항공 수송 임무 수행을 위한 Avionics 시스템의 기능 분석 (Functional analysis of Avionics system for an air transport mission)

  • Avionics system's function for an air transport mission is analysed. The starting point for designing a Avionics system is a clear understanding of the mission requirements and the requirement allocation by the top level aircraft system. Therefore, the analysis begins by making a top-down analysis to the aircraft missions. The baseline mission is divided into segments, and each segment is subjected to a detailed analysis to establish the requirements for the Avionics system. Special attention is given to capture the key aspects of interfaces, and to incorporate them into the design.

  • 달 착륙선의 항법 시스템은 자율 정밀 항법 성능을 확보하기 위해 관성측정기와 별추적기, 고도계, 속도계, 지형상대항법 카메라 등 다양한 항법용 전장부품으로 구성되는데 착륙선의 착륙 시나리오와 임무 요구 성능에 따라 적합한 성능의 항법용 전장부품 선정이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 달 착륙선에 요구되는 항법용 전장부품의 사양을 공분산해석을 통해 분석하였다. 77차 상태변수로 구성되는 기준 시스템 오차모델과 센서의 측정모델을 정의하고 착륙선의 임무 요구 성능은 90m($3{\sigma}$) 착륙 위치 정확도를 요구하는 정밀탐사 임무와 6km($3{\sigma}$)의 착륙 오차가 허용되는 영역탐사 임무로 구분하였다. 자율항법 시작 시점에 따라 PDI(Powered descent initiation)와 DOI(Deorbit initiation) 시나리오로 나누고 항법용 전장부품의 조합과 착륙 시나리오에 따른 성능 분석을 통해 가상의 임무 요구 성능을 만족하기 위한 항법 시스템의 요구사양을 도출하였다.

국방기획관리체계 개선을 위한 임무공학 적용방안에 관한연구-소요기획과 획득체계를 중심으로- (A Study on the Mission Engineering Applications for Improving the Defense Planning Management System -Focusing on the Requirement Planning and Acquisition -)

  • 본 연구는 급변하는 안보환경에 대응하기 위해 미국에서 적용 중인 임무공학(Mission Engineering) 개념과 방법론을 한국의 국방기획관리체계에 도입하는 방안을 모색하였다. 이를 위해 문헌연구와 선행연구 분석, 사례분석, 심층그룹인터뷰(FGI) 등을 통해 임무공학의 핵심요소를 도출하고, 이를 바탕으로 한국군의 소요기획과 신속 획득체계 개선방안을 제시하였다. 연구 결과, 운용개념, 요구성능(능력), 획득이 임무공학 적용을 위한 3대 핵심요소로 식별되었다. 개선방안으로는 임무 중심의 소요기획 체계로의 전환, 운용개념 작성 시 임무공학 방법론 적용, 의사결정 지원을 통한 획득기간 단축, 신속 획득을 위한 예산 배정 및 소요군 역량 강화 등이 제안되었다. 본 연구는 임무공학의 필요성과 적용 가능성을 확인하고, 향후 국방기획관리체계 발전을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • This paper describes link analysis on the processed data, HRIT (High Rate Information Transmission) and LRIT (Low Rate Information Transmission), for the preliminary design of interface between COMS (Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite) and ground station. At the MODAC (MeteorologicaVOcean Data Application Center), the processed data are transmitted to user station via COMS with normalization and calibration by pre-processing of MI (Meteorological Imager) data. Due to consider satellite as radio relay, overall analysis containing uplink and downlink is needed. Specific link parameters can be obtained with using the outcomes of SRR (System Requirement Review) which was held on 13-14 June 2005, in Toulouse. From the relation between overall link margin and output power of HPA (High Power Amplifier) of MODAC, it is shown that even though the minimum power related with COMS receiving power range is transmitted at MODAC, the obtained link margin of HRIT could be above 3 dB at user station which antenna elevation angle is 10 degree.

  • The South Korean Navy is making efforts to acquire vessels that the new technology of the 4th industry is applied, and as a part of these efforts, it has a plan to mount and operate an Unmanned Surface Vehicle(USV) on a vessel that will be introduced later. However, the recent studies have focused on only development of common platforms and mission equipment for the USV, and have not sufficiently analyzed studies and operatinoal requirements on mother ship that will operate the mounted USV. Hence, this study analyzed and presented requirements of mother ship with the mounted USV in order to operate effectively it when the future medium and large vessels to be acquired by the South Korean Navy intent to operate the USV.

