Development of Automatic Voice System for Foreign Patients in Testing of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (자기공명영상 검사에서 외국인 환자를 위한 자동음성 시스템 개발)

  • The purpose of this study intend to develop the automatic voice system for language communicating over foreign patients in testing of magnetic resonance imaging. Used sentences for the automatic voice system was selected with twelve sentences and five foreign languages in hospital in use. These translated texts were provided free of charge from Oddcast's website, which is recorded each language-specific voice as Wav files, The recorded audio file were produced by the two types of a power-point show of MS-office 2013(extension; ppsx) form and Web-enabled system using the PHP program to be applied in the mobile phone environment. It is considered to relieve the stress about an language barrier to medical technician and the voice system designed with the variable language will be enhanced the diagnostic information on foreign patients. Because automatic voice system designed for this study can enhance the understanding of test in between korean medical technician and foreign patients, It will be expected to utilize more usefully in clinical practice.

  • In thispaper, we designed a intelligent autonomous driving robot by using Fuzzy algorithm. The object of designed robot is recognition of obstacle, avoidance of obstacle and safe arrival. We append a suspension system to auxiliary wheel for improvement in stability and movement. The designed robot can arrive at destination where is wanted to go by the old and the weak and the handicapped at indoor hospital and building.

  • To increase the overall utility and decrease the link delay and power consumption, a joint optimal cross-layer design of congestion control at the transport layer, link delay at the data link layer and power allocation at the physical layer for mobile ad hoc networks is considered in this paper. As opposed to previous work, the rate outage probability in this work is based on exactly closed-form; therefore, the proposed method can guarantee the globally optimal solutions to the underlying problem. The non-convex formulated problem is transformed into a convex one, which is solved by exploiting the duality technique. Finally, simulation results verify that our proposal achieves considerable benefits over the existing method.

  • In this paper, we develop a 2.4GHz ISM band wireless communication platform prototype based on embedded linux which support can be u-Hospital service. The developed system is available connecting between ARM920T processor board and FPGA board and linking IEEE 802.11b PHY board, AD/DA(10Bit) and RF(2.4GHz) board for wireless access. It is also can be utilized for the embedded system design with IEEE 802.11b/g Access Point(Option: IEEE 802.11a/b/g) test due to the Embedded Linux. Also, the developed system is possible to test and verify the radio access technology, Modem(OFDM etc) and IP(Intellectual Property) circuit. And make the most use of the system, we search for a expansion to that home and mobile healthcare, wellness service application.

An IoT-Aware System for Managing Patients' Waiting Time Using Bluetooth Low-Energy Technology

  • It is a common observation that whenever any patient arrives at the front desk of a hospital, outpatient clinic, or other health-associated centers, they have to first queue up in a line and wait to fill in their registration form to get admitted. The long waiting time without any status updates is the most common complaint, worrying health officials. In this paper, UrNext, a location-aware mobile-based solution using Bluetooth low-energy (BLE) technology, is presented to solve the problem. Recently, a technology-oriented method has been gaining popularity in solving the healthcare sector's problems, namely the Internet of Things (IoT). The implementation of this solution could be explained through a simple example that when a patient arrives at a clinic for her consultation. There, instead of having to wait in long lines, she will be greeted automatically, receive a push notification telling her that she has been admitted along with an estimated waiting time for her consultation session. This will not only provide the patients with a sense of freedom but would also reduce uncertainty levels that are generally observed, thus saving both time and money. This work aimed to improve clinics' quality of services and organize queues and minimize waiting times in clinics, leading to patient comfortability and reducing the burden on nurses and receptionists. The results demonstrated that the presented system was successful in its performance and helped achieve high usability.

  • Location-based services allow consumers to receive services based on their geographic location data. For example, businesses can provide information to find traffic facility, public restaurant, a hospital, and a station based on the consumer’s location at a particular moment. Also, they wish to grasp a accurate location based service in mobile device or PDA. So, this paper shows that presentation service offers a base-map to be overlaid OpenLS (Open Location Services)’s directory service, route determination service, geocode and reverse-geocode service. The presentation service is the portrayal of a map and portrayal of feature as map overlays.

