibron DDV-IIC dynamic viscoelastomer. The chemomechanical properties of modified PUEs was explored by the electric-stimulus.
Microtubules (MTs) are the main part of the cytoskeleton in living eukaryotic cells. In this article, a mechanical model of MT buckling, considering the modified strain gradient theory, is analytically examined. The MT is assumed as a cylindrical beam and a new single variable trigonometric beam theory is developed in conjunction with a modified strain gradient model. The main benefit of the present formulation is shown in its new kinematic where we found only one unknown as the Euler-Bernoulli beam model, which is even less than the Timoshenko beam model. The governing equations are deduced by considering virtual work principle. The effectiveness of the present method is checked by comparing the obtained results with those reported by other higher shear deformation beam theory involving a higher number of unknowns. It is shown that microstructure-dependent response is more important when material length scale parameters are closer to the outer diameter of MTs. Also, it can be confirmed that influences of shear deformation become more considerable for smaller shear modulus and aspect ratios.
In this paper, a new modified conjugate gradient (MCG) method is presented which is based on a new gradient regularizer, and this method is used to identify the dynamic load on airfoil structure without and with considering random structure parameters. First of all, the newly proposed algorithm is proved to be efficient and convergent through the rigorous mathematics theory and the numerical results of determinate dynamic load identification. Secondly, using the perturbation method, we transform uncertain inverse problem about force reconstruction into determinate load identification problem. Lastly, the statistical characteristics of identified load are evaluated by statistical methods. Especially, this newly proposed approach has successfully solved determinate and uncertain inverse problems about dynamic load identification. Numerical simulations validate that the newly developed method in this paper is feasible and stable in solving load identification problems without and with considering random structure parameters. Additionally, it also shows that most of the observation error of the proposed algorithm in solving dynamic load identification of deterministic and random structure is respectively within 11.13%, 20%.

The Gradient Vector Flow (GVF) snake or active contour model offers the best performance for image segmentation. However, there are problems in classical snake models such as the limited capture range and the slow progress into concavity. This paper presents a new method for enhancing the performance of the GVF snake model by extending the external force fields from the neighboring fields and using a modified smoothing method to regularize them. The results on a simulated U-shaped image showed that the proposed method has larger capture range and makes it possible for the contour to progress into concavity more quickly compared with the conventional GVF snake model.
According to a generalized nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT), dynamic modeling and free vibrational analysis of nanoporous inhomogeneous nanoplates is presented. The present model incorporates two scale coefficients to examine vibration behavior of nanoplates much accurately. Porosity-dependent material properties of the nanoplate are defined via a modified power-law function. The nanoplate is resting on a viscoelastic substrate and is subjected to hygro-thermal environment and in-plane linearly varying mechanical loads. The governing equations and related classical and non-classical boundary conditions are derived based on Hamilton's principle. These equations are solved for hinged nanoplates via Galerkin's method. Obtained results show the importance of hygro-thermal loading, viscoelastic medium, in-plane bending load, gradient index, nonlocal parameter, strain gradient parameter and porosities on vibrational characteristics of size-dependent FG nanoplates.

In this paper, a modified sensitivity control for the semi-active suspension system with a magneto-rheological (MR) damper is investigated. A 2-d.o.f quarter-car model together with a 6th order polynomial model for the MR damper is considered. For the purpose of suppressing the vertical acceleration of the sprung mass, the square of the vertical acceleration is defined as a cost function and a modified sensitivity control that updates the current input in the negative gradient of the cost function is proposed. The implementation of the proposed algorithm requires only the measurement of the relative displacement of the suspension deflection. The local stability of equilibria of the closed loop nonlinear system is proved by investigating the eigenvalues of the linearized ones. Through simulations, the passive suspension, the skyhook control, and the proposed modified sensitivity control are compared.

The wavelet theory is relatively a new development and now acquires popularity and much interest in many areas including mathematics and engineering. This work presents an adaptive wavelet method for a numerical solution of partial differential equations in a collocation sense. Due to the multi-resolution nature of wavelets, an adaptive strategy can be easily realized it is easy to add or delete the wavelet coefficients as resolution levels progress. Typical wavelet-collocation methods use interpolating wavelets having no vanishing moment, but we propose a new wavelet-collocation method on modified interpolating wavelets having 2 vanishing moments. The use of the modified interpolating wavelets obtained by the lifting scheme requires a smaller number of wavelet coefficients as well as a smaller condition number of system matrices. The latter property makes a preconditioned conjugate gradient solver more useful for efficient analysis.

A simple RMRAC (Robust Model Reference Adaptive Control) scheme for the PMSM (Permanent Magnent Synchronous Motor) is proposed in the synchronous frame. A current control of PMSM is the most inner loop of electro-mechanical driving systems and it requires a fast and simple control law to play a foundation role in the control hierarchy. In the proposed synchronous current model, the input signal is composed of a calculated voltage by proposed adaptive laws and real system disturbance. The gains of feed-forward and feedback controllers are estimated by the proposed modified Gradient method respectively, where the system disturbances are assumed as filtered current tracking errors. After the estimation of the system disturbances from the tracking errors, the corresponding voltage is fed forward to control input voltage to compensate for the disturbances. The proposed method is robust against high frequency disturbance and has a fast dynamic response. It also shows a good real-time performance due to it's simplicity of control structure. Through the simulations and real experiments, efficiency of the proposed method is verified.
