This paper describes a novel internal clock generator, called duty cycle-corrected analog synchronous mirror delay (DCC-ASMD). The proposed circuit is well suited for dual edge-triggered systems such as double data-rate synchronous DRAM since it can achieve clock synchronization within two clock cycles with accurate duty cycle correction. To evaluate the performance of the proposed circuit, DCC-ASMD was designed using a $0.35\mu$m CMOS process technology. Simulation results show that the proposed circuit generates an internal clock having $50\%$ duty ratio within two clock cycles from the external clock having duty ratio range of $40\;\~\;60$.

A micromirror for a laser display system actuated by the electromagnetic force induced by the surface coil and the permanent magnet was designed and analyzed through the coupled physics analyses incorporating the electromagnetics, mechanics, and electrothermal analysis because the mechanical rotation of the micromirror is driven by the electromagnetic driving force. The proposed micromirror has two torsion beams to sustain the mirror plate which has surface coils on the top and the two permanent magnets exists on both sides of the micromirror for an external magnetic field source. The designed micromirror has the resonant frequency of 3.82kHz. When the magnetic field of the permanent magnet is 0.4T, the coil has 4 turns, and the current density of coil is 3.6A/$mm^2$, the estimated z axis displacement of the mirror plate edge is 0.23mm which corresponds to the rotation angle of $14.2^{\circ}$. When considering the joule heating in the current-carrying coil, the maximum temperature of the mirror plate is obtained as 300.045K, which induces the negligible changes in the rotation angle and the resistance of the coil.
Linear Astigmatism Free - Three Mirror System (LAF-TMS) is the linear astigmatism free off-axis wide field telescope with D = 150 mm, F/3.3, and $FOV=5.51^{\circ}{\times}4.13^{\circ}$. We report the design and analysis results of its mirrors and optomechanical structures. Tolerance allowance has been analyzed to the minimum mechanical tolerance of ${\pm}0.05mm$ that is reasonable tolerance for fabrication and optical alignment. The aluminum mirrors are designed with mounting flexure features for the strain-free mounting. From Finite Element Analysis (FEA) results of mounting torque and self-weight, we expect 33 - 80 nm RMS mirror surface deformations. Shims and the L-bracket are mounted between mirrors and the mirror mount for optical alignment. The mirror mount is designed with four light-weighted mechanical parts. It can stably and accurately fix mirrors, and it also suppresses some of stray light.
The purpose of the current study was to investigate the effect of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in conjunction with mirror therapy on the balance function of patients with sub-acute stroke hemiparesis. This study was conducted with 36 subjects who were diagnosed with a hemiparesis due to stroke. Participants in the experimental (19 members) and control groups (17 members) received rTMS and sham rTMS during 10 minute sessions each, which were carried out five days per week for four weeks. This was followed by the mirror therapy over 30 minute sessions, which were carried out five days per week for four weeks. Motor recovery was assessed by balance index, dynamic limits of stability, Berg balance scale, and time up go test. The change values of the balance index ($-2.06{\pm}1.99$ versus $-0.41{\pm}1.11$), dynamic limits of stability ($3.68{\pm}2.71$ versus $1.17{\pm}2.38$), and time up go test ($-7.05{\pm}5.64$ score versus $-3.35{\pm}5.30$ score) were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (p < 0.05). At post-test, balance index ($4.08{\pm}1.14$ versus $5.09{\pm}1.04$), dynamic limits of stability ($13.75{\pm}0.60$ versus $11.73{\pm}3.53$), and time up go test ($23.89{\pm}4.51$ versus $28.82{\pm}3.07$) were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (p < 0.05). In the experimental group, significant differences were found in the pre- and post-test scores for the balance index, dynamic limits of stability, Berg balance scale, and time up go test (p < 0.01). In the control group, a significant difference was observed between the pre- and post-test only for the Berg balance scale and time up go test (p < 0.05). These findings demonstrate that the application of 1Hz rTMS in conjunction with mirror therapy can be helpful in improving the balance function of patients with sub-acute stroke hemiparesis, and this may be used as a practical adjunct to routine rehabilitation therapy.

