Traditional channel models for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication usually assume fixed velocity in static scattering environment. In the realistic scenarios, however, time-variant velocity for V2V results in non-stationary statistical properties of wireless channels. Dynamic scatterers with random velocities and directions have been always utilized to depict the non-stationary statistical properties of the channel. In this paper, a non-stationary geometry-based cooperative scattering channel model is proposed for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) V2V communication systems, where a birth-death process is used to capture the appearance and disappearance dynamic properties of moving scatterers that reflect the time-variant time correlation and Doppler spectrum characteristics. Moreover, our model has more straight and concise to study the impact of the vehicular traffic density on channel characteristics and thus avoid complicated procedure in deriving the analytical expressions of the channel parameters and functions. The numerical results validate our analysis and demonstrate that setting important parameters of our model can appropriately build up more purposeful measurement campaigns in the future.

A role of cost modeler is that of facilitating design process by the systematic application of cost factors so as to maintain sensible and economic relationships between cost, quantity, utility and appearance. These relationships help to achieve the client's requirements within an agreed budget. The purpose of this study is to develop a parametric cost estimating model for the early design stage by using the multi-dimensional system of OLAP (On-line Analytical Processing) based on the case of quantity data related to architectural design features. The parametric cost estimating models have been adopted to support decision making in the early design stage. These models typically use a similar instance or a pattern of historical case. In order to effectively use this type of data model, it is required to set data classification and prediction methods. One of the methods is to find the similar class in line with attribute selection measure in the multi-dimensional data model. Therefore, this research is to analyze the relevance attribute influenced by architectural design features with the subject of case-based quantity data used for the parametric cost estimating model. The relevance attributes can be analyzed by Analytical Characterization. It helps determine what attributes to be included in the OLAP multi-dimension.
This study was performed to determine the optimal composition of a muffin added with jerusalem artichoke powder and oligosaccharide. The experiment was designed based on CCD (central composite design), and evaluation was carried out by means of RSM (response surface methodology), which included 10 experimental points with three replicates each for the two independent variables jerusalem artichoke powder and oligosaccharide. The experimental muffin was prepared according to a traditional recipe, except that the flour was partially replaced by jerusalem artichoke powder (5, 15, or 25%) and the sugar was partially replaced by oligosaccharide (25, 50, or 75%). Using F-test, height, moisture, a-value, b-value, springiness, cohesiveness, texture, and overall acceptability were expressed as a linear model, whereas volume, pH, L-value, appearance, flavor and taste were expressed as a quadratic model. Increased amounts of jerusalem artichoke powder led to reduction of sensory scores for appearance, flavor, taste, texture, and overall quality. The optimum formulation determined by the numerical and graphical methods were similar: jerusalem artichoke powder 10.99%, oligosaccharide 71.40%.
In view of the importance of the wind-structure interaction for tall and slender structures, an aeroelastic model test of the 610m-high TV tower with a complex and unique structural configuration and appearance carried out successfully. The assembled aeroelastic model of the TV tower with complex shape and structure was designed and made to ensure the similarities of the major natural frequencies and the corresponding mode shapes. The simulation of the atmospheric boundary layer with higher turbulent intensity is presented. Since the displacement and acceleration responses at several measurement sections were directly measured in the wind tunnel test, a multi-mode approach was presented to indirectly estimate the displacement and acceleration responses at arbitrary structural floors based on the measured ones. It can be seen that it is remarkable for the displacement and acceleration responses of the TV tower in the two horizontal directions under wind loads and is small for the dynamic response of the torsional displacement and acceleration.
The present paper describes a method of recognizing a polyhedron employing the notion of network constraint analysis. Typical difficulties in three-dimensional object recognition, other than shading, reflection, and hidden line problems, include the case where appearances of an object vary according to observation points and the case where an object to be recognized is occluded by other objects placed in its front, resulting in incomplete information on the object shape. These difficulties can, however, be solved to a large extent, by taking account of certain local constraints defined on a polyhedral shape. The present paper assumes a model-based vision employing an appearance-oriented model of a polyhedron which is provided by placing it at the origin of a large sphere and observing it from various positions on the surface of the sphere. The model is actually represented by the sets of adjacent faces pairs of the polyhedron observed from those positions. Since the shape of a projected face gives constraint to that of its adjacent face, this results in a local constraint relation between these faces. Each projected face of an unknown polyhedron on an acquired image is examined its match with those faces in the model, producing network constraint relations between faces in the image and faces in the model. Taking adjacency of faces into consideration, these network constraint relations are analyzed. And if the analysis finally provides a solution telling existence of one to one match of the faces between the unknown polyhedron and the model, the unknown polyhedron is understood to be one of those memorized models placed in a certain posture. In the performed experiment, a polyhedron was observed from 320 regularly arranged points on a sphere to provide its appearance model and a polyhedron with arbitrarily postured, occluded, or imposed another difficulty was successfully recognized.
