The Relationship among Self Efficacy, Emotional Labor, Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction of Medical Tourism Employees (자기효능감, 감정노동, 조직몰입 및 직무만족의 관계 : 의료관광종사원을 대상으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship among self-efficacy, emotional labor, organizational commitment and job satisfaction of medical tourism employees. This survey was conducted from March 2 to March 31, 2018 and targeting medical tourism employees who work at hospitals, travel agencies, medical tourism agencies and consulting firms in Seoul. 282 questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 18.0. The result of this study is as follows. First, self-efficacy positively influenced on emotional labor and organizational commitment. Second, self-efficacy positively influenced on all job satisfaction factors as like job itself satisfaction, salary/promotion satisfaction and relationship satisfaction. Third, deep acting factor of emotional labor positively influenced on job itself satisfaction and relationship satisfaction. Forth, job itself satisfaction and relationship satisfaction positively influenced on organizational commitment. These research findings can be summarized as follows. Medical tourism employees of hospitals, travel agencies, medical tourism agencies and consulting firms have to be supported greatly to improve their own job competency and job qualifications. Second, medical tourism organizations try to understand the real emotion of medical tourism employees when they are dealing with medical tourists. Third, medical tourism employees have to be recognized their job performance and provided suitable incentives for the results. The findings of this study provide practical implications about strategical human resource management of medical tourism agencies. Moreover, it will be useful for hospitals and government officials to establish a management framework in medical tourism industry.

Mediating Effect of Job Involvement and Job Satisfaction on the Relationship between Service Orientation and Turnover Intention of Medical Service Employees (의료관광 서비스 종사자들의 서비스지향성과 이직의도의 관계에서의 직무몰입과 직무만족의 매개효과)

  • Medical tourism has been regarded as one of the most lucrative tourism sector for many destinations, particularly Asian countries. Medical tourism, combining the very polarized purposes of pleasurable travel and potentially stressful health care services, is an emergent and growing business worldwide. This study empirically examined the mediating effect on the relationship between service orientation and turnover intention of medical tourism employees, sampling nurses. The empirical results demonstrated: 1) service orientation had a direct negative influence on turnover intention; 2) the relationship between service orientation and turnover intention was mediated by job involvement; and 3) the relationship between service orientation and turnover intention was mediated by job satisfaction. These results can contribute to the medical tourism field by managers a valid and reliable indications for developing successful strategies in the medical tourism sector.

The Preparation of Medical Institutions in Seoul for Attracting Foreign Patients (서울시 의료기관의 외국인환자 유치 준비실태 - 병.의원을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the preparation of medical institutions for medical tourism and its effects. The sample of this study were 99 case which were selected from Korea Health Industry Development Institute list. Data were collected through the mail questionnaire survey from Sept. 15 to Oct. 30 in 2010. The collected data were analyzed using Chisquare test, t-test. The main findings of study are as follows: Using Chisquare test, we found statistically significant differences in resources prepared for medical tourism between hospitals and clinics. In general, hospitals were well prepared in human resources(e.g., proportion of employees with foreign language capability) and physical resources(e.g., helpdesk, brochures) compared to clinics.

The Effects of Factor Satisfaction and Experience Satisfaction in Foreign Medical Services on Revisit Intentions - Focused on Medical Institutions in Daegu Metropolitan City (의료서비스를 이용한 외국인환자의 요소만족 및 체감만족이 재방문의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective: This study conducted an empirical research on foreign patients who had visited the medical institutions of Daegu region in order to identify the effects of the factor satisfaction and experience satisfaction with medical services on their revisit intentions. Methods: This study reviewed the existing studies on medical services to foreign patients with a main focus on medical tourism, and conducted the empirical research through a survey on foreign patients from the Russian, Chinese and English-speaking regions based on the Daegu Medical Tourism Promotion Institute's DB of foreign patients. The empirical research conducted a multiple regression analysis on factor satisfaction and experience satisfaction regarding return visit intentions. Results: The multiple regression analysis results showed that both the factor satisfaction and the experience satisfaction with medical services of foreign patients had positive effects on their return visit intentions, especially, with a relatively greater effect from the factor satisfaction. Specifically, it was found that factor satisfaction elements of 'friendliness of employees', 'good communication', and 'expertise of medical workers'; and experience satisfaction elements of 'reliability of medical information', 'efforts to minimize incompatibility towards foreigners', 'convenient access to medical information' and the like enhanced the return visit intentions. Conclusion: We discovered that, in the context of medical tourism activities, it is important to enhance factor satisfaction and experience satisfaction with medical services in order to promote return visits of the foreign patients who we once attracted. Especially, there are implications that reliability of medical information and efforts to minimize incompatibility towards foreigners enhance return visits of foreign patients.

