고전압 임펄스를 활용한 발전용수 칼슘농도 저감에 관한 연구 (A Study on Calcium Ion Reduction in Power Plant Water using High Voltage Impulse)

  • As an alternate technique for water softening, high voltage impulse (HVI) is introduced and verified if it can control the $CaCO_3$ scale formation in industrial water treatment. After HVI was applied to the artificial hard water containing $100{\pm}5mg/L$ $Ca^{2+}$ for 4 hours, the $Ca^{2+}$ concentration and the electrical conductivity were measured. The concentration of $Ca^{2+}$ was reduced from 94.5 to 86.3 mg/L (8.7% reduction) after 4 hour contact of HVI under 5 kV condition. The $Ca^{2+}$ was decreased from 92 to 77.7 mg/L (15.6% reduction) at 8kV and from 90.1 to 75.4 mg/L (16.3% reduction) at 12 kV condition. Both of the contact time and the applied voltage were important parameters affecting the calcium ion reduction. With these results, it was verified that HVI technique could be potential candidate for control of $CaCO_3$ scale formation.

냉간압연가공에 따른 Al-5.5Mg-2.9Si계와 Al-7Mg-0.9Zn계 합금의 압연가공성 및 기계적 특성 차이 (Differences in Cold Rolling Workability and Mechanical Properties between Al-Mg-Si and Al-Mg-Zn System Alloys with Cold Rolling)

  • The cold rolling workability and mechanical properties of two new alloys, designed and cast Al-5.5Mg-2.9Si and Al-7Mg-0.9Zn alloys, were investigated in detail. The two alloy sheets of 4 mm thickness, 30 mm width and 100 mm length were reduced to a thickness of 1 mm by multi-pass rolling at ambient temperature. The rolling workability was better for the Al-7Mg-0.9Zn alloy than for the Al-5.5Mg-2.9Si alloy; in case of the former alloy, edge cracks began to occur at 50% rolling reduction, and their number and length increased with rolling reduction; however, in the latter alloy, the sheets did not have any cracks even at higher rolling reduction. The mechanical properties of tensile strength and elongation were also better in the Al-7Mg-0.9Zn alloy than in Al-5.5Mg-2.9Si alloy. Work hardening ability after cold rolling was also higher in the Al-7Mg-0.9Zn alloy than in the Al-5.5Mg-2.9Si alloy. At the same time, the texture development was very similar for both alloys; typical rolling texture developed in both alloys. These differences in the two alloys can primarily be explained by the existence of precipitates of $Mg_2Si$. It is concluded that the Al-7Mg-0.9Zn alloy is better than the Al-5.5Mg-2.9Si alloy in terms of mechanical properties.

Rhodococcus sp. CP01에 의한 페놀과 6가 크롬이온의 동시 제거 (Simultaneous Removal of Phenol and Hexavalent Chromium by Rhodococcus sp. CP01)

  • 페놀을 유일한 탄소 및 에너지원으로 이용할 수 있는 Rhodococcus sp. CP01을 침출수로부터 분리하고 회분식 및 연속배양 체제에서 크롬(VI)을 동시에 환원시키는 능력을 추정하였다. 크롬(VI) 환원의 최적 pH 7.0과 페놀 농도 1,000 mg/L에서 최소배지에 주어진 0.25 mM의 크롬(VI)은 CP01 균주에 의해 60시간만에 완전히 환원되었으며, 이때 크롬의 환원속도는 4.17 $\mu$M/hr, 페놀의 분해속도는 38.4 mg.$L^{-1}$.$hr^{-1}$로 측정되었다. 수리학적 체류시간을 100hr으로 유지한 호기성 연속배양 체제에서 크롬(VI)의 농도를 0.0625, 0.125, 그리고 0.25 mM로, 페놀 농도를 1,000~4,000 mg/L까지 변화시키면서 46인간 운전한 결과, 크롬(VI) 0.125 mM과 페놀 3,000 mg/L일 때 유사 steady state에 이르렀으며 이때 크롬의 환원율은 거의 100%로 일정하게 유지되었다. 이 구간에서 계산된 specific reduction rate는 0.34 mg Cr(VI).g $protein^{-1}$.$hr^{-1}$로서 glucose를 생장기질로 이용한 기존의 연구 결과와 유사한 수준으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로부터 본 연구는 중금속 크롬(VI)과 방향족 화합물인 페놀을 동시에 효과적으로 제거할 수 있는 생물학적 처리 가능성을 보여 주었다.

