  • In this paper, we propose a Cluster-based Multicast Routing (CMR) suitable for mobile ad-hoc networks. The main features that our proposed method introduces are the following: a) mobility-based clustering and group based hierarchical structure in order to effectively support stability and scalability, b) group based mesh structure and forwarding tree concepts in order to support the robustness of the mesh topologies which provides limited redundancy and the efficiency of tree forwarding simultaneously, and c) combination of proactive and reactive concepts which provide low route acquisition delay and low overhead. The performance evaluation of the proposed protocol is achieved via modeling and simulation. The corresponding results demonstrate the Proposed multicast protocol's efficiency in terms of packet delivery ratio, scalability, control overhead, end-to-end delay, as a function of mobility, multicast group size, and number of senders.

  • Mobile agent is a software program that provides autonomy and mobility for the users in the networked computers by deciding its own movement place. Since mobile agent does not keep up the network connection and migrate its executable code under its own control, it can be often used in the unstable network conditions such as the wireless network and the heavy traffic network. In this paper, we show that the electronic commerce system can be developed efficiently to retrieve and trade the goods in the mobile computing environment by using the mobile agent paradigm. Multiple mobile agents migrate into the market directly, then negotiate and trade autonomously relevant goods and services. The execution result and executable code of the mobile agent are returned to the home place and reported to the users. We show that the mobile agent paradigm is suitable to build the mobile electronic commerce system by designing and prototyping the mobile market system.

  • It is necessary to check the fault of phased array antenna, when the active phased array radar installed in the site is suspected performance degradation due to external impact or long-term operation. However, the near-field test should be performed in anechoic chamber in order to measure the phased array antenna, so that much time and cost must be applied for radar disassembly and transportation, and the operational availability of the radar system is deteriorates. Therefore, we propose a near-field scanner with mobility to check the fault of the phased array antenna at the site, and the effectiveness of the proposed scanner was verified with ${\pm}0.5dB$ magnitude and ${\pm}1.5^{\circ}$ phase in comparison with measured data in anechoic chamber.

  • In this paper, we demonstrate that the organic electrophosphorescent device is driven by the organic thin film transistor with spin-coated photoacryl gate insulator. It was found that electrical output characteristics in our organic thin film transistors using the staggered-inverted top-contact structure showed the non-saturated slope in the saturation region and the sub-threshold nonlinearity in the triode region, where we obtained the maximum power luminance that was about 90 $cd/m^2$. Field effect mobility, threshold voltage, and on-off current ratio in 0.45 ${\mu}m$ thick gate dielectric layer were 0.17 $cm^2/Vs$, -7 V, and $10^6$ , respectively. In order to form polyimide as a gate insulator, vapor deposition polymerization process was also introduced instead of spin-coating process, where polyimide film was co-deposited by high-vacuum thermal evaporation from 4,4'-oxydiphthalic anhydride (ODPA) and 4,4'-oxydianiline (ODA) and cured at 150${\sqsubset}$for 1hr. It was also found that field effect mobility, threshold voltage, on-off current ratio, and sub-threshold slope with 0.45 ${\mu}m$ thick gate dielectric films were 0.134 $cm^2/Vs$, -7 V, and $10^6$ A/A, and 1 V/decade, respectively.

  • When using the Mobile IP which is the representative technology to secure the mobility in general IP networks, the packet loss during the handover is inescapable. To remedy the packet loss problem, the smooth handover was introduced. However, the smooth handover causes the packets sequence disruption during the packet forwarding procedure and it may result in the degradation of the network performance. The same problem also occurs in the WiBro (High-speed Portable Internet) system that is the next generation portable IP service system. The WiBro system, which provides the high speed data service just like xDSL and leased line in wired internet, aims to guarantee the portability, mobility, and the differentiated service based on IEEE 802.16. So, the handover mechanisms that solve the problems of packet loss and packet sequence distribution are required in the WiBro system. In this paper, we propose the handover mechanism and the packet sequence control algorithm that provide the reliability and the differentiated service for the unicast service in the WiBro system.

  • Mobile multi-robot teams are useful in many critical applications such as search and rescue. Explicit communication among robots in such mobile multi-robot teams is useful for the coordination of such teams as well as exchanging data. Since many applications for mobile robots involve scenarios in which communication infrastructure may be damaged or unavailable, mobile robot teams frequently need to communicate with each other via ad hoc networking. In such scenarios, low-overhead and energy-efficient routing protocols for delivering messages among robots are a key requirement. Two important primitives for communication are essential for enabling a wide variety of mobile robot applications. First, unicast communication (between two robots) needs to be provided to enable coordination and data exchange. Second, in many applications, group communication is required for flexible control, organization, and management of the mobile robots. Multicast provides a bandwidth-efficient communication method between a source and a group of robots. In this paper, we first propose and evaluate two unicast routing protocols tailored for use in ad hoc networks formed by mobile multi-robot teams: Mobile robot distance vector (MRDV) and mobile robot source routing (MRSR). Both protocols exploit the unique mobility characteristics of mobile robot networks to perform efficient routing. Our simulation study show that both MRDV and MRSR incur lower overhead while operating in mobile robot networks when compared to traditional mobile ad hoc network routing protocols such as DSR and AODV. We then propose and evaluate an efficient multicast protocol mobile robot mesh multicast (MRMM) for deployment in mobile robot networks. MRMM exploits the fact that mobile robots know what velocity they are instructed to move at and for what distance in building a long lifetime sparse mesh for group communication that is more efficient. Our results show that MRMM provides an efficient group communication mechanism that can potentially be used in many mobile robot application scenarios.

