  • This study is mainly focus on the satisfaction degree of programs which were been held in city park. The case study of this study is Tokyo metropolitan city park which planed programs and have managed them for approximately 20 years. For the purpose, this study used the questionnaire about the satisfaction degree of programs in 2 Tokyo metropolitan city parks which are held nature observation programs, after analysis of programs of city parks. This study used analysis method of cross-tab, factor analysis and multi-regression. The result are as follows: 1. As the result of factor analysis, 6 factors which are determined the satisfaction degree of programs are found. Also as the regression result between satisfaction degree and 6 factor, the satisfaction degree is positively affected by first factor which is identified program contents and forth factor which is identified marketing part of program. 2. On the organization of managing program, the sponsorship privately-managed citizen group is more favorable than the sponsorship by volunteer. 3. In the participant attribute, participants who are older than 50 showed high distribution, and there is no difference between sex.

  • This study examines the emerging global city-regions theory and suggests its implications for regional development policy in Korea. Global city-regions defined as an economic and political organization of metropolitan regions or a new scale of urban organization with polycentric structure, is appreciated as a new regionalist model of development in the globalization era. In Korea, the application of global city-regions model is required particularly for strengthening the international competitiveness of metropolitan areas except the capital region including Seoul, and resolving inequalities between the capital region and non-capital regions. However, Institutional revolution including consolidation of Shi(metropolitan area) and Do(province), and devolution should be preceded above all things to develop metropolitan cities such as Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, and Daejeon toward global city-regions.

  • In this study we investigated pesticide residues on herbs and spices disrtibuted in the Incheon Metropolitan area. A total of 112 samples were purchased from off-line and on-line markets from January to October 2020. In accordance with the implementation of the Positive List System (PLS), the proper usage of pesticides is now being enforced. It is assumed that unregistered pesticides are being used on herbs and spices due to the low number of registered pesticides in the agricultural industry. Pesticide residue levels were not detected in 99 samples but 11 kinds of pesticides in 6 samples (13 times) exceeded the MRLs. The pesticides that were used in accordance with the PLS were Diazinon, Diethofencarb and Pyridalyl. However, unregistered pesticides were on the herbs and spices. Therefore, it is necessary to educate producers of herbs and spices on the appropriate use of pesticides. It is also necessary to establish MRLs on herbs and spices.

  • Background: The purpose of this study, mosquito forecast system implemented by Seoul Metropolitan city, was to obtain the mosquito prediction formula by using the mosquito population data and the environmental data of the past. Results: For this study, the mosquito population data from April 1, 2015, to October 31, 2017, were collected. The mosquito population data were collected from the 50 smart mosquito traps (DMSs), two of which were installed in each district (Korean, gu) in Seoul Metropolitan city since 2015. Environmental factors were collected from the Automatic Weather System (AWS) by the Korea Meteorological Administration. The data of the nearest AWS devices from each DMS were used for the prediction formula analysis. We found out that the environmental factors affecting the mosquito population in Seoul Metropolitan city were the mean temperature and rainfall. We predicted the following equations by the generalized linear model analysis: ln(Mosquito population) = 2.519 + 0.08 × mean temperature + 0.001 × rainfall. Conclusions: We expect that the mosquito forecast system would be used for predicting the mosquito population and to prevent the spread of disease through mosquitoes.

  • This study was performed to evaluate the prevalence rate of Toxoplasma gondii on 217 stray cats in Daejeon. The positive infection rate of T. gondii was 15.7% in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), 12.4% in latex agglutination test (LAT), 14.7% in indirect immunofluorescent antibody test (IFA) and 0.5% in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) respectively. In districts, Yuseong-gu was shown the highest seropositive rate of T. gondii as 31.8% in ELISA, 22.7% in LAT and 31.8% in IFA. In gender, the seropositive rate of female cats was slightly higher than that of male cats as 17.2% in ELISA, 15.2% in LAT, 15.2% in IFA and 1.0% in PCR. Cats captured in National science museum, detached house and apartment was shown relatively high prevalence rate of T. gondii.

  • The present study was aimed to investigate the prevalence of porcine group A rotavirus, group C rotavirus and calicivirus from the 46 pig farms located in Incheon area. Group A rotavirus was detected in 16 (5.3%) from 8 farms (17.4%), and group C rotavirus was determined in 17 samples (5.7%) from 6 farms (13.0%). Porcine calicivirus was also detected in fecal samples [11 samples (3.7%) from 2 farms (4.3%)]. Correlation analysis was carried out among porcine enteric viruses and clinical signs, herd size and temperature on the basis of these results. The occurrence of porcine group A rotavirus, group C rotavirus and calicivirus infections in Incheon area was not associated with season and temperature. Especially, group C rotavirus was also detected in the pigs without any clinical symptoms.

  • The particle counter compared with the turbidimeter provides good precision and sensitivity and can get the characteristics of particulates effectively. The purpose of this study is to provide the application of particle counter in sand and activated carbon filters. The particle count by size could be more easily sense when the water quality is changed by the influent of high turbidity or algae. We could decide the optimal backwashing cycles and detect the efficiencies of filters by monitoring the total particle count of effluent in sand and activated carbon filters.

  • From Oct. 2008 to Oct. 2009, 619 livestock products sold in Incheon were examined for melamine contamination. HPLC was used to detect the melamine concentration from various products. $C_{18}$ column $(3.9\times150mm,\;4{\mu}m)$ was applied with a phase composed of 10mM citric acid and 10mM sodium octane sulfonate : acetonitrile (in ratio 90:10) pumped isocratically at 1.0ml/min. Melamine was not detected from any of the products at the level of LOD 0.03mg/kg and LOQ 0.08mg/kg, suggesting that no melamine contamination was ascertained in livestock products in Incheon area. However, further tests should be done to detect other melamine analogues for the evaluation of toxicity and safety of melamine and cyanuric acid in the future.

  • By the IMF condition, tax revenues of local governments are decreasing, under these conditions, container tax take important proportion in financial resources in Pusan Metropolitan City. However the container tax have time limit until 2001, that is, purposeful tax. But after the creating container tax, the level of accomplishment is very insufficient. So for the activation of local economy, we need active study on the existence problem of container tax. Though the abolition of container tax item is frequently discussed in central government, If the worst case comes, namely the abrogation, it gives big damages to the financial management of Pusan Metropolitan City. Therefore the container tax should be existent for both residents and local government. Because the expansion rate of container tax is so rapid, it makes very critical contribution to the stability and sound condition of Pusan Metropolitan City's finances.