재순환 충전탑식 반응기를 이용한 효율적 탈질 (Recycled packed-bed reactor for efficient denitrification)

  • 본 논문에서는 회분식 반응기에서 초기 산화환원전위가 +40 mV에서 -70 mV으로 낮아짐에 따라 탈질 속도는 1.25 mg/min에서 3.33 mg/min으로 증가하였고, 또한 회분식 반응기에서 질산성질소의 농도가 200 mg/1까지 증가할수록 nitrite의 축적없이 탈질 속도가 초기 농도에 비례적으로 증가하였다. 반면, 질산성질소의 농도가 400 mg/1가 되면 탈질 속도의 변화는 없으나 nitrite의 축적이 발생하기 시작하였으며, 질산성질소의 농도가 1,000 mg/l로 증가할 경우에는 많은 양의 nitrite가 축적이 되어 탈질의 저해가 발생하여 탈질 속도가 감소하였다. 회분식 반응기의 결과를 바탕으로, 충전탑식 반응기에서 유입수의 초기 산화환원전위를 낮추기 위하여 유출수를 재순환시킨 결과, 유입수의 초기 산화화원전위를 150 mV에서 30 mV로 낮출 수 있었고, 유입수의 초기 질산성질소의 농도를 120 mg/l에서 85 mg/l까지 낮출 수 있었다. 그 결과 충전탑식 반응기에서 유출되는 질산성질소의 농도가 재순환을 하기 전에는 약 61 mg/l이었으나, 유출수의 재순환으로 질산성질소의 농도를 10 mg/l까지 낮출 수 있었고, 질산 성질소의 제거율을 49.2%에서 91.7%로 증가시킬 수 있었다.

항염 및 해열효과에 미치는 Ibuprofen과 Prednisolone의 약 상호 작용 (Drug Interactions of Ibuprofen and Prednisolone in Antiinflammatory and Antipyretic Effects)

  • The authors investigated drug interaction of ibuprofen and prednisolone in antiinflammatory and antipyretic activities. We have found significant differences of the antiinflammatory and antipyretic activities between single and concurrent administration of ibuprofen and prednisolone, using Sprague-Dawley Strain rats, carrageenin as a phlogistic agent and brewer's yeast as a fever inducing agent. 1) Ibuprofen(20mg/kg) was administered to the rats orally and resulted in significant reduction of (31.70 %) the swelling of rat paw induced by carrageenin, 2) prednisolone (9mg/kg) showed significant reduction of (45.76%) the swelling, 3) concurrent administration of ibuprofen (20mg/kg) and prednisolone (9mg/kg) also reduced (57.40%) the swelling. In ibuprofen (125mg/kg) administration, the inhibition rate of edema was 39.32% and in prednisolone (1mg/kg) administration, the rate was 39.04%. In concurrent administration of ibuprofen (125mg/kg) and prednisolone (1mg/kg), the inhibition rate of edema was 63.09%. Concurrent administration of ibuprofen and prednisolone showed more anti-inflammatory effects than single administration of ibuprofen and prednisolone respectively. Prednisolone itself did not show antipyretic effect, but concurrent administration of ibuprofen and prednisolone showed more antipyretic effects than ibuprofen single administratron.

금속환원법에 의한 바나듐 분말 추출 (Extraction of Vanadium Powder by Metallothermic Reduction)

  • The extraction of metallic pure vanadium powder from raw oxide has been tried by Mg-reduction. In first stage, $V_2O_5$ powders as initial raw material was reduced by hydrogen gas into $V_2O_3$ phase. $V_2O_3$ powder was reduced in next stage by magnesium gas at 1,073K for 24 hours. After reduction reaction, the MgO component mixed with reduced vanadium powder were dissolved and removed fully in 10% HCl solution for 5 hours at room temperature. The oxygen content and particle size of finally produced vanadium powders were 0.84 wt% and 1 ${\mu}m$, respectively

Effects of Electrochemical Reduction Reactions on the Biodegradation of Recalcitrant Organic Compounds (ROCs) and Bacterial Community Diversity

  • Five bacterial species, capable of degrading the recalcitrant organic compounds (ROCs) diethyleneglycol monomethylether (DGMME), 1-amino-2-propanol (APOL), 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP), diethyleneglycol monoethylether (DGMEE), tetraethyleneglycol (TEG), and tetrahydrothiophene 1,1-dioxide (sulfolane), were isolated from an enrichment culture. Cupriavidus sp. catabolized $93.5{\pm}1.7$ mg/l of TEG, $99.3{\pm}1.2$ mg/l of DGMME, $96.1{\pm}1.6$ mg/l of APOL, and $99.5{\pm}0.5$ mg/l of NMP in 3 days. Acineobacter sp. catabolized 100 mg/l of DGMME, $99.9{\pm}0.1$ mg/l of NMP, and 100 mg/l of DGMEE in 3 days. Pseudomonas sp.3 catabolized $95.7{\pm}1.2$ mg/l of APOL and $99.8{\pm}0.3$ mg/l of NMP. Paracoccus sp. catabolized $98.3{\pm}0.6$ mg/l of DGMME and $98.3{\pm}1.0$ mg/l of DGMEE in 3 days. A maximum $43{\pm}2.0$ mg/l of sulfolane was catabolized by Paracoccus sp. in 3 days. When a mixed culture composed of the five bacterial species was applied to real wastewater containing DGMME, APOL, NMP, DGMEE, or TEG, 92~99% of each individual ROC was catabolized within 3 days. However, at least 9 days were required for the complete mineralization of sulfolane. Bacterial community diversity, analyzed on the basis of the TGGE pattern of 16S rDNA extracted from viable cells, was found to be significantly reduced in a conventional bioreactor after 6 days of incubation. However, biodiversity was maintained after 12 days of incubation in an electrochemical bioreactor. In conclusion, the electrochemical reduction reaction enhanced the diversity of the bacterial community and actively catabolized sulfolane.

