  • Game and Animation are considered as two different fields. The definition of animation is 'moving picture' and game is a kind of animation which can be controlled by users. Actually, many principles of animation are applied to the production of games, and are even more emphasized in the mobile game contents which are becoming popular these days because of the characteristics of mobile devices such as small screen size. In this paper, we study on the application of the 12 principles of animation through the making of a mobile 3D game called 'Fly to the music' and that game is going to be serviced in late 2006 by SK Telecom. Moreover, we studied the differences between 3d mobile game animation and ordinary animation.

  • Mobile industry has been progressed rapidly with new mobile technique develpment. The mobile is a communication device for the young generation and give great additional images through animations and characters. It is expected that the mobile industry would elevate greatly in means of the animation characters that is connected directly, closely, and amicably to the sense of humane beings. Of those animations, 3D animation is a high communication technique that rinks to directly the expression of person in way of a sense of space, three dimension, and reality. Surely the new 3D animation will be developed constantly and in various way. It is consideralbe that the manufacture of 3D mobile animation links closely to cartoon that forms concerns of people.

  • The next generation of 3D mobile games market is becoming increasingly active, more as a result of improvement in the CPU speed of hardware phone, embarkation of 3D engines and high memory capacity, In response to this trend, popular 3D games of PS2 (PlayStation2) and popular online games are being launched as mobile games. However, mobile units have different hardware characteristics compared to those of other platforms such as the PC or the game console. Therefore, mobile game versions of the popular PC games face many limitations in many aspects such as in battery capacity, size of display, capacity of the game, and other user interface issues. Among these many limitations, study for allowing low capacity storage of the game is becoming important. In addition, realistic animation of the 3D character on the small screen of the mobile unit is more important than any other matter. The purpose of this study is to find a solution to providing realistic 3D character animation, and for decreasing the storage capacity of character animation for application in 3D mobile games.

  • The informatization of Korea is accompanied by the great growth of new strategic export industry, as of mobile phone or semiconductor LCD. Speaking to the situation of mobile phone, Motorola swept over the American domestic market in the beginning of 1990s, digital mobile communication as CDMA developed swiftly in Korea. In 1996, the first year's CDMA users of Samsung were merely one million, nevertheless, the world's sales in the first half of this year is up to 92 million. In this p aper I design 3D application based on J2ME and implement a freely removable 3D object which happened in a 3D scen e by receiving the keyboard response of mobile device with WTK (Wireless ToolKit) simulator. It contains benefits of improvement of relative speed and high-level functionality such as scene graph, keyframe animation, etc.

  • This paper presents a fire and smoke animation system using stable fluid animation techniques. Stable and fast fluid simulation methods are developed in PC and console games, but fluid simulation and interactive fluid models still have many problems. We studied and implemented physics-based models for fluids like fire and smoke effects using mobile 3D system. The mobile platform of our system is WIPI, which are the standard mobile platform in Korea also we adopted NF3D API for our 3D programming API.

  • This paper presents a watermarking method for copyright protection and illegal copy prevention of mobile 3D contents. The proposed method embeds copyright information and user's phone number into spatial domain and encryption domain of mobile animation data based on Buyer-Seller watermarking protocol. Furthermore, we insert user's operation key so that only authorized user can play 3D animation game in mobile device. We implemented the proposed method by using mobile animation tool, G3-SDK. From experimental results, we verified that the proposed method is capable of copyright protection and illegal copy prevention since the watermark can be well extracted against geometrical attacks, such as noise addition, data accuracy variableness and data up/down scaling.

  • The work of creating character motion needs the higher professional technology and sense and the creating work of realistic and natural motion possess the most part of production term. In this paper we introduce the easy and convenient 3D animation authoring tool which makes the motion based on whole-body inverse kinematics and motion editing function. The proposed 3D animation authoring tool uses the forward kinematics using quaternion and whole-body inverse kinematics to determine the rotation and displacement of skeleton. Also, it provides the motion editing function using multi-level B-spline with quasi-interpolant. By using the proposed tool, we can make 3D animation easily and conveniently.

  • Recently, percentage of people who use SMS service is increasing. However, it is difficult to express own complicated emotion with text and emoticon of exited SMS service. This paper focuses on that point and practical uses character animation to express emotion and nuance correctly, funny. Also this paper suggests emotion based gesture animation generation system that use character's facial expression and gesture to delivery emotion excitably and clearly than only speaking. Michel[1] investigated interview movies of a person whose gesturing style they wish to animate and suggested gesture generation graph for stylized gesture animation. In this paper, we make focus to analyze and abstracted emotional gestures of Disney animation characters and did 3D modeling of these emotional gestures expanding Michel[1]'s research. To express emotion of person, suggests a emotion gesture generation graph that reflects emotion flow graph express emotion flow for probability. We investigated user reaction for research the propriety of suggested system and alternation propriety.

  • With the development of OSMU mode in the game industry, the most popular 3D mobile game 'Honour Of Kings' in China, in addition to the entertainment effects of the game itself, has paid more attention to the production of promotional animation video contents in recent years. The huge animation market is generating abundant game revenue for 'Honour Of Kings'. This paper selected the most popular game promotional animations 'MU BIAO' and 'Bu Ye Chang'an' through a survey of 30 CG promotional animation in the official story station of 'Honour of Kings'. Important elements such as rich stories and the special effects of the gorgeous scenes, etc are summarized. Through the research of this paper, grasped the importance of promotional animation content in the game industry, and can expect the common growth of the game industry and the animation industry, which is one of the ways to create high profits in the game market.