  • This paper develops a scheme of resource management for guaranteeing QoS of realtime traffic in wireless mobile internet environments Mobile terminal has significant impact on the QoS originating mobility provided to a real-time application. The currently proposed MRSVP is not clear the boundary of resource reservation tregion and also can give rise to signal overhead to maintain sessions. To solve above problem, we propose the new reservation protocol, mobile cluster based H-MRSVP to combine MRSVP with moving cluster concept. In this paper, we analytically design our model for guaranteeing the QoS of realtime traffic and compare the three schemes: guard channel allocation schemes, DCA and our model. The performance measures are the probabilities of new call blocking, handoff dropping, resource utilization and service completion versus the system offered Erlang load. Consequently, Simulation indicate our model is more flexible than DCA in a view pint of channel utilization and gains the advantage over guard channel scheme with respects to the mobility.

  • Adaptive modulation is the method to increase the throughput of the mobile system using the power margin of the system design. In this paper, we propose the method to change adaptive modulation parameters for the stable system operation by monitoring the mobility of the mobile station. The proposed method measures the instanteneous mobility of the mobile station monitoring the closed power control data. The MPSK modulation method is used for the basic modulation method because of the hardware implementation. Using the proposed method we can get the more powerful throughput. By the system simulation to verify the evaluation of the proposed algorithm, we can notice the algorithm is more efficient than the typical method

  • Thin film transistors (TFTs) based on oxide semiconductors have emerged as a promising technology, particularly for active-matrix TFT-based backplanes. Currently, an amorphous oxide semiconductor, such as InGaZnO, has been adopted as the channel layer due to its higher electron mobility. However, accurate and repeatable control of this complex material in mass production is not easy. Therefore, simpler polycrystalline materials, such as ZnO and $SnO_2$, remain possible candidates as the channel layer. Inparticular, ZnO-based TFTs have attracted considerable attention, because of their superior properties that include wide bandgap (3.37eV), transparency, and high field effect mobility when compared with conventional amorphous silicon and polycrystalline silicon TFTs. There are some technical challenges to overcome to achieve manufacturability of ZnO-based TFTs. One of the problems, the stability of ZnO-based TFTs, is as yet unsolved since ZnO-based TFTs usually contain defects in the ZnO channel layer and deep level defects in the channel/dielectric interface that cause problems in device operation. The quality of the interface between the channel and dielectric plays a crucial role in transistor performance, and several insulators have been reported that reduce the number of defects in the channel and the interfacial charge trap defects. Additionally, ZnO TFTs using a high quality interface fabricated by a two step atomic layer deposition (ALD) process showed improvement in device performance In this study, we report the fabrication of high performance ZnO TFTs with a $Si_3N_4$ gate insulator treated using plasma. The interface treatment using electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) $O_2$ plasma improves the interface quality by lowering the interface trap density. This process can be easily adapted for industrial applications because the device structure and fabrication process in this paper are compatible with those of a-Si TFTs.

  • Methylcyclohexane is frequently used in industrial sites (2,592tons/year) as rubber adhesives, ink, paint thinners, organic solvents, and so on. However, there are limited data on the toxic evaluation of methylcyclohexane. This study aims to predict the hazards and neurological effects of methylcyclohexane using SD rats in order to prevent health disorders of workers. The OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals (OECD, 2001) was used as a reference during the tests. For 13 weeks (once a day, five days per week) 0, 10, 100 and 1,000mg/kg/day of methylcyclohexane was injected to SD rats to observe any changes in the body or organ weight, hematology, histopathology, mobility, blood pressure, and neurotransmitter. As a result, some male and female SD rats injected with 1,000mg/kg/day of methylcyclohexane died. On the other hand, surviving rats showed significant changes such as hematological changes involving the decrease in the number of red blood corpuscles, and the decrease or increase in the weight of the lungs, kidneys, spleens, and livers (p< 0.05, p<0.01). Also histopathological lesions were observed in the hearts and kidneys. In the test for the effect on the nervous system, SD rats injected with 100mg/kg/day of methylcyclohexane had higher blood pressure levels compared to the control group. However, no abnormal effects was observed in the mobility, serotonin, neurotransmitter, and the biopsy of the brain and coronary arteries. The study results revealed that the livers, hearts, and kidneys were affected by methylcyclohexane. The absolute toxic dose of methylcyclohexane is 1,000mg/kg/day, NOAEL is 100 mg/kg/day, and it is not a toxic substance to the nervous system.