Analysis of Inter-satellite Ranging Precision for Gravity Recovery in a Satellite Gravimetry Mission

  • In a satellite gravimetry mission similar to GRACE, the precision of inter-satellite ranging is one of the key factors affecting the quality of gravity field recovery. In this paper, the impact of ranging precision on the accuracy of recovered geopotential coefficients is analyzed. Simulated precise orbit determination (POD) data and inter-satellite range data of formation-flying satellites containing white noise were generated, and geopotential coefficients were recovered from these simulated data sets using the crude acceleration approach. The accuracy of the recovered coefficients was quantitatively compared between data sets encompassing different ranging precisions. From this analysis, a rough prediction of the accuracy of geopotential coefficients could be obtained from the hypothetical mission. For a given POD precision, a ranging measurement precision that matches the POD precision was determined. Since the purpose of adopting inter-satellite ranging in a gravimetry mission is to overcome the imprecision of determining orbits, ranging measurements should be more precise than POD. For that reason, it can be concluded that this critical ranging precision matching the POD precision can serve as the minimum precision requirement for an on-board ranging device. Although the result obtained herein is about a very particular case, this methodology can also be applied in cases where different parameters are used.

  • KAFASAT is a CubeSat which has a high level mission of testing the possibility of establishing the LEO satellite constellation providing the role of communication nodes and quasi-realtime image recognition of battlefield in accordance with the aspect of future-war-environment. The high level mission is developed using the Pugh selection method, which is one of system engineering tools. In order to accomplish the high level mission objectives and deduce engineering level requirements, system engineering tools such as Analytic Hierarchy Process and Quality Function Deployment are used. The subsystem synthesis in the context of system engineering process is done using a developed integrated design environment. The paper also includes the conceptual design results of the KAFASAT, which can be used as a baseline for upcoming preliminary design.

  • Plume flow-fields of aircraft nozzles are numerically investigated at various flight conditions for infrared signature analysis. A mission profile of subsonic unmanned combat aerial vehicle is considered for the requirement of each mission, associated engine and nozzles are selected through a performance analysis. Numerical results of nozzle plume flow-fields using a CFD code are analyzed in terms of thrust, maximum temperature. It is shown that maximum temperature increase for lower altitude and higher Mach number.

  • Star tracker placement configuration is proposed and the properness of the placement configuration is verified for star tracker's sun avoidance angle requirement. Precision attitude determination system is successfully designed using a gyro-star tracker inertial reference system for a candidate LEO spacecraft. Elaborate kalman filter formulation for a spacecraft is proposed for covariance analysis. The covariance analysis is performed to verify the capability of the proposed attitude determination system. The analysis results show that the attitude determination error and drift rate error are good enough to satisfy the mission of a candidate spacecraft.

ISR 임무를 위한 SAR 위성의 군집궤도 배치형상 설계 (Design of SAR Satellite Constellation Configuration for ISR Mission)

  • ISR(Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) 임무를 위한 관측위성의 경우 임무운용개념이 요구되는 동시에 특정 관심영역을 주기적으로 탐지 가능한지에 대한 임무 효용성 분석이 필요하다. 이를 위해서는 군집궤도 형상에 대한 최적설계가 수행되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 위성군집 형성방법으로 Walker-Delta 방식을 적용하여 특정 관심영역을 탐지하기 위한 군집형상에 대한 분석을 수행하였다. 임무수행의 효용성을 평가하기 위해 재방문주기 성능을 핵심 요구조건으로 선정하였다. 본 연구에서는 4기 SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) 위성군집을 적용한 임무분석 과정을 보여주고, 요구조건을 만족시키는 궤도배치 형상결과를 제시하였다. 군집궤도의 성능지수 분석은 개발된 분석 알고리즘을 기반으로 수행하였으며, ISR 임무를 위한 군집궤도 형상은 한 궤도면에 한 기의 위성이 배치되는 4개 궤도면의 형상이 적합한 것으로 분석되었다.