임신중 폭로된 염화메틸수은이 흰쥐태자의 골격형성에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (Methylmercuric Chloride(MMC) and Reduction of the Fetal Ossification in Fischer-344 Rats during Organogensis)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the adverse effects of methylmercuric chloride(MMC) against the fetal growth and the ossification rate of fetal pectoral and pelvic girdle, stermebrae, ribs and tail in pregnant Fischer 344 rats administered orally on day 7 of gestation. The resulted obtained are as follows. The weight and size of fetus were highly reduced by MMC. The reduction of fetal weight and size were 16. 2%~24.5%(p<0.01), and 34.1%~48.8%(p<0.01), and that of the litter’s weight were 67.0%(p<0.01) and 89.2%(p<0.01) by 20 and 30mg/kg MMC, respectively. Ossification centers were never formed in pectoral and pelvic phalanges and sternebrae, and was reduced as much as 70% in tail by 30mg/kg MMC. And also those were 82.4%~ 91.2%(p<0.01) in ischium, and 52.4~66.7%(p<0.01) in the others(ilium, fenur, tibia, fibula, metatarsals)of pelvic girdle by 30 mg/kg MMC. Ossification of sternebrae was terrible. 5th bone of sternebrae was not ossificated by 20 and 30 mg/kg MMC(p<0.01), and 2nd was also not ossificated by 30 mg/kg MMC(p<0.01).And reduction of ossification rate was 84.8~97.8%(p<0.01) in the others of sternebrae by 30 mg/kg MMC. And then, the reduction of ossification rate was 26.65~49.8%(p<0.01) in fetal ribs by 30 mg/kg MMC, and they were trend to increased as following from center to each edge. In conclusion, it was observed that fetal weight, size, and ossification of each bone were highly significantly reduced by the increased dosage of MMC.

플라즈마 단백질의 고스트 적혈구 흡착 특성 (Adsorptive Binding of Plasma Proteins to Red Blood Cell Ghosts)

  • IgG와 알부민이 고스트 적혈구의 분산하에서 적 혈구의 세포막에 흡착되었다. 용액중 IgG의 농도가 0 O.1mg/mL일 때, 고스트 적혈구의 부피비가 5% 에 서 45%로 증가함에 따라 흡착으로 인한 용액중의 IgG의 농도감소는 14%에서 45%로 증가하였고, h hardened 고스트 척혈구 분산시가 고스트 적혈구 분산시보다 더 많은 단백질이 흡착되었다. 용액중 알부민의 농도가 0.075mg/mL일 때, 고스트 적헐구 의 부피가 5%에셔 70%로 증가함에 따라 용액중의 얄부민의 농도감소는 12% 에서 47%로 증가하였다. 흡착시간에 대한 IgG의 농도변화를 측정한 결과 단 백질의 흡착은 빠른 속도로 일어남을 알 수 있었고, 적혈구당 흡착된 단백질 분자수를 계산한 결과 용액 내 적혈구의 수가 증가할수록 적혈구당 흡착된 분자 수는 감소하였다.

Mg의 미세조직과 발화저항성에 대한 CaO 및 Ca의 영향 (Effects of CaO and Ca additions on Microstructure and Ignition Resistance of Pure Mg)

  • In this study, effects of CaD and Ca addtions on microstructure and ignition resistance of pure Mg were investigated. With increasing Ca and CaO contents, the grains in Ca and CaO added Mg were refined and ignition temperatures of CaO and Ca added Mg increased, too. As a result of phase analysis, CaO seemed to be reduced to Ca. $Mg_2Ca$ phase was formed even in 0.1 wt%CaO added pure Mg by reduction mechanism, while $Mg_2Ca$ phase was formed in over 1.35 wt% Ca added pure Mg. Thermodynamical consideration for the reduction mechanism of CaO in pure Mg was carried out.
