상보형 신호경로 방식의 CMOS 이미지센서 픽셀 모델링 및 HSPICE 해석 (Modeling and HSPICE analysis of the CMOS image sensor pixel with the complementary signal path)

  • In this paper, a circuit analysis of the complementary CMOS active pixel and readout circuit is carried out. Complementary pixel structure which is different from conventional 3TR APS structure is consist of photo diode, reset PMOS, several NMOSs and PMOSs sets for complementary signals. Photo diode is modelled with Medici device program. HSPICE was used to analyze the variation of the signal feature depending on light intensity using $0.5{\mu}M$ standard CMOS process. Simulation results show that the output signal range is from 0.8 V to 4.5 V. This signal range increased 135 % output dynamic range compared to conventional 3TR pixel in the condition of 5 V power supply.

대기자료센서 장착위치 분석을 위한 멀티콥터 주변 유동장 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Flowfield around Multicopter for the Analysis of Air Data Sensor Installation)

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티콥터 대기자료센서의 최적의 장착위치 선정을 위한 멀티콥터 주변 유동장 해석을 과정을 기술하였다. 유동해석을 위해서는 상용유동해석 프로그램인 STAR-CCM+를 사용하였으며 다면체기반의 격자시스템과 k-w SST 난류 모델링을 사용하였다. 회전하는 4개의 프로펠러의 상대운동을 모사하기 위해서는 비정렬격자 기반 중첩격자기법을 사용하였다. 해석과정에서는 정지비행, 전진비행, 상승 및 하강비행에 대하여 해석을 수행하였고 센서위치에 대하여 측정오차를 분석하였다. 장착위치 분석결과 센서의 위치가 회전면에서 프로펠러 지름 높이 이상에 위치하면 하강비행을 제외한 멀티콥터의 운용과정에서 1m/s 정도 이내의 속도오차를 보이므로 비교적 정확한 측정이 가능할 것으로 예측되었다.

Nonlinear modeling of roof-to-wall connections in a gable-roof structure under uplift wind loads

  • Light-frame wood structures have the ability to carry gravity loads. However, their performance during severe wind storms has indicated weakness with respect to resisting uplift wind loads exerted on the roofs of residential houses. A common failure mode observed during almost all main hurricane events initiates at the roof-to-wall connections (RTWCs). The toe-nail connections typically used at these locations are weak with regard to resisting uplift loading. This issue has been investigated at the Insurance Research Lab for Better Homes, where full-scale testing was conducted of a house under appropriate simulated uplift wind loads. This paper describes the detailed and sophisticated numerical simulation performed for this full-scale test, following which the numerical predictions were compared with the experimental results. In the numerical model, the nonlinear behavior is concentrated at the RTWCs, which is simulated with the use of a multi-linear plastic element. The analysis was conducted on four sets of uplift loads applied during the physical testing: 30 m/sincreased by 5 m/sincrements to 45 m/s. At this level of uplift loading, the connections exhibited inelastic behavior. A comparison with the experimental results revealed the ability of the sophisticated numerical model to predict the nonlinear response of the roof under wind uplift loads that vary both in time and space. A further component of the study was an evaluation of the load sharing among the trusses under realistic, uniform, and code pressures. Both the numerical model and the tributary area method were used for the load-sharing calculations.

Implementation of a Radiation-hardened I-gate n-MOSFET and Analysis of its TID(Total Ionizing Dose) Effects

  • Electronic components that are used in high-level radiation environment require a semiconductor device having a radiation-hardened characteristic. In this paper, we proposed a radiation-hardened I-gate n-MOSFET (n-type Metal Oxide Semiconductors Field Effect Transistors) using a layout modification technique only. The proposed I-gate n-MOSFET structure is modified as an I-shaped gate poly in order to mitigate a radiation-induced leakage current in the standard n-MOSFET structure. For verification of its radiation-hardened characteristic, the M&S (Modeling and Simulation) of the 3D (3-Dimension) structure is performed by TCAD (Technology Computer Aided Design) tool. In addition, we carried out an evaluation test using a $Co^{60}$ gamma-ray source of 10kGy(Si)/h. As a result, we have confirmed the radiation-hardened level up to a total ionizing dose of 20kGy(Si).

