This study was conducted to suggest alternatives for the effective use of national park visitor centers, by evaluating their functionality. Visitor centers in Naejangsan National Park and Pukhansan National Park, which are deliberately composed and managed, were investigated for this purpose. First, I clarified the concept, function and type of a visitor center through literature review, and then, analyzed visitors' post-visiting evaluation based on McManus's Communication Theory. The results of the analysis shows that visitors have not enough time to understand the contents of visitor centers, and facilities and guide sign system to support visitors are insufficient, which seem to disturb the proper communication between visitors and exhibits. Visitors' short visiting time caused by their little interest in exhibits and their low degree of understanding show the difficulties in the communication between visitors and exhibits. The following alternatives are suggested to improve these problems: first, the improvement of the guide sign system; second, the provision of exhibition rooms specialized for different visitor groups; third, the display of exhibits connected with visitors' experiences; Forth, the utilization of various media proper for each subject.
Since the inception of Internet Protocol TV's real-time service on January, 2009, technological challenges and lack of content diversity of IPTV have been cited as problem areas. While past researches focused on IPTV's technological, industrial and policy facets, this research surveyed the viewers' viewing and usage patterns, and the level of service satisfaction among actual audiences of MegaTV, SKBroadband, and LGTV since January. The results show that subscription fee and content types were the two dominant determinants in audience's choice of a particular IPTV company. The high users of IPTV were on average aged between 30-39, and women tended to be heavier users than men. The surveyed audience also regarded IPTV to be more similar to the Internet than any other medium such as Cable TV and Satellite TV. IPTV audience cited 'lifestyle service' and 'additional service' offerings to be highly relevant to their usage and satisfaction; interactive service and educational service also showed high correlation to usage and satisfaction. The most watched contents on IPTV were domestic TV series, followed by foreign movies and variety shows. 'Fees for additional features,' 'lack of real-time terrestrial TV service', and 'lack of content variety' were the major areas of concern for IPTV viewers. They answered that the monthly fee was the most important factor in the selection of IPTV. Use of pay-per-view contents and add-on interactive service fees were also seen as problematic. With regards to future usage, the IPTV audience revealed that they were very sensitive and reluctant to pay for additional services. While existing researches concentrated on IPTV's technological problems and lack of content diversity, this study illuminated the more pragmatical side of the viewers, namely, the importance of price in audience's selection of an IPTV service provider. From these results, it is recommended that, before doing anything else, the service providers try to meet the audience's expected price points in order to garner the full potential of IPTV and the attendant mass audience.
The purpose of this study was to survey the degree of awareness and practice concerning prenatal care among Korean women. In this study, 626women in Seoul, Sungnam City, and Yangju Kun were randomly selected to be given a questionare that was formulated by the researcher. The statistical analysis of the data was obtained by percentage scores and $X^2$ scores on each item by age, educational background, and regional areas. The general out come of the study were as follows. A. The Practice of Prenatal Care 1. Physical Activities: Concerning the hard work, about a half of the women took care of it by themselves, and the others treated it with help. Also it was found that they tried to reduce the amount of travel as much as possible during pregnancy. 2. Dietary Intake: It was revealed that no significant change were observed before and during pregnancy. 3. Drugs: It was revealed that they tried to avoid drugs as much as possible during pregnancy. 4. Emotion: About a half of the women said that the family atmosphere did not change before and during pregnancy. The others said it had improved after pregnancy. In their spare time, most pregnant women rested in bed, read books, and listened to music. 5. Husband's Support: Most of the women expressed that they needed thief-husband's support absolutely, especially with hard work. They moderated the sexual activities when they found that they were pregnant. B. Degree of awareness for Prenatal Care 1. Perception of Prenatal Care: Most women heard about prenatal care at least one time through family, friend, or mass-media. 2. Necessity of Prenatal Care: Most women recognized the necessity of prenatal care, and they thought that the relaxation of body and mind was important during pregnancy. 3. Influence of Prenatal Care: It was revealed that most women recognized the positive influence of prenatal care to the neonate. 4. Practice of Prenatal Care: It shown that the most of pregnant women took serious interest in prenatal care and they tended to be careful during pregnancy. Generally speaking, the difference in educational background seemed to affect most to the pregnant women's awareness and practice of prenatal care: the higher the educational achievement, the more cautious about the prenatal care. The difference in region seemed to affect considerably in most aspects of practice: women in urban areas preceeded the rural women in prenatal care. The age difference seemed to affect least in their prenatal care except the younger generation took more care in avoiding the use of drugs.