Russian Inpatients' Nursing Service Expectations, Satisfaction and Intention to Revisit Hospital (러시아인 입원 환자의 간호서비스 기대, 만족도 및 재이용 의도의 관계)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify Russian inpatients' expectation and satisfaction with nursing service, and further, to analyze the relationship between these variables. Methods: A structured questionnaire was used to survey for 81 Russian inpatients. The survey was conducted from January to June, 2014. Results: Empathy and assurance significantly influenced nursing service expectation and satisfaction. Nursing service expectation was statistically significant for the number of visit to Korea, and nursing service satisfaction was statistically significant for gender, monthly income and primary care giver during hospitalization. Revisit intention was significantly different according to religion, medical department and primary care giver during hospitalization. There were positive correlations between nursing service expectation and satisfaction, and between nursing service satisfaction and intention to revisit the hospital. Conclusion: The results of this study show that the level satisfaction with nursing service influences Russian inpatients' intention continue using the hospital. Therefore, in order to increase the intention to revisit the hospital Korea hospital employees, especially nurses, need to develop nursing service strategies according to general characteristics, culture and nationality of foreign patients.

The Study on relation of dental hygienist's job-stress and self-conception (치과위생사의 업무스트레스와 자아개념과의 관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to help dental hygienist's efficient work and 10 use this data as basic material for quality improvement of medical treatment by identify and analyze dental hygienist's job-stress and self-conception. This data was surveyed by 197 dental hygienists who working at Dental Clinic, Dentist's office, and Dental Dept on the General hospital in Daegu area. The result as follow. 1. General characters of dental hygienist who participated this survey was mostly less than 25years old and works in the Dentist's office. 2. The dental hygienist's job stress average 259, self-conception was average 3.06. 3. A stress degree by the primary factors appeared that the stress related to Role-conflict was the hygienist. On the other hand, stress related to employees was the lowest. 4. Concerning the stress of respondent's expert knowledge or technique, there exist statistically significant relations in age(p=0.000). Total period of work(p=0.000)), marriage(yes or no)(p=0.012), number of job movement(p=0.024). 5. Concerning the mutual analyze between stress by the primary factors and self-conception, there exist statistically significant relations in stress from expert knowledge or technique(p<0.05, r=0.l53), conflict with patient(p<0.001, r=0.347), conflict between dentist and patient(p<0.05, r=0.159), relationship with employee(p<0.05, r=0.l83). In conclusion, there were significant relations between job-stress and conception. The study of program development for the self-conceit, positive attitude and self-conception are highly required to help dental hygienist's efficient work.

Musculoskeletal Disorder Symptoms and Its Related Factors among Male Workers in Manufacturing Industries (제조업 남성 근로자의 신체부위별 근골격계질환 자각증상과 관련요인)

  • This study was performed to determine the complaint rates of musculoskeletal symptoms and its association with related factors among manufacturing workers. The self-administered questionnaires were given to 856 male with 50 or less employees in manufacturing industries. As a results, complaint rates of work-related musculoskeletal symptoms of the body sites was 61.2% for shoulders, 55.4% for low back, 55.3% for neck, 38.6%, for legs/feet, 32.2% for hands/wrists/fingers and 26.9% for arms/elbows. In logistic regression analysis of significant factors related with musculoskeletal symptoms of body sites, neck was related with marital status, subjective health status, smoking, drinking coffee and occupational stress, shoulders was related with job tenure, shift work, visiting out-patient department and occupational stress, arms/elbows was related with sleeping time, experience of sick absence and occupational stress, hands/wrists/fingers was related with age, smoking, drinking coffee, working hour, job position, job tenure, visiting out-patient department and occupational stress, low back was related with educational level, BMI, sleeping time, job position, job tenure, visiting out-patient department and occupational stress and legs/feet was related with marital status, job position, job tenure, history of hospitalization and occupational stress.
