  • This paper is concerned about the development system that the bead width's size can be controlled. In order to control the bead width, DC motor driving slide on auto carriage is used. The adjustment of bead width is carried by amplitude and weaving shape is controlled by MCU(Micro Controller Unit). We confirmed the result by tracking experiments.

  • We have proposed and fabricated a Buck-Boost DC to DC Converter for Thermoelectric generator (TEG) with constant output voltage suitable for battery chargers or constant voltage supplies in the range of several watt. The experimental and simulation results have shown that the proposed method allows stable operation with maximum 86% power transfer efficiency. The proposed circuit has a merit in cost and miniaturization of a system compared to conventional MPPT algorithms, because the proposed method adopts only analog circuit without DSP or micro controller unit for calculating peak power point by iterative methods.

  • 자전거 이용자 급증으로 자전거의 도난 및 분실을 방지하여 사용자를 안심시켜주고 주행 중 위험요소를 줄이고자 하는 목소리가 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 애플리케이션 개발을 위해 MCU(Micro Controller Unit)인 Arduino Mega 2560 기반에 블루투스(Bluetooth) 통신 방식을 사용하여 자전거 잠금장치, 위치 추적 장치를 조작하고 후방 감지 장치를 제어하였으며 초음파 거리센서 값을 이용하여 LED Strip 및 진동 모터로 사용자에게 주행 상태를 알리는 장치를 구현하였다.

  • In this paper, We studied LED(Light Emitted Diode) sensor lights system using PIR(Pyroelectric Infrared Ray) sensor, CdS and MCU(Micro Controller Unit). And applied the valley fill circuit to improve the power factor. We designed the amplifier for each sensor and the LED driver for constant current which is the buck converter. Also, we proposed the algorithm of LED control by each sensors using MCU. Experimental results showed that power factor is 92% with valley fill circuit.

  • In this paper, we design a small low power single channel ECG(Electrocardiogram) system of Chest Belt type with fiber-type electrodes to measure emotional state change of game addict. HRV(Heart Rate Variability) is analyzed through heart rate signal measurement and the psychological stress state is judged by using it. And it verifies its effectiveness through prototype. First, we design HR measurement module through low power MCU(Micro Controller Unit) and implement prototype level measurement system. The results showed that the difference between the addiction group and the general group was confirmed and that the system was effective. The result of this study can be used for health management such as reduction of stress of the user through music and breathing that lowers the stress by detecting the stress state of the general person or the chronic ill person.

  • 본 논문은 인터리브드 준공진 플라이백 컨버터에 추가회로 없이 적용된 최적의 밸리 스위칭 기법을 제안한다. 인터리브드 준공진 플라이백 컨버터는 스위치 양단 전압(Drain-Source voltage)$V_{DS}$이 최소화 되는 지점에서 스위치 턴 온이 되어 전체 시스템의 효율이 향상되고, EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference)와 EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility)의 영향을 최소화시킬 수 있다. 제안한 기법은 MCU (Micro Controller Unit) 기반 소용량 컨버터에 간단한 수식을 이용하여 최적의 밸리 스위칭 기법을 가능하게 한다. 제안한 기법은 시스템의 가격과 부피 상승 없이 효율을 향상시키고, EMI와 EMC의 영향을 최소화시킨다. 제안하는 기법의 성능은 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, the control technique of the stepping motor using back electromotive force(B-EMF) without encoder is investigated. The stepping motor generally uses the rotary encoder to detect the rotor position. Since this method increases the cost and the motor configuration size, the new closed-loop control method applied for the B-EMF was implemented by using current detect circuit, AD-converter, and micro controller unit(MCU). The control loop of stepping motor became very simplified. The current change of stepping motor measured by the amplifier was measured and analyzed, when the missing step is occurred. Based on the data from current feedback, position errors were compensated and confirmed by using AD-converter.

  • 이 논문은 현대의 불규칙한 기후 환경에 주요한 영향을 미치는 탄소 배출을 감소시키기 위한 현실적인 방안을제공하고자 한다. 우산 대여시스템은 일회용 우산구매 시 사용 절제를 장려할 수 있는 시스템으로, 사용 시 지속해서 탄소 배출을 감소시킬 수 있다. 사용자는 자신이 위치한 곳에 가까운 대여소를 애플리케이션으로 선택 후 대여가 가능하며 대여한 곳과 다른 대여소에도 반납할 수 있다. 지난 몇 년간 시행됐던 아날로그식에 단점인 회수율을 시민의식이라는 신념에만 의존하지 않고 NFC 보안과 Node MCU 통신 탑재를 통해 효율적으로 다양한 상업이나 공공기관에서 확장될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Development of Chip-based Precision Motion Controller

  • The Motion controllers provide the sophisticated performance and enhanced capabilities we can see in the movements of robotic systems. Several types of motion controllers are available, some based on the kind of overall control system in use. PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)-based motion controllers still predominate. The many peoples use MCU (Micro Controller Unit)-based board level motion controllers and will continue to in the near-term future. These motion controllers control a variety motor system like robotic systems. Generally, They consist of large and complex circuits. PLC-based motion controller consists of high performance PLC, development tool, and application specific software. It can be cause to generate several problems that are large size and space, much cabling, and additional high coasts. MCU-based motion controller consists of memories like ROM and RAM, I/O interface ports, and decoder in order to operate MCU. Additionally, it needs DPRAM to communicate with host PC, counter to get position information of motor by using encoder signal, additional circuits to control servo, and application specific software to generate a various velocity profiles. It can be causes to generate several problems that are overall system complexity, large size and space, much cabling, large power consumption and additional high costs. Also, it needs much times to calculate velocity profile because of generating by software method and don't generate various velocity profiles like arbitrary velocity profile. Therefore, It is hard to generate expected various velocity profiles. And further, to embed real-time OS (Operating System) is considered for more reliable motion control. In this paper, the structure of chip-based precision motion controller is proposed to solve above-mentioned problems of control systems. This proposed motion controller is designed with a FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) by using the VHDL (Very high speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language) and Handel-C that is program language for deign hardware. This motion controller consists of Velocity Profile Generator (VPG) part to generate expected various velocity profiles, PCI Interface part to communicate with host PC, Feedback Counter part to get position information by using encoder signal, Clock Generator to generate expected various clock signal, Controller part to control position of motor with generated velocity profile and position information, and Data Converter part to convert and transmit compatible data to D/A converter.
