Automatic Recognition of Bank Security Card Using Smart Phone (스마트폰을 이용한 은행 보안카드 자동 인식)

  • Among the various services for mobile banking, user authentication method using bank security card is still very useful. We can use mobile banking easily and safely in case of saving encoded security codes in smart phone and entering codes automatically whenever user authentication is required without bank security card. In this paper automatic recognition algorithm of security codes of bank security card is proposed in oder to enroll the encoded security codes into smart phone using smart phone camera. Advanced adaptive binarization is used for extracting digit segments from various background image pattern and adaptive 2-dimensional layout analysis method is developed for segmentation and recognition of damaged or touched digits. Experimental results of proposed algorithm using Android and iPhone, show excellent security code recognition results.

  • 사물인터넷(Internet of Things)의 도래와 함께, 무선공유기(wireless access point)들의 보안이 심각한 문제로 대두되고 있다. 연구진은 대부분의 무선공유기들이 제공하는 웹 기반 관리 인터페이스들에 웹 어플리케이션 취약점(web application vulnerability)들이 존재할 수 있다는 점을 착안, 국내 주요 무선공유기들에 대한 웹 어플리케이션 취약점 점검을 수행하였으며, 악용이 가능한 여러 취약점들이 존재함을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서는 연구진이 무선공유기 대상 웹 어플리케이션 취약점 점검에 보조적으로 사용하기 위하여 개발한 3종의 모바일 앱(mobile app)들을 설명한다.

  • We studied smart door lock of triple security system that strengthened the security capability as it is thought that the criminal case by security vulnerability of door lock is serious in modern society. Remote locking/unlocking function, voice recognition function through mobile phone application built on Eclipse App and optical fingerprint recognition function are implemented in the door lock. Finally, it was confirmed that the security of the door lock can be strengthened through evaluation results of the app-based operation test, the voice recognition operation test, and the fingerprint recognition operation test on the experiment-made door lock system.

Perceived Usefulness and Risks and Behavioral Intentions of Mobile Fashion Apps -Focus Group Interviews with Chinese Students Studying in Korea- (모바일 패션 앱의 지각된 유용성과 위험 및 행동의도 -중국인 유학생 초점집단 면접 조사-)

  • This exploratory study investigated Chinese consumers' perceived usefulness and risks of fashion apps and identified reasons for continuance and discontinuance intentions. This study conducted focus group interviews with a convenience sample of 13 Chinese students majoring in fashion in Korea. Based on interviewee responses, this study identified five attributes leading the perceived usefulness of mobile fashion apps (ubiquity and convenience, multi-media information, personalization, interactivity between consumers, and immediateness) and sub elements related to the five attributes. Five types of perceived risk (privacy risk, security risk, product risk, loss of future opportunity, and time risk) were identified in relation to Chinese consumers' use of fashion apps. The important role of live streaming services was uniquely identified by Chinese fashion app users. Usefulness of location-based information provided by mobile fashion apps were differently perceived according to respondents' use purpose, and augmented reality services provided by the apps were related to entertainment rather than usefulness. This study provides meaningful insights into Chinese consumers' perceptions of fashion apps and important app attributes that influence their continuance and discontinuance intentions. The findings from this study lend preliminary implications for future researchers and fashion businesses interested in the Chinese app market.

  • As mobile terminal environment gets matured, the use of Android platform based mobile terminals has been growing high. Recently, the number of attacks by malicious application is also increasing as Android platform is vulnerable to private information leakage in nature. Most of these malicious applications are easily distributed to general users through open market or internet and an attacker inserts malicious code into malicious app which could be harmful tool to steal private data and banking data such as SMS, contacts list, and public key certificate to a remote server. To cope with these security threats more actively, it is necessary to develop countermeasure system that enables to detect security vulnerability existing in mobile device and take an appropriate action to protect the system against malicious attacks. In this sense, this paper aggregates diverse system events from multiple mobile devices and also implements a system to detect attacks by malicious application.

  • Recently, number of tablet or Smartphone users increased significantly in domestic and around the world. But violation of personal information such as leakage, misuse and abuse are constantly occurring by using mobile devices which is very useful in our society. Therefore, in this paper it will talk about the problems in the network environment of the mobile environment such as tablet and Smartphone, Mobile Malware, hacking of the public key certificate, which could be potential threat to mobile environment. This thesis will research for people to use their mobile devices more reliable and safer in mobile environment from invasion and leakage of personal information. In order to use Smartphone safely, users have to use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth carefully in the public area. This paper will research how to use App safely and characteristic of risk of worm and Malware spreading. Because of security vulnerabilities of the public key certificate, it will suggest new type of security certification. In order to prevent from the information leakage and infect from Malware in mobile environment without knowing, this thesis will analyze the improved way to manage and use the mobile device.

The Study on the Structural Relationship for Improving Convergency Mobile Public Service : Focused on Mobile App of Integrated Electronic Tax Bill (융복합 모바일 공공서비스 성과 향상 위한 구조적 관계에 관한연구 : 통합 전자세금 청구서 앱을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among app's and user's characteristics, perceived use easiness, use intention, and actual use in mobile app of integrated electronic tax bill. Appropriate measures were developed and this study used structural equation modeling to analyze the relationships among the constructs. The results of 215 taxpayers showed that informativeness, security of app's characteristics, and innovativeness of user's characteristics have positive impacts on perceived use easiness but convenience and familiarity have negative impacts on it. Perceived use easiness, convenience, and security have positive impacts on use intention but familiarity has a negative impact on it. Use intention has a positive impact on actual use but perceived use easiness has a negative impact on it. Thus, managers should focus on the app's and user's characteristics for effectiveness and efficiency of integrated electronic tax bill.

  • In this paper, we designed, implemented, and verified the SLAM system that can be used on mobile devices. Mobile SLAM is composed of a stand-alone type that directly performs SLAM operation on a mobile device, and a mapping server type that additionally configures a mapping server based on FastAPI to perform SLAM operation on the server and transmits data for map visualization to a mobile device. The mobile SLAM system proposed in this paper is to mix the two types in order to make SLAM operation and map generation more efficient. The stand-alone type SLAM system was configured as an Android app by porting the OpenVSLAM library to the Unity engine, and the map generation and performance were evaluated on desktop PCs and mobile devices. The mobile SLAM system in this paper is an open source project, so it is expected to help develop AR contents based on SLAM in a mobile environment.

A Novel Technique for Detection of Repacked Android Application Using Constant Key Point Selection Based Hashing and Limited Binary Pattern Texture Feature Extraction

  • Repacked mobile apps constitute about 78% of all malware of Android, and it greatly affects the technical ecosystem of Android. Although many methods exist for repacked app detection, most of them suffer from performance issues. In this manuscript, a novel method using the Constant Key Point Selection and Limited Binary Pattern (CKPS: LBP) Feature extraction-based Hashing is proposed for the identification of repacked android applications through the visual similarity, which is a notable feature of repacked applications. The results from the experiment prove that the proposed method can effectively detect the apps that are similar visually even that are even under the double fold content manipulations. From the experimental analysis, it proved that the proposed CKPS: LBP method has a better efficiency of detecting 1354 similar applications from a repository of 95124 applications and also the computational time was 0.91 seconds within which a user could get the decision of whether the app repacked. The overall efficiency of the proposed algorithm is 41% greater than the average of other methods, and the time complexity is found to have been reduced by 31%. The collision probability of the Hashes was 41% better than the average value of the other state of the art methods.
