This paper is to develop metadata format for eBook document standard at Korea. Metadata formats of OEBF, JepaX and AAP were compared and analyzed on the criteria such as purpose, basic elements, characteristics, compatibility, extensibility and convertibility. EBKS metadata format based on Dublin Core was developed in terms of easy to use, resources descriptions and discovery, extensibility and compatibility between other metadata formats such as MARC and Dublin Core. Finally, research and revision direction of the eBook document standard were proposed for the future study.

Nowadays, the demand of the output analyzed from the gridded data has been sharply increased as the remote sensing technologies and GIS related industry have been developed. Therefore, a metadata access system which fits the requirements of the users should be developed for better managing and utilizing gridded data. In this background, this study defined a common application schema through the analysis of the metadata built by numerous institutes based on the draft metadata standards proposed from the study which maily concentrated on establishing the standards of distributing metadata for the gridded data supported by ETRI at 2003. Also, XML based integrated system was developed to access metadata maintained by SaTReC as well as SIMC to facilitate more convenient data access for the grid data users. The results of the pilot system developed from this study can be expected to contribute to build an more efficient and enlarged integrated access system of the metadata for the gridded data.
In geo-spatial information system building and operation, metadata is one of the crucial factors. Therefore, international and domestic organizations or associations for standardization have developed and distributed geo-based standard metadata to meet public demands. However, because metadata is composed of complicated elements and needs XML storage and management, individual organization which implement and operate practical application system is inclined to define and use its own metadata specifications. In this study, metadata extraction program, that metadata elements are directly extracted from geo-based file formats was developed to easily utilize standard metadata such as ISO/TC 19115, TTAS.KO-10.0139 and TTAS.IS-19115, and those elements are processed into XML. Furthermore, geo-based images sets are applied to another metadata of ISO/TC 19115-2. As well, metadata transformation is needed due to inconsistent or non-corresponding definition among standard metadata; in this program, transformation modules are also implemented to interoperable uses between standard metadata specifications. Widely used data formats are dealt with in this program, but extension for other formats and other metadata specifications is possible, and it is expected that availability of standard metadata is increased, through this kind of development.

Unmanned patrol robots are currently being developed for autonomous data survey in construction sites. As the amount of data acquired by robots increases, it is important to utilize proper metadata and system to manage data flow. In this study, we developed three materials, metadata design, robot system and web system, in the purpose of automating construction site data survey using unmanned patrol robots. The metadata was mainly designed to represent when and where raw data was acquired. To identify the location of data acquired, localization data from SLAM algorithm was converted to suit the construction drawings. The robot system and web system were developed to generate, store and parse the raw data and metadata automatically. The materials developed in this study was adopted to Boston Dynamics SPOT, a quadruped robot. Autonomous data survey of 360-picture and environment sensor was tested in two construction sites and the robot worked as intended. As a further study, development on the autonomous data survey to improve the convenience and productivity will be continued.

The information about eBook cannot be added automatically to library catalog because the eBook Service Provider does not provide enough eBook metadata. Therefore, this paper was developed the eBook library's metadata in order to maintain the compatibility and interoperability analyzed the eBook service provider's metadata, KS X 6100 metadata, Dublin Core, MARC, and TEI Header, and extracted common meradata elements from them. We defined these common metadata elements as a core element and added other elements that uniquely describe eBook characteristics as a detailed adn additional elements for eBook metadata.

The development of the Preservation Metadata: Implementation Strategies (PREMIS) aims to preserve practices beyond the limits of the Open Archival Information System (OAIS) conceptual framework; however, the examples and guidelines on connecting each metadata element to the actual data are unclear, making the design of preservation metadata in real digital archives difficult. Hence, this study investigates actual PREMIS 3.0-based preservation metadata management cases, preserves digital resources in various digital archive environments, and derives implications for the implementation and design of preservation metadata. Based on the analysis, the study proposes preservation metadata elements that can be considered when designing preservation metadata for digital archives according to PREMIS 3.0 application profile guidelines.

In this paper, we propose a system that allows small business owners focusing on the restaurant business to easily understand the management situation, and to manage the operation and management centering on the cost of food materials and profits and losses. In general, the metadata structure is different depending on the POS system, so it is necessary to first develop a standardized metadata model for a food material cost management system for small business owners in various industries. For that reason, the system proposed in this paper was applied to the cost management app by referring to the development of a data model using the metadata standard. In addition, in order to implement a cost profit/loss management system for small business owners in the restaurant industry, it was designed to support standardized metadata models from various types of POS systems, and is a hybrid app that can support a smart environment. Interface) was configured.

With development of information technology that allows bidirectional exchange and access of information made possible the formation of e-Government. The e-Government and the E-Government Act established for its support provides a tool for online access of government information. This brought on many changes in the recordkeeping environment of public institutions, and also guarantees access of government information by the general public. The active disclosure of government information was re-confirmed through the Freedom of Information act that was amended in 2004, and through its contents that offer guidelines for administrative information disclosure and announcements (Prime Minister Orders No.422) As a result of this effort, Ministry of Culture and Tourism Cultural Heritage Administration provide real time update of their homepages with focus on key organizational policies and records. Such changes are expected to other various public organizations. In order for public organizations to accurately and efficiently provide information sources, and in order to provide the public with easy access to such information, development of public infrastructure along with e-Government metadata are necessary. Korea does not yet have e-government metadata that has been standardized, although "GILF Core Element" has analogous functions. However, GILS Core element has been developed without recordkeeping intent, and it has not been successful in establishing a connection with recordkeeping metadata. Therefore, in this study, criteria for e-government metadata are proposed.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the metadata elements of institutional repository using DSpace and to provide the directions and strategies for constructing metadata. To the end, discussed in details are (1) understanding the background of development, features, elements of metadata, (2) figuring out the common metadata elements and the differentiated metadata elements for the institutional repository, (3) examining the search methods, search elements, and display elements of the insitutional repository, and (4) based on theses, suggested are directions and strategies for metadata of institutional repository using DSpace. The research methods were used such as literature review, the analysis of 4 domestic institutional repository.
Rights process problem was stated among actors that participated in digital contents distribution while it was various type of digital content service. In order to solve it, It was expressed conceptual and technical elements by reflecting a system. Among them, the interoperability of metadata became a important issue. As for the metadata for contents service, necessity about standardization is stated as a basic framework composing a service system. This paper proposed the metadata element which focus on the rights process that is being a key factor of a DRM(Digital Right Management) system for digital comics contents service. Therefore, it was verified by using Context Model of MPEG-21 RDD with interoperability between metadata elements which developed a XML format and the existing MPEG-21 RDD elements. The study results will become basic materials in the system design that considered metadata element development and interoperability of digital contents of other field
