  • Generally welding is one of the most important processes to have a strong influence on the quality and productivity from a manufacture-based industry such as shipbuilding, automotive and machinery. The GMA(Gas Metal Arc) welding process involves large number of interdependent welding parameters which may affect product quality, productivity and cost effectiveness. To solve such problems, mathematical models are required to select the welding parameters for GMA welding process. In this study, the GMA welding process was studied using the information generated during the welding. The statistical analysis of a generalized regression approach was conducted by the following three methods: Firstly using the mathematical model (linear regression, 2nd regression); Secondly GA(Genetic Algorithm) with intelligent models; And finally using response surface analysis of models to develop the relationships between welding parameters and bead width as welding quality.

  • Experimental results of pulsating pressure behavior inside a chamber have been confirmed by computational work. Inside-cylinder pressure shows unstable condition at low rpm. This is caused by plate-type suction valve. It has effect up to inlet of the chamber. But trembling phenomenon is reduced as the pressure is enlarged by increasing the rpm. Result comparison between experimental and numerical analysis shows pulsation reduction is affected by the chamber. We can confirm that compressible effect of the working flow is shown at chamber inlet by increasing rpm. On the other side, this effect is declined at chamber outlet by increasing rpm. It means outlet pressure is going on balance with atmosphere pressure. Buffer plate-type chamber has efficiency of pulsation flow reduction.

  • Nowadays, study about hydrogen fuel which consist of hydrogen extraction process, reforming, fuel cell equipment, and receptacle are flourish all over the world. Currently, Korea hydrogen station is still underdevelopment. Yet the most important part such as hydrogen compressor has not been develop. Therefore, if the high pressure compressor for hydrogen have been developed by domestic technology. In the future many benefit can be gain instead of importing. Such as many hydrogen station can be built in Korea, and also Korea will be able to provide hydrogen system for worldwide. This study is going to analysis hydrogen compressor in order to store high pressure hydrogen. This is almost approach practical use of tile hydrogen storage method.

  • In this paper, a posture control for nonholonomic mobile robots is proposed with an empirical basis. In order to obtain fast and consecutive motions in realistic applications, the motion requirements of a mobile robot are defined. Under the assumption of a velocity controller designed with the selection guidance of control parameters, the algorithm of posture control is presented and experimentally demonstrated for practicality and effectiveness.

  • The properties of oriented poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl) in field effect transistors (FETs) have been investigated through mechanical stretching process as the original. Silicon-based FETs shown high mobility of $0.02\;cm^2/V$ s after thermal treatment and $0.0092\;cm^2/V$ s at r.t. PET-based FETs were expected to show a similar performance in mobility to that of silicon-based FETs.

  • Cancer angiogenesis is simulated using a two dimensional model. Governing equation of angiogenesis is a TAE (Tumor angiogenesis factor) conservation equation in time and space. A stochastic process model is utilized to simulate vessel formation, proliferation, and migration to a cancer pellet. Numerical results are presented especially in case of growing cancer.

  • Aging effect on the cardiovascular circulation is simulated by lumped parameter model. Aging phenomena can be hemodynamically explained as (1) the increase of flow resistance induced by remodeling of artery vessels and increased viscosity of blood and (2) the reduction of the vessel capacitance caused by arteriosclerosis. Appropriate physiological parameters are evaluated from the clinical data of adults and old men. Simulation results well explain the hypertension with aging of cardiovascular system.
