In 2019, SUV sales surpassed sedans in the domestic sales market with phenomenal domestic sales. The strength of SUVs around the world is expected to continue in the future. South Korea's K-company aggressively launched small SUVs in the SUV market. Its simple lineup is recognized as a brand image, not as a SUV. It is time to evaluate this. Therefore, it influences the purchasing decisions of potential customers and buyers of small SUVs through the evaluation of design images of small SUVs in Korea. Rather than the functional properties of the SUV model, it is purchased by emotional characteristics, brand symbolism, and image. Subconsciousness of the purchasing psychology of the end consumer was used by metaphor extraction techniques. Customers wanted to study the evaluation of small SUV design images that fit their needs. We wanted to see if consumers who intend to purchase or purchase small SUVs in Korea had a connection with the image of design of small SUVs in Korea. The conclusion of the study was extracted through ZMET, a metaphor extraction technique, with the latent consciousness of the primary ambiguous message from the consumer's feeling and representation of the image. Therefore, based on the results of this study, we hope that the images presented in SUVs in the future will be used as a design guide in the development of small SUVs to influence customer thinking and behavior.
This study examined the relationship of grit, goal perception and academic adjustment of adult female students in a distance university. We additionally investigated how academic work-family conflict and social support influenced the grit-adjustment relationship. Grit is defined as passion and perseverance for long-term goals and it has been known as one of the predictors of adjustment indicators including academic achievement. A total of 642 female students in a distance university were participated in the survey and a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was utilized for data analysis. Results showed that our model fit data well, specifically, two components of grit (i.e. consistency of interest and perseverance of effort) positively predicted academic adjustment. Results from analyses of specific indirect effects revealed that consistency of interest was found to have a positive direct effect on academic adjustment while perseverance of effort had a positive indirect effect via goal perception, suggesting the discriminant predictability of grit's two components. Lastly, academic work-family conflict was found to negatively predict academic adjustment while social support predicted a positive academic adjustment via goal perception.

In the present study, we have refined gomisin N, which represents activity in the proliferation of dermal papilla cells (HFDPCs) from the fruit of Schisandra chinensis (S. chinensis), and have identified optimal extraction conditions for obtaining extracts with high content of gomisin N. The activity of the extracts and fractions was evaluated, and the results indicated approximately 29% proliferation activity in the group treated with 1 ㎍/mL of n-hexane fraction. Column chromatography was used to assess the active ingredient in the n-hexane fraction, and two compounds, namely gomisin N(1) and schisandrin(2), were isolated and identified. When the HFDPCs proliferation activity was tested for the isolated compounds, gomisin N exhibited ≥ 20% proliferation activity. Thus, via response surface methodology (RSM), the optimum extraction conditions to obtain the maximum level of gomisin N from the fruit of S. chinensis were determined, where ethanol proportion, extraction time, and extraction temperature were used as the independent variables. The results revealed coefficient of determination ≥ 0.95 and p-value ≤ 0.05, which confirmed the fit of the model. The optimum extraction conditions to achieve the maximum content of gomisin N were as follows: ethanol proportion 83.8%, extraction temperature 80 ℃, and extraction time 8.7 h. The content of gomisin N using these conditions was predicted as 378,300 ppm, and a mean value close to the predicted value (376,884 ppm) was obtained while validating the aforementioned conditions.

With the increasing number of skin care shops, service quality development that can meet the customer needs is needed to obtain differentiated competitive advantage. Accordingly this study was attempted to provide basic data on marketing necessary for operating a skin care shop by identifying the impact of service quality on perceived reciprocity and long-term relationship orientation among the customers using a skin care shop. This study conducted a survey of 290 female customers using skin care shops located in Seoul and Gyeonggi province, Jeollanamdo and Jeollabukdo, and Gyeongsangnamdo and Gyeongsangbukdo through personal visit, e-mail, and post service, and the collected data were analyzed with SPSS Ver. 18.0 and Amos Ver. 18.0. As a result, it was proven that overall goodness-of-fit to the theoretical model of the research hypotheses set in this study is good. In Hypothesis 1, "Skin care specialist's work ability, facility and sanitation, and care products had a significant positive (+) impact on perceived reciprocity," which was partially adopted. In Hypothesis 2, "Skin care specialist's work ability, care products, and devices and tools had a significant positive (+) impact on long-term relationship orientation," which was adopted. In Hypothesis 3, "Perceived reciprocity had a significant positive (+) impact on long-term relationship orientation," which was adopted. Therefore, it can be concluded that skin care specialist's work ability, facility and sanitation, care products, and devices and tools are the service quality elements for allowing customers to feel thankful or encouraging them to visit the skin care shops continuously.