시뮬레이션 가능한 CPS 구성을 위한 에이전트 모델 구성 방법 (Agent Model Construction Methods for Simulatable CPS Configuration)

  • 사이버물리시스템은 제조 환경의 물리적 시스템과 가상 공간을 연결하여 시뮬레이션을 가능하게 하는 기술이다. 이 기술의 주요 과제 중 하나는 두 환경 간 원활한 통신을 구현하는 것으로 복잡한 제조 공정에서는 다양한 제조설비의 프로토콜에 대응할 수 있어야 하며, 다수의 데이터를 지연과 오류 없이 송수신할 수 있어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 실시간 시뮬레이션 가능한 사이버물리시스템 구성을 위한 에이전트 모델 구성 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 데이터 수집부를 독립된 에이전트 모델로 설계한 후, 이를 기존 시뮬레이션 도구와 효과적으로 통합하여 전체 구조를 개발하였다. 제안한 구조에 대한 구동검증과 신뢰성 파악을 위해 실제 스마트 의류생산 마이크로 팩토리 시스템의 여러 장비와 연동하여 데이터 수집 기능에 대한 실증을 수행했다. 실증은 데이터 수집 주기와 관련된 데이터 지연과 및 데이터 결측에 대한 실험을 진행하였다. 결과적으로 제안된 CPS 구성 방법은 비교적 큰 통신 지연 없이 다양한 내부 데이터 수집과 다양한 장비의 데이터 포맷 및 통신 프로토콜에 적용 가능한 유연성을 보여주며, 비교적 간단하게 CPS 구성을 가능하게 한다. 따라서 제조 업계에서 혁신을 촉진하고 생산 라인의 효율성을 향상시키며, 유지보수 비용을 절감하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

A Research Program for Modeling Strategic Aspects of International Container Port Competition

  • As national economies globalize, demand for intercontinental container shipping services is growing rapidly, providing a potential economic boon for the countries and communities that provide port services. On the promise of profits, many governments are investing heavily in port infrastructure, leading to a possible glut in port capacity, driving down prices for port services and eliminating profits as ports compete for business. Further, existing ports are making strategic investments to protect their market share, increasing the chance new ports will be overcapitalized and unprofitable. Governments and port researchers need a tool for understanding how local competition in their region will affect demand for port services at their location, and thus better assess the profitability of a prospective port. We propose to develop such a tool by extending our existing simulation model of global container traffic to incorporate demand-side shipper preferences and supply-side strategic responses by incumbent ports to changes in the global port network, including building new ports, scaling up existing ports, and unexpected port closures. We will estimate shipper preferences over routes, port attributes and port services based on US and international shipping data, and redesign the simulation model to maximize the shipper's revealed preference functions rather than simply minimize costs. As demand shifts, competing ports will adjust their pricing (short term) and infrastructure (long term) to remain competitive or defend market share, a reaction we will capture with a game theoretic model of local monopoly that will predict changes in port characteristics. The model's hypotheses will be tested in a controlled laboratory experiment tailored to local port competition in Asia, which will also serve to demonstrate the subtle game theoretic concepts of imperfect competition to a policy and industry audience. We will apply the simulation model to analyze changes in global container traffic in three scenarios: addition of a new large port in the US, extended closure of an existing large port in the US, and cooperative and competitive port infrastructure development among Korean partner countries in Asia.

