군용차량 개발시 고려요소 우선순위 설정 연구 (Priority Decision based on Users' Requirements for the Development of Military Vehicles)

  • The military vehicles are necessary to perform various war battle missions but in reality they are not as convenient as the civil vehicles. Thus, it is problematic regarding the satisfaction about convenience, operation, and performances of military vehicles. Since most of military vehicles used in Korea were made by bench-marking the models of United States developed in the latter half of 1970's. It is question whether the current military vehicles can provide the functions and expected performance fully or not if we do not study what the user friendly military vehicles are. This article report soldiers' user satisfaction survey on military vehicles and provide arguments on the priority decision based on users' requirements. Future direction for the development of military vehicles is discussed.

  • The military vehicles are an inevitable resource that is indispensible to successfully perform modern wars. Military vehicles used in the Korean Army are the copycats of American out-dated military vehicles, but limited to fulfill the specific requirements by the operators. Korean army are nowadays trying to launch a new developmental plan for military vehicles of new concepts by the Korean Army. This article, hence, extracts the necessary factors upon the advancement of military vehicles by the expertises with the operation of military vehicles as well as sufficient experiences about maintenance. Suggesting and setting up the priority, the result makes practical application for the decision of the development of military vehicles.

  • There are many type vehicles in army. They are jeep and truck by basic type. Recently many countries are developing new conceptual military vehicles. And they try for export of those military vehicles to another countries. Also Korea Army is developing military tactical and combat vehicles, and considering various necessary factors for export. But as easing the cold war system tension and reducing of defense budget, decrease in quantity of military vehicles. We think this trend is accelerative. Therefore Government(Military) and defense industry make every effort to increasing sales and productions. In this study, I'll inquire '2013~2017 basic plan for defense industry promotion' for strengthen the power of international competitiveness, and then suggest the increasing method for productions of military vehicles.

  • 최근 군에서는 새로운 개념의 한국군 독자적 군용차량 개발을 추진하고 있다. 이에 따라 향후 군용차량 개발 시 운용자에 의한 추가 요구사항 및 개발 관련 문제발생시 체계적이며 효율적인 개발관리를 위해 고려요소의 도출이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 군용차량 개발시 고려요소를 도출하기 위해 관리자 운용자 제작자 학계 및 연구자 등 4개 전문가 집단을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 의견을 수렴하였다. 설문결과 군용차량 개발시 고려요소는 총 22개를 도출하였으며, 이 요소들은 향후 군용차량 개발 간 의사결정시 유용하게 활용될 것이다.

  • 무인전투차량은 군사과학기술의 영역에서 전투전력 핵심수단으로서 활용성이 인정되며, 인명손실의 최소화, 국방력 상승을 기대할 수 있다. 무인전투차량을 통한 무인전투체계 구축은 유기적으로 결합된 단위 시스템을 기반으로 조합된 복합운용개념에 해당하며, 전투력을 중장기적으로 확보하기 위한 하나의 수단으로서 국방획득 체계수립, 무인체계기술연구 등 다양한 영역으로 그 적합성을 부여할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

철도 객차별 군 인원 탑승능력 판단 연구 (A Study on Riding Capacity of Railway Vehicles for Military Passengers)

  • This paper aims to establish a guideline for ridership capacity of different rail vehicles for military passengers. Previous guideline is limited only to a Mungungwha(hauled by diesel locomotive) vehicle, but this paper expands the limitation to ITX- Saemaeul and urban rail vehicles classified to Electric Motivated Unit(EMU). The guideline considers both with and without personal armor conditions, and based on repetitive ridership experiments. The experiments are designed under considerations of the required number of soldiers for the sample spaces of the different rail vehicles. Moreover, the design tries to establish a concept of optimal capacity additionally to a traditional limiting ridership capacity. In order to do this, ridership comfort is questioned to participant soldiers repetitively over the experiments and all answers of them are surveyed as a results of it. The results of the experiments presented by this paper can be referenced to establish a new guideline on ridership capacity for Korean army.

  • Recently, military vehicles that are being driven are equipped with a lot of electronic devices. The military vehicles are easily exposed to impact. Thus, they have to be designed robustly to ensure that the stability of the vehicle and the electronic equipment. In order to design the vehicles efficiently, the dynamic characteristics of a military vehicle have to be identified exactly. The main frame has a significant role to the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle. Thus, this research was progressed mainly with the frame. By carrying out road tests, the characteristics could be identified. Also, based on the characteristics, we constructed FE model of the frame and performed the analysis of the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle.

  • Recently, military vehicles are driven with a lot of electronic devices such as radar, antenna, and information storage devices. However, the military vehicles can be exposed to impact easily. Therefore, they have to be designed robustly in order to ensure the stability of the vehicle and the electronic devices. To achieve that, the dynamic behaviors of the military vehicle should be exactly identified. Therefore, in this research, dynamic behaviors of the vehicles were identified by carrying out road tests and we constructed finite element model to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle.

  • Platform standardization is widely used in commercial auto industries and other industries to acquire cost reduction as well as high reliability. This paper reviews some application examples and estimates expected effect of Korean army's platform standardization for combat system and combat support system. Also, military platform standardization based on utilization of commercial vehicles has been studied with the standard vehicles used in Korean army. It is estimated that outstanding results may be achieved if a dual platform, the public and military platforms, is utilized. So, when the strategy of the military transportation system is decided, "dual use" concept is necessary and this could maximize the effect of the military strategy reinforcement.

군용 소형 회전익무인기 감항인증기준에 대한 연구 (A Study on Airworthiness Certification Standards for Military Small Rotary-Wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)

  • In modern society, the use of small rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicles such as drones is increasing. As the military considers tactics using drones, demand for drones is increasing. However, there is still no airworthiness certification standard for drones for safety. In this paper, we proposed airworthiness certification standards for small rotorcraft unmanned aerial vehicles based on CS-LURS in Europe and STANG-4703, 4738 (draft) of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. In addition, airworthiness certification standards have been strengthened through the case of unmanned aerial vehicle accidents in operation by the Korean military. The airworthiness certification standards for small rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicles will be supplemented through a demonstration project.
