플라즈마-초음파 자극에 의한 화장품의 피부 침투 증진 연구 (Study for Enhanced Skin Penetration of Cosmetics by Plasma-Sono Stimuli)

  • The demand for skincare has increased due to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a focus on skincare devices and technologies designed to improve the delivery of cosmetics. Among these technologies, skincare medical devices that utilize plasma therapy (Plasma) and sonophoresis (Sono) are commonly used in dermatology clinics. However, there is still a lack of quantitative analysis for transdermal absorption effects of Plasma and Sono skincare medical devices. In this study, we quantified enhanced transdermal absorption effects of Plasma and Sono devices through in-silico and ex-vivo studies. The Sono treatment demonstrated an increased transdermal absorption effect, showing a 10~13% difference in penetration compared to the control group in the in-silico experiment, and 159% and 184% increase in the ex-vivo experiment. The Plasma treatment revealed increased transdermal absorption effects, with a 1.0~2.5% penetration difference in the in-silico experiment, and a 124% increase in the ex-vivo experiment compared to the control group. We also observed a synergistic effect from the combined treatment of Plasma and Sono, as indicated by the highest increases of 197% and 242% in penetration. Furthermore, we have determined the optimal device settings and treatment conditions for Plasma-Sono skincare medical devices. Notably, higher on/off durations (Intensity levels) and longer Sono treatments resulted in greater transdermal absorption effects.

  • The purpose of this study are changing wired medical instrument's terminal into wireless and implementing BSS of Wireless Local Area Network. the wireless terminal using frequency hopping spread spectrum in ISM band transfers patients medical information data such as ECG data, Patient Disease Indication Message to AP(or Server) and it also performs that as a response of transmission request in server. we made Clinet-Server network structure support only BSS service and patient's terminal controlled by polling in server. Wireless Terminal will guarantee mobility and give doctors real time monitoring capability in office.

Microwave and RF Heating for Medical Application under Noninvasive Temperature Measurement Using Magnetic Resonance

  • Recent development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment enables interventional radiology (IVR) as diagnosis and treatment under MRI usage. In this paper, a new methodology for magnetic resonance (MR) scanner to apply not only diagnostic equipment but for treatment one is discussed. The temperature measuring procedure under MR is to measure phase shift of $T_1$, which is the longitudinal relaxation time of proton, for the position inside a sample material with the application of pulsed RF for heating inside the sample as artificial dielectrics. The result shows the possibility to apply MR as temperature measuring equipment and as a heating equipment for applying such as hyperthermia heating modality.

  • A medical image management system was implemented using WWW(world wide web) technology. The Httpd server was designed using PC with Linux operating system. The client used Netscape as its network browser. The image processing module of the client part was programmed in Java. The database was constructed with Bicom3 format images and programmed using Perl. The present technique can be used to standardize the network and user environment of PACS and teleradiology.

TiN 및 DLC 코팅된 척추용 나사못 시스템 Rod의 기계적 특성 분석 (Mechanical Properties of TiN and DLC coated Rod for Pedicle Screw System)

  • In this study, surface morphology and mechanical property of TiN and DLC coated pedicle screw have been investigated by field-emission scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, vickers hardness test, axial gripping, and axial torsional gripping capacity test. From the EDS and XRD results, the composition and crystal structure of TiN and DLC coated surface were verified. The hardness value was increased by TIN and DLC coating, and the DLC coating surface has the highest value. The gripping capacity also showed higher value for TiN and DLC coated specimen than that of non-coated (Ti alloy) surface. The surface morphology of gripping tested specimen showed rougher scratched surface from Ti alloy than TiN and DLC coated layer.

Postal Dosimetry Audits for the Domestic Medical Linear Accelerator

  • Purpose: The objective of this study is to perform Postal dosimetry audits for medical linear accelerators in radiation therapy institutions using glass dosimeters and Gafchromic film reading systems and postal dosimetry audit procedures, and to evaluate radiation therapy doses and mechanical accuracy in medical institutions. Methods: Photon output measured and analyzed using a standard phantom for measuring photon output dose using a glass dosimeter for medical linear accelerators. Mechanical accuracy was measured and analyzed using software for film measurement. Results: Measurement and analysis of photon beam output dose using a standard phantom glass dosimeter for photon beam output dose measurement was completed. All tolerance doses were within 5%. Mechanical accuracy measurement and analysis using a standard phantom for verifying the mechanical accuracy of linear accelerator (LINAC) using a Gafchromic film were completed, and all results were shown within tolerances (2 mm or less). Conclusions: In this study, Postal dosimetry audits were performed on the output dose and mechanical accuracy of photon beams (207 beams) for 106 LINACs from 48 institutions. As a result of corrective action and re-execution, it was confirmed that all engines met the acceptable standard within 2 mm in the linear accelerator.

Fingernail electron paramagnetic resonance dosimetry protocol for localized hand exposure accident

  • Exposure to ionizing radiation induces free radicals in human nails. These free radicals generate a radiation-induced signal (RIS) in electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. Compared with the RIS of tooth enamel samples, that in human nails is more affected by moisture and heat, but has the advantages of being sensitive to radiation and easy to collect. The fingernail as a biological sample is applicable in retrospective dosimetry in cases of localized hand exposure accidents. In this study, the dosimetric characteristics of fingernails were analyzed in fingernail clippings collected from Korean donors. The dose response, fading of radiation-induced and mechanically induced signals, treatment method for evaluation of background signal, minimum detectable dose, and minimum detectable mass were investigated to propose a fingernail-EPR dosimetry protocol. In addition, to validate the practicality of the protocol, blind and field experiments were performed in the laboratory and a non-destructive testing facility. The relative biases in the dose assessment result of the blind and field experiments were 8.43% and 21.68% on average between the reference and reconstructed doses. The results of this study suggest that fingernail-EPR dosimetry can be a useful method for the application of retrospective dosimetry in cases of radiological accidents.

의료폐기물 멸균분쇄용 파쇄기의 구조적 안정성 분석 (Structural Stability Analysis of Medical Waste Sterilization Shredder)

  • COVID-19 대유행으로 인해 병원, 진료소, 검역소 및 의료 연구 기관을 포함한 의료 시설에서 매일 수많은 의료 폐기물이 발생함에 따라 의료폐기물 처리가 심각한 문제가 되고 있다. 이전에는 전통적인 소각방법이 사용되었지만 매립지 부족 및 관련 환경 문제로 인해 공중 보건이 위험에 처해 있다. 이런 문제를 극복하기 위해 멸균분쇄용 파쇄기를 개발하였다. 본 연구에서는 유해 및 감염성 의료폐기물에 대한 작동 성능을 결정하기 위해 분쇄용 파쇄 시스템의 설계 및 수치해석을 수행하였다. 파쇄기의 부품은 CAD 소프트웨어를 이용하여 모델링하였으며, ABAQUS를 사용하여 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 정적, 동적 및 피로하중 조건 하에서 파쇄기 절단 날의 해석을 수행하였으며, 의료 폐기물을 분쇄하는데 필요한 절단력을 기반으로 절단 날의 형상이 효과적임을 입증하였다. 모달 해석을 통해 구조물의 동적 안정성을 검증하였다. 또한, 절단 날의 수명을 예측하기 위해 고주기 피로해석을 통해 S-N 선도를 생성하였다. 이를 통해 적절한 분쇄용 파쇄 시스템이 멸균 장치와 통합되도록 설계하여 의료 폐기물의 양과 처리 시간을 줄임으로써 환경 문제와 잠재적인 건강 위험을 극복하는 방안을 제시하였다.