전술객체 위치 모의 및 추적을 위한 필터링 알고리즘 연구 (Filtering Algorithms for Position Evaluation and Tracking of Tactical Objects)

  • 모델링 시뮬레이션에서 전술객체의 위치는 시공간 위치 정보(Time, Space and Position Information, TSPI)로 표현된다. 미 국방성에서 시험, 훈련, 평가 시스템을 연동하기 위해 개발한 TENA(Test and Training Enabling Architecture)의 TSPI 객체 모델을 참고하여 시공간 위치 정보의 형태 및 정보 기록 소요를 도출하였다. 전술 데이터 링크(Tactical Data Link, TDL) 중 가장 정교한 링크 16(Link-16)의 PPLI(Precise Participant Location and Identification) 메시지를 통해 시공간 위치 정보의 교환 방식에 대해 알아보았다. 객체 위치 모의 및 추적을 위한 필터링 알고리즘으로 선형 시스템을 위한 칼만 필터 및 비선형 시스템을 위한 확장형 칼만 필터와 unscented 칼만 필터를 소개한다. 운동 방정식을 이용하여 탄도 미사일의 궤적을 모델링 한 후에, unscented 칼만 필터로 추정한 탄도 미사일의 궤적 추적 성능을 시뮬레이션 하였다.

FSI 해석기법을 이용한 에어건 수중발파 응답해석 검증 (Verification of Underwater Blasting Response Analysis of Air Gun Using FSI Analysis Technique)

  • Air gun shock system is used as an alternative energy source as part of the attempt to overcome the restrictions of economical expense and environmental damage, etc., due to the use of explosives for the UNDerwater EXplosion (UNDEX) shock test. The objectivity of this study is to develop the simulation technique of air gun shock test for the design of model-scale one for the near field non-explosive UNDEX test through its verification with full-scale SERCEL shock test result. Underwater blasting response analysis of full-scale air gun shock test was carried out using highly advanced M&S (Modeling & Simulation) system of FSI (Fluid-Structure Interaction) analysis technique of LS-DYNA code, and was verified by comparing its shock characteristics and behaviors with the results of air gun shock test.

Habitability evaluation considering various input parameters for main control benchboard fire in the main control room

  • In this study, operator habitability was numerically evaluated in the event of a fire at the main control bench board (MCB) in a reference main control room (MCR). It was investigated if evacuation variables including hot gas layer temperature (HGLT), heat flux (HF), and optical density (OD) at 1.8 m from the MCR floor exceed the reference evacuation criteria provided in NUREG/CR-6850. For a fire model validation, the simulation results of the reference MCR were compared with existing experimental results on the same reference MCR. In the simulation, various input parameters were applied to the MCB panel fire scenario: MCR height, peak heat release rate (HRR) of a panel, number of panels where fire propagation occurs, fire propagation time, door open/close conditions, and mechanical ventilation operation. A specialized-average HRR (SAHRR) concept was newly devised to comprehensively investigate how the various input parameters affect the operator's habitability. Peak values of the evacuation variables normalized by evacuation criteria of NUREG/CR-6850 were well-correlated as the power function of the SAHRR for the various input parameters. In addition, the evacuation time map was newly utilized to investigate how the evacuation time for different SAHRR was affected by changing the various input parameters. In the previous studies, it was found that the OD is the most dominant variable to determine the MCR evacuation time. In this study, however, the evacuation time map showed that the HF is the most dominant factor at the condition of without-mechanical ventilation for the MCR with a partially-open false ceiling, but the OD is the most dominant factor for all the other conditions. Therefore, the method using the SAHRR and the evacuation time map was very useful to effectively and comprehensively evaluate the operator habitability for the various input parameters in the event of MCB fires for the reference MCR.

  • 본 연구는 DEVS(Discrete Event System Specification) 형식론을 사용하여 BVR(Beyond Visual Range) 공중전 시나리오에서 항공기와 미사일 간의 교전을 모델링하는 시뮬레이터를 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 시뮬레이터는 1대 다 상황에서 지속적인 편대 전략을 구현할 수 있도록 모델링되었으며, 개발한 모델을 실제 시나리오 사례 연구 두 건에 적용하였다. 두 건의 사례 연구는 가상의 미사일 불능화 장비를 가정한다. 첫 번째 사례 연구는 편대 대형에 따라 미사일 불능화 장비의 효과도를 분석한다. 두 번째 사례 연구는 편대장기의 회피 기동 전략에 대한 미사일 불능화 장비의 효과도를 분석한다. 이를 통해, 제안하는 모델이 현실적인 상황을 재현하고 회피전략 및 전술 개발 수립에 도움이 될 수 있음을 보인다.