We present the technique that automatically generates caricatures from input face images. We get the mean-shape of training images and extract input image's feature point using AAM(Active Appearance Model). From literature of caricature artists, we define exaggeration rules and apply our rules to input feature points, then we can get exaggerated feature points. To change our results into cartoon-like images, we apply some cartoon-stylizing method to input image and combine it with facial sketch. The input image is warped to exaggerated feature point for final results. Our method can automatically generate a caricature image while it minimizes user interaction.

Recently, a tracking algorithm called the spatial-temporal context model has been proposed to locate a target by using the contextual information around the target. This model has achieved excellent results when the target undergoes slight occlusion and appearance changes. However, the target location in the current frame is based on the location in the previous frame, which will lead to failure in the presence of fast motion because of the lack of a prediction mechanism. In addition, the spatial context model is updated frame by frame, which will undoubtedly result in drift once the target is occluded continuously. This paper proposes two improvements to solve the above two problems: First, four possible positions of the target in the current frame are predicted based on the displacement between the previous two frames, and then, we calculate four confidence maps at these four positions; the target position is located at the position that corresponds to the maximum value. Second, we propose a target reliability criterion and design an adaptive threshold to regulate the updating speed of the model. Specifically, we stop updating the model when the reliability is lower than the threshold. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves better tracking results than traditional STC and other algorithms.
K-Maryblyt has been developed for the effective control of secondary fire blight infections on blossoms and the elimination of primary inoculum sources from cankers and newly emerged shoots early in the season for both apple and pear trees. This model facilitates the precise determination of the blossom infection timing and identification of primary inoculum sources, akin to Maryblyt, predicting flower infections and the appearance of symptoms on various plant parts, including cankers, blossoms, and shoots. Nevertheless, K-Maryblyt has undergone significant improvements: Integration of Phenology Models for both apple and pear trees, Adoption of observed or predicted hourly temperatures for Epiphytic Infection Potential (EIP) calculation, incorporation of adjusted equations resulting in reduced mean error with 10.08 degree-hours (DH) for apple and 9.28 DH for pear, introduction of a relative humidity variable for pear EIP calculation, and adaptation of modified degree-day calculation methods for expected symptoms. Since the transition to a model-based control policy in 2022, the system has disseminated 158,440 messages related to blossom control and symptom prediction to farmers and professional managers in its inaugural year. Furthermore, the system has been refined to include control messages that account for the mechanism of action of pesticides distributed to farmers in specific counties, considering flower opening conditions and weather suitability for spraying. Operating as a pivotal module within the Fire Blight Forecasting Information System (FBcastS), K-Maryblyt plays a crucial role in providing essential fire blight information to farmers, professional managers, and policymakers.
In this paper, we studied the problem if the experiment number occurring in order to identify defect in scaffold. We need to change each of the 5 print factor to predict defect when printing disk type scaffold using FDM 3d printer. So then the number of scaffold print will be more than 100,000 times. This experiment number is difficult to perform in the field. In order to solve this problem, we have produced a prediction model based on machine learning multiple linear regression using print conditions and defect scaffold data for print conditions. The prediction model produced was verified through experiments. The verification confirmed that the error was less than 0.5 %. We have confirmed that satisfied within the target margin of error 5 %.
The needs for digital models of real environment such as 3D terrain or cyber city model are increasing. Most of applications related with modeling and simulation require virtual environment constructed from geospatial information of real world in order to guarantee reliability and accuracy of the simulation. The most fundamental data for building virtual environment, terrain elevation and orthogonal imagery is acquired from optical sensor of satellite or airplane. Providing interoperable and reusable digital model is important to promote practical application of high-resolution satellite imagery. This paper presents the new research regarding representation of geospatial information, especially for 3D shape and appearance of virtual terrain, and describe framework for constructing real-time 3D model of large terrain based on high-resolution satellite imagery. It provides infrastructure of 3D simulation with geographical context. Details of standard-based approach for providing infrastructure of real-time 3D simulation using high-resolution satellite imagery are also presented. This work would facilitate interchange and interoperability across diverse systems and be usable by governments, industry scientists and general public.