Use of chemicals has greatly increased along with development of human civilization. Concerns about potential effects of chemicals on human health and environment have also grown accordingly. Due to the enormous number of chemicals being used, however, it is neither practical nor feasible to regulate all the chemicals. Therefore, it is necessary to identify chemicals that deserve more immediate attention, based on the effects on receptors to be protected. This study was initiated by the need for developing management policies for Shihwa-Banwol Techno Valley and its vicinities of korea, where complaints and concerns on environmental contamination have been raised for long time. This study to identifies major chemicals that deserve most immediate attention in environmental health management in this area. For this purpose, the study employed CHEMS-1(Chemical Hazard Evaluation for Management Strategies), and used chemical data from Toxics Release Inventory(TRI) and environmental contamination data from the environmental pollution monitoring network. Top priority pollutants identified in Shihwa-Banwol Techno Valley area were metals and volatile organic compounds, such as dichloromethane, trichloroethylene, diazinon, tetrachloroethylene, chromium compounds, tin compounds, chloroacetic acid, ethyl acetate, and zinc compounds, in an order of decreasing importance. An evaluation of physicochemical properties of the priority chemicals and the environmental pollution monitoring network database in Shihwa-Banwol Techno Valley suggested that the media that are of potential concern would be the atmosphere and aquatic environment.
Partially saturated permeability should be defined by the function of suction (or degree of saturation) and porosity. However, commercial software and most researchers' model often describe as the function of suction. The stability of a soil slope can be affected by both hydraulic and shear strength properties of partially saturated soils. For both studies, we generally use an uncoupled seepage analysis program Seep/W(Geo-Slope, 2007) and a series stress-deformation analysis program Sigma/W, or slope stability analysis program Slope/W. Seep/W is performed for simulations of partially saturated flow problems in non-deformable soil media. However, under real situations, the water flow processes in a deformable soil are influenced by soil skeleton movement and the pore water pressure changed due to seepage will lead to changes in stresses and to deformation of a soil. Many researchers are currently developing their models for solving coupled hydro-mechanical problems to simulate slope stability during a rainstorm. For a proper implementation in the field, the developed model should be still needed in order to achieve appropriate accuracy of the solution for coupled hydro-mechanical problems in soil slope stability. Thus, the paper presents the comparison of slope stability between uncoupled and coupled analyses of seepage and stress deformation problems.

Many people use social network services as to communicate, to share an information and to build social relationships between others on the Internet. Twitter is such a representative service, where millions of tweets are posted a day and a huge amount of data collection has been being accumulated. Social mining that extracts the meaningful information from the massive data has been intensively studied. Typically, Twitter easily can deliver and retweet the contents using the following-follower relationships. Topic modeling in tweet data is a good tool for issue tracking in social media. To overcome the restrictions of short contents in tweets, we introduce a notion of reply graph which is constructed as a graph structure of which nodes correspond to users and of which edges correspond to existence of reply and retweet messages between the users. The LDA topic model, which is a typical method of topic modeling, is ineffective for short textual data. This paper introduces a topic modeling method that uses reply graph to reduce the number of short documents and to improve the quality of mining results. The proposed model uses the LDA model as the topic modeling framework for tweet issue tracking. Some experimental results of the proposed method are presented for a collection of Twitter data of 7 days.

An autonomous vehicle is a convergence of artificial intelligence and a vehicle which can drive itself while analyzing the real-time situation on a road without a driver. A lot of research achievements have been revealed through the media and Google is considered to be the best leading company in this field. The use of patent information which contains various information such as bibliographic data and information about technologies is a good way to find out the R&D direction of a company and develop a reasonable strategy. This study is aimed at investigating the direction to which Google focuses its R&D capabilities and establishing strategies for technology development. Google's patents about autonomous vehicles were collected and the degree of research bias was analyzed using Social Network Analysis based on citations indicating the quality of a patent. Based on the results, the strategies for technology development was eventually proposed. As a result, it was revealed that Google focused its R&D capabilities on the part of hardware control to make up for its lack of hardware-oriented technologies. As of now, Google obtained remarkable achievements, so it seems reasonable that last-movers consider cooperative research with Google.

Recently, as the number of smart devices (such as smart TV or Web based IPTV) increases, the way of digital broadcast contents is changed. This change leads that conventional broadcast media accepts Web platform and its services to provide more quality contents. Based on this change, in education field, education broadcasting also follows the trend. The traditional education broadcasting platforms, which just delivered the lecture in one-way, are utilized the Web technology to make interaction between teacher and student. Current education platforms, however, are insufficient to satisfy users' demands for two-way interactions. This paper proposes a new remote collaborative learning platform which able to provide high interactivity among users. Based on new functional requirements from original use case, the platform provides collaborative contents sharing and collaborative video streaming techniques by utilizing WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) technology. The implementation demonstrates the operability of proposed system.

In this paper, a coupling scheme for applying finite element analysis(FEA) programs, such as, LS-DYNA and MIDAS/Civil, to a nonlinear soil structure interaction analysis by the boundary reaction method(BRM) is presented. With the FEA programs, the structure and soil media are discretized by linear or nonlinear finite elements. To absorb the outgoing elastic waves to unbounded soil region as much as possible, the PML elements and viscous-spring elements are used at the outer FE boundary, in the LS-DYNA model and in MIDAS/Civil model, respectively. It is also assumed that all the nonlinear elements in the problem are limited to structural region. In this study, the boundary reaction forces for the use in the BRM are calculated using the KIESSI-3D program by solving soil-foundation interaction problem subjected to incident seismic waves. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated with a linear SSI seismic analysis problem by comparing the BRM solution with the conventional SSI solution. Numerical comparison indicates that the BRM can effectively be applied to a nonlinear soil-structure analysis if motions at the foundation obtained by the BRM for a linear SSI problem excluding the nonlinear structure is conservative.
This experimental research explores the effect of low attention of movie audience on the experience of presence, the degree of emotional touch, and memory about movie contents, because of indiscreet use of smart phone. This study measured and analyzed the experience frequency of presence, degree of emotional touch and recognition memory about movie contents by self report survey, after showing 2 subject groups consisting of 83 University students, one with not manipulated attention, the other with manipulated attention, using smart phone intentionally. This research found that the subjects exposed to the movie with not manipulated attention showed more presence experiences, and higher degree of emotional touch than the subjects exposed to the movie with manipulated attention. However meaningful difference of recognition memory was not discovered between the 2 groups. The result of this research can have a meaning because proceeding studies about presence effect of movie mainly dealt with the effect of HDTV, 3D image, stereo sound on the experience of presence, arousal, pleasure of movie audience and it is difficult to find studies about the relation between attention of movie audience and the experience of presence, emotional touch, and memory.
