The IEEE 802.16 wireless metropolitan area network (WMAN) standard is designed to correct expensive communication costs in CDMA-based mobile communication systems and limited coverage problems in wireless LAN systems. Thus, the IEEE 802.16e standard can provide mobile high-speed packet access between mobile stations and the Internet service provider through the base station with cheap communication fees. To efficiently accommodate voice over IP (VoIP) services in IEEE 802.16 systems, an uplink quality of service packet-scheduling scheme is proposed, and its performance is evaluated with an NS-2 network simulator in this paper. Numerical results show that this proposed scheme can increase the system capacity by 100% more than in the unsolicited rand service (UGS) scheme and 30% more than the extended real-time polling service (ertPS) scheme, respectively.

The era of convergence is being applied to all areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The convergence of broadcasting service and communication service almost occurs on smart devices including smartphone. The smart hybrid Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) is a typical example of the convergence of broadcasting and wireless communication service. The hybrid mobile broadcasting service can support seamless video, 3D, high quality, and additional data services based on network connection between the broadcasting and wireless network. The gateway and terminal (including apps on the smartphone) take the role of the main components on the hybrid service. This paper presents the service concept, main components structure, the implementation of gateway and terminals, and field test to the urban areas for the mobile hybrid system.

In this paper, we propose a real-time remote logging model for development of android applications using LBS(Location based Service). The model has two major parts: Mobile Log Management Service and Remote Log Server. Mobile Log Management Service consists of the log collector and the remote log manager. The log collector is an aspect of AOP which can collect logs from the target application without modifications of source codes. The remote log manager has a background service component so that it can receive logs whenever the log collector captures logs from the target application. Remote Log Server communicates with Mobile Log Management Service by socket interface. Therefore, Remote Log Server can show logs in real-time. To validate the efficiency of the proposed model, we show a case study, and compare the model with other models.

This paper presents a novel method to design and implement mobile u-health system by defining the essential elements of mobile healthcare services. We choose common service elements for the proposed u-healthcare scheme and design the service platform. Especially we focus on automatic feces or urine sensing u-care scheme to prove the effectiveness of our platform. We construct the system with sensing part with a manikin and a diaper wireless communication part with feces or urine sensing data, and coordinator system based on the u-health platform defined in this paper. Experimental results show that our scheme is useful in the area of u-care service for the handicapped, the elderly, and patients who can hardly move by themselves. In addition the designed scheme offers a realized u-care scheme with the purpose of advanced developing tools for application or service developers.

In universal mobile telecommunication system, authentication functions are utilized to identify and authentication a mobile station and validate the service request network services. The authenticating parties are the authentication the serving general packet radio service support node access the authentication center to obtain the authentication with the mobile station. In this paper, we propose that the automatic cost-effective solution size of the authentication vector array.

Recently, PDA and cellular phone with color LCD have been widely used in various fields by high efficiency and micro miniaturization technology. According to maturity of these mobile environments, user request about mobile application field is increased. Mobile applications provide various information which is concerned with user's position through cable and wireless transmission. This paper discusses the issues related to the mobile framework for integrated 4S data. The integrated 4S data mean spatial data fusion on GIS, SIIS, ITS, and GNSS. The mobile framework provides not only spatial data but also location services such as reverse geocoding, directory service, etc. It consists of client subsystem, service provider, and data provider.

모바일 RFID 환경에서의 객체 디렉토리 서비스(Object Directory Service: ODS)는 사물과 사물간의 통신 및 정보검색을 위해 반드시 필요한 핵심 인프라 요소 기술로서, 사물의 객체 정보가 있는 서버의 위치를 모바일 RFID 태그를 통해 실시간으로 인식하여 검색하는 서비스이다. 현재 ODS 검색 서비스는 글로벌한 모바일 RFID 환경에 적합하지만, 지역적인 로컬 네트워크 및 정보보안이 필요한 사설 네트워크에서는 불필요한 검색시간이 요구되고 효율성이 떨어지는 서비스 시스템이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 ODS 검색 서비스 알고리즘을 개선하여 새롭게 로컬 환경에 적합한 ODS 검색 서비스 알고리즘을 제안하고, 개선된 ODS 검색 서비스 시스템의 성능평가 결과를 제시한다.

본 연구에서는 시범서비스 단계에 있는 모바일 RFID 서비스를 품질측면, 가치측면, 만족/불평측면, 충성도 측면을 고려한 평가차원을 개발하고 평가함으로써 관련 이동통신서비스 제공자 및 실무담당자들에게 모바일 RFID 서비스와 관련한 유용한 시사점들을 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적을 위해 모바일 RFID 시범서비스 경험이 있는 일반 고객들을 대상으로 웹 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 표본 350부를 본 연구의 분석을 위해 사용하였으며, SPSS 12.0k 툴을 사용하여 모바일 RFID 서비스를 평가하고 고객특성에 따른 차이분석도 실시하였다. 분석결과를 토대로 이동통신 서비스 관련 실무담당자 및 관리자들에게 상용화 이전에 모바일 RFID 서비스 평가결과를 통해 얻을 수 있는 서비스 개선방안 등과 같은 유용한 시사점들을 실증연구를 기반으로 제공하였다.

최근 정보통신기술의 발전으로 한정된 장소에서만 볼 수 있는 기존의 TV 서비스와는 달리 DMB 기술을 통해 이동하면서 언제 어디서나 TV를 즐길 수 있을 정도의 기술이 개발 되었다. 이러한 이동식 TV 서비스의 최신 기술인 Mobile IPTV 서비스의 기반이 되는 IPTV 기술에 대해 살펴보고 IPTV 기술의 장점인 양방향 서비스와 DMB 기술의 장점인 이동성을 결합시켜 언제 어디서나 양방향 TV 서비스를 받을 수 있는 기술인 Mobile IPTV 서비스에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 또한 Mobile IPTV의 문제점, Mobile IPTV의 추진현황 (서비스), Mobile IPTV 향후 방향에 대해 분석하고자 한다. 마지막으로 새롭게 제안된 고속의 중복주소 검사를 통하여 무선 환경에서 IPTV 서비스 단절을 최소화 시키는 방법을 설명한다.