A two-stage erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) with a band pass filter is used to get optical pulses of high peak value. The pulse signal has a 32 ㏈ extinction ratio, 125 W peak power and 79 ㎽ pulse off power. A nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) is used to lower the pulse off power so as to increase the extinction ratio. The pulse signal after the NOLM has a 50.4 ㏈ extinction ratio, 35 W peak power and 0.3 ㎽ pulse off power.
Ultra-low loss ZERODUR and fused silica mirrors were manufactured and their light scattering characteristics were investigated. For this purpose, ZERODUR and fused silica substrates were super-polished by the bowl feed method. The surface roughness were 0.292 ${\AA}$ and 0.326 ${\AA}$ in rms for ZERODUR and fused silica, respectively. To obtain the high reflectivity, 22 thin film layers of $SiO_2$ and $Ta_2O_5$ were deposited by Ion Beam Sputtering. The measured light scattering of ZERODUR and fused silica mirror were 30.9 ppm and 4.6 ppm, respectively. This shows that the substrate surface roughness is not the only parameter which determines the light scattering of the mirror. In order to investigate the mechanism for additional light scattering of the ZERODUR mirror, the surface roughness of the mirror was measured by AFM and was found to be 2.3 times higher than that of the fused silica mirror. It is believed that there is some mismatch at the interface between the substrate and the first thin film layer which leads to the increased mirror surface roughness. To clarify this, the contact angle measurements were performed by SEO 300A, based on the Giriflaco-Good-Fowkes-Young method. The fused silica substrates with 0.46 ${\AA}$ in its physical surface roughness shows lower contact angle than that of the ZERODUR substrate with 0.31 ${\AA}$. This indicates that the thin film surface roughness is determined by not only its surface roughness but also the surface energy of the substrate, which depends on the chemical composition or crystalline orientation of the materials. The surface energy of each substrate was calculated from a contact angle measurement, and it shows that the higher the surface energy of the substrate, the better the surface roughness of the thin film.

This paper describes a novel method to surface large optics mirror with an extremely high hardness, which could replace the high cost of the repetitive off-line measurement steps and the large ultra-precision grinding machine with ultra-positioning control of 10 nm resolution. A lot of diamond pellet to be attached on the convex aluminum base consists of a grinding tool for the concave large mirror, and the tool was pressured down on the large mirror blank. The tool motion at an interval on the spiral path was controlled with each feed rate as the dwell time in the conventional computer-controlled polishing. The shape to be surfaced was measured directly by a touch probe on the machine without any separation of the mirror blank. Total 40 iterative steps of the surfacing and measurement could demonstrate the form error of RMS $7.8{\mu}m$, surface roughness of Ra $0.2{\mu}m$ for the mirror blank with diameter of 1 m and spherical radius of curvature of 5400 mm.
Not only the magnitude of the mirror surface error, the pattern matters as it produces certain aberrations. In particular, the surface error of the freeform mirrors, which are optimized to eliminate specific aberrations, might show much higher sensitivity in optical performance. Therefore, we analyze the mirror surface error with Zernike polynomials with the goal of generating a realistic error surface. We investigate the surface error of the freeform mirror fabricated by diamond turning machine to analyze the realistic tendency of the error. The surface error with 0.22 ㎛ root-mean-square value is fitted to the Zernike terms using the incremental fitting method, which increases the number of the fitting coefficients through steps. Furthermore, optical performance via surface error pattern based on Zernike terms is studied to see the influences of each term. With this study, realistic error surface generation may allow higher accuracy not only for the feasibility test but also for all tests and predictions using optical simulations.
A third-order sigma-delta modulator with the architecture of cascade of integrator feedback (CIFB) is proposed for an analog-digital converter used in low-power sensor interfaces. It consists of three switched-capacitor integrators using a gain-enhanced current-mirror-based amplifier, a single-bit comparator, and a non-overlapped clock generator. The proposed sigma-delta analog modulator with over-sampling ratio of 160 and maximum SNR of 90.45 dB is implemented using $0.11-{\mu}m$ CMOS process with 1.2-V supply voltage. The area and power consumption of the sigma-delta analog modulator are $0.145mm^2$ and $341{\mu}W$, respectively.

Optical disk drives read information by replacing a laser beam on the disk track. As information has become larger, the more accurate position control of a laser beam is necessary. In this paper, we report the analysis and fabrication of the micro mirror for optical disk drivers. The mirror was fabricated by using MEMS technology. Especially, the Process using the lapping and polishing step after the bonding of the mirror and electrode plates was employed for the process reliability. The mirror size was $2.5mm{\times}3mm$ and it needed about 35V for displacement of $3.2{\mu}m$.