  • 인구의 고령화로 만성질환자가 증가함에 따라 개인건강관리를 위한 U 헬스 서비스에 관심이 증대되고 있다. U 헬스 서비스를 활용하기 위해서는 다양한 생체정보를 간편하게 측정하는 개인건강기기(PHD, Personal Health Device)가 필요하다. 하지만 혈압, 심전도, 혈당, 산소포화도 등을 측정하는 개인건강기기는 제작 회사마다 서로 다른 프로토콜과 포맷으로 개발되어 기기간의 상호 운용성(Interoperability)이 보장되지 않는다. 또한 각기 다른 포맷으로 측정된 데이터를 병원정보시스템(HIS, Hospital Information System)간 공유하고 관리하는데 어려움이 존재한다. 이에 따라, 본 논문에서는 개인건강기기 국제 표준인 IEEE 11073 PHD 를 기반으로 다양한 개인건강기기와 실시간으로 통신하며, 측정된 생체정보를 관리하고 전송하는 모바일 헬스케어 매니저 설계를 제시한다. 제시한 매니저는 다양한 모바일 기기 중 스마트폰 기반으로 설계하였고, 각기 다른 포맷으로 측정된 데이터를 국제표준 메시지 교환방식인 HL7 (Health Level Seven)메시지로 변환하여 전달하는 게이트웨이 역할을 담당한다.

Effects of 835-MHz Radiofrequency Radiation on the Chromosomal DNA of Mouse Thymic Lymphoma L5178Y $Tk^{+/-}$ Cells

  • This study was focused on the risk assessment of whether radiofrequency electromagnetic fields generated by mobile phone is cytogenetically toxic or not. We conducted the effects of 835-MHz electromagnetic field (EMF) on DNA strand breaks in mouse thymic lymphoma L5178Y $Tk^{+/1-}$ cells using alkaline comet assay. EMF frequency 835-MHz we chosen is one of the most popular communication frequency bands in Korean code-division multiple-access (CDMA) mobile phone system. The cells were exposed to 835-MHz EMF alone or 835-MHz EMF combined with cyclophosamide(CPA) or 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide (4NQO) at specific absorption rate (SAR) of 4.0 W $kg^{-l}$ for 24 and 48hrs. DNA damage expressed as tail moment was increased more than two-fold after exposure to 835-MHz EMF for 24 and 48hr. In particular, CPA for 48hr and 4NQO for 24 hr enhanced notably the tail moment to 9-fold and 16-fold in the presence of 835-MHz EMF, respectively, compared to each single treatment. From these results, it appears that exposure to CDMA-mobile phone radiation at 835-MHz frequency may potentiate DNA strand breaks of mouse thymic lymphoma L5178Y $Tk^{+/1-}$;cells under the defined conditions of this study.

  • Recently, the business environment of healthcare has changed rapidly due to the entering the mobile era, the intensifying global competition, and the explosion of healthcare needs. Despite of necessity in expanding new IT-based medical services and investing IT resources to respond environmental changes, the small and medium sized hospitals could not realize these requirements due to the limited management resources. CHISSMH is designed and presented in this research to provide high valued clouding medical services with reasonable price. CHISME is designed to maximize resource pooling and sharing through the visualization. By doing so, Cloud Service provider could minimize maintenance cost of cloud data center, provide high level services with reasonable pay-per-use price.   • This study discusses the development of a u-Health care system that can detect quickly and cope actively with emergent situations of chronic disease patients who lead everyday life. If a patient's emergent situation is detected by personal health care host(PHCH), which is composed of acceleration and vibration sensors, GPS, and CDMA communication module, a text message on the patient's current location is transmitted to the hospital and the guardian's mobile terminal so that they can cope with the situation immediately. Especially, the system analyzes data from sensors by using neural network and determines emergent situations such as syncope and convulsion promptly. The exact location of patients can also be found in the electronic map by using GPS information. The experiments show that this system is very effective to find emergencies promptly for chronic disease patients who cannot take care of themselves and it is expected to save many lives.