Objectives : Although subclinical depression symptoms are associated with suicidal idea, most research have focused on clinical depression such as major depressive disorder or dysthymia. The aim of this study is to investigate network structure of depressive symptom and to reveal which symptoms are associated with suicidal ideation. Methods : We used part of data from the seventh Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Participants were between 19 and 65 years of age (N=8,741). Network analysis with Isingfit model is used to reveal network structure of depressive symptoms and most central symptom and edges assessed by patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9). Results : The most two central symptoms were psychomotor activity and suicidal ideation. The strongest edge was psychomotor activity-suicidal ideation. Suicidal ideation also has strong association with depressive mood and worthlessness. Conclusions : These results suggest that psychomotor activity and suicidal ideation can serve as treatment target for subclinical depression and psychomotor activity, worthlessness and depressed mood may be important factor for early intervention of suicidal ideation.
This study investigated the growth characteristics of four strains of newly developed synthetic Korean native commercial chickens (KNCs). We investigated a suitable growth curve model in KNCs and estimated the number of days to reach a 2 kg market weight. Body weight was measured at 2-week intervals from birth to 12 weeks of age. The growth curves were estimated using von Berteralanffy, Gompertz, and logistic functions. The results showed that males were significantly heavier than females at all ages, but there were no significant differences in body weight between strains, except at birth and 2 and 6 weeks of age. The coefficients of determination and adjusted determination of growth function had high goodness-of-fit (97.4~99.7). Of the growth curve parameters, the mature weight and growth ratio were higher in males than in females, but the maturity rate was similar in males and females. The inflection point occurred at approximately 7 weeks of age for females and 8 to 9 weeks of age for males. The weights estimated from the growth curve functions almost agreed with the actual weights, except for male weights estimated using the von Bertalanffy function. The coefficients of determination of the regression equations for weight to age were 0.9583 to 0.9746. The 8- and 10-week-old body weights estimated using the regression equation, and the 12-week-old weight estimated using the logistic function were most similar to the actual weight. Using these models, the estimated age of KNCs to reach 2 kg was 62.0~64.6 days for males and 74.9~78.6 days for females.
This study examined the patterns of coping strategies among Koreans during the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic, explored the influence of demographic information (gender, age, economic level, household type), along with the unusual experiences due to COVID-19 (fear, stress of COVID, constraints of routine, income risk) on the classification of subclasses, and analyzed the latent profile differences in psychological wellbeing (life satisfaction, depression, and anxiety). An online survey was conducted among Korean Adults(n=600) between April 13, 2020 and 21, when WHO declared COVID-19 a global pandemic and Daegu as well as Gyeongsangbuk-do was nominated as a special disaster zone. First, Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) was used to identify subclasses of coping strategies and results suggested that the 4-class model had the best fit. Second, Class memberships were predicted by gender, age, economic level, as well as fear, stress, constraints of routine, and income risk, among the unusual experiences due to COVID-19. Finally, there are differences in psychological wellbeing among latent profiles. 'High level of adaptive coping group 3' showed the highest level of life satisfaction, 'Adaptive-maladaptive coping group 4' showed the highest level of depression, anxiety. Implications and suggestions are discussed based on the study results.
This study evaluates the applicability of the TNT Equivalency Method, Multi-Energy Method, and Baker-Strehlow-Tang (BST) Method, which are blast prediction models used to determine the overpressure of blast wave generated from vapor cloud explosion. It is assumed that the propane leaked from a propane storage container with a capacity of 2000 kg installed in an area where studio houses and shopping centers are concentrated causes a vapor cloud explosion. The equivalent mass of TNT calculated by applying the TNT Equivalency Method is found to be 4061 kg. Change of overpressure with the distance obtained by the TNT Equivalency Method, Multi-Energy Method, and BST Method is rapid and the magnitude of overpressure obtained by the TNT Equivalency Method and BST method is generally similar within 100 m from explosion center. As a result of comparing the overpressure observed in the actual vapor cloud explosion case with the overpressure obtained by applying the TNT Equivalent Method, Multi-Energy Method, and BST Method, the BST Method is found to be the best fit. As a result of comparing the overpressure with the distance obtained by each explosion prediction model with the damage criteria for structure, it is estimated that the structure located within 90 m from explosion center would suffer a damage more than partial destruction, and glass panes of the structure separated by 600 m would be fractured.
