DOB-based piezoelectric vibration control for stiffened plate considering accelerometer measurement noise

  • This paper presents a composite control strategy for the active suppression of vibration due to the unknown disturbances, such as external excitation, harmonic effects and control spillover, as well as high-frequency accelerometer measurement noise in the all-clamped stiffened plate. The proposed composite control action based on the modal approach, consists of two contributions including feedback part and feedforward part. The feedback part is the well-known PID controller, which is widely used to increase the structure damping and improve its dynamic performance close to the resonance frequencies. In order to get better performance for vibration suppression, the weight matrixes is optimized by chaos sequence. Then an improved disturbance observer (IDOB) as the feedforward compensation part is developed to enhance the vibration suppression performance of PID under various disturbances and uncertainties. The proposed IDOB can simultaneously estimate the various disturbances dynamically as well as measurement noise acting on the system and suppress them by feedforward compensation design. A rigorous analysis is also given to show why the IDOB can effectively suppress the unknown disturbances and measurement noise. In order to verify the proposed composite control algorithm (IDOB-PID), the dSPACE real-time simulation platform is used and an experimental platform for the all-clamped stiffened plate active vibration control system is set up. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness, practicality and strong anti-disturbances ability of the proposed control strategy.

Relative Navigation with Intermittent Laser-based Measurement for Spacecraft Formation Flying

  • This paper presents relative navigation using intermittent laser-based measurement data for spacecraft flying formation that consist of two spacecrafts; namely, chief and deputy spacecrafts. The measurement data consists of the relative distance measured by a femtosecond laser, and the relative angles between the two spacecrafts. The filtering algorithms used for the relative navigation are the extended Kalman filter (EKF), unscented Kalman filter (UKF), and least squares recursive filter (LSRF). Numerical simulations reveal that the relative navigation performances of the EKF- and UKF-based relative navigation algorithms decrease in accuracy as the measurement outage period increases. However, the relative navigation performance of the UKF-based algorithm is 95 % more accurate than that of the EKF-based algorithm when the measurement outage period is 80 sec. Although the relative navigation performance of the LSRF-based relative navigation algorithm is 94 % and 370 % less accurate than those of the EKF- and UKF-based navigation algorithms, respectively, when the measurement outage period is 5 sec; the navigation error varies within a range of 4 %, even though the measurement outage period is increased. The results of this study can be applied to the design of a relative navigation strategy using the developed algorithms with laser-based measurements for spacecraft formation flying.

과학교사의 시선 공감 향상을 위한 시선 추적 기반 수업 컨설팅 전략 개발 (Development of Instruction Consulting Strategy for Improving Science Teacher's Gaze Empathy Using Eye-tracking)

  • 과학 수업에서 학생에 대한 교사의 시선 공감은 학습 효과를 높이는데 효과적이라 여겨졌다. 이에 따라 시선 공감에 관한 연구들이 수행되었지만, 대부분의 연구들은 시선의 특징을 밝히는데 그치고 있다. 따라서 과학교사의 시선 공감수준을 높이기 위한 연구가 필요하다. 이에 이 연구는 과학교사의 시선 공감 향상을 위한 시선추적 기반의 수업 컨설팅 전략의 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 교사의 시선 공감에 관련된 문헌을 선정하고 분석하여 컨설팅 전략을 고안한 후 전문가의 타당성 및 신뢰성 검증을 통해 문제점을 수정하여 전략을 개발하였다. 개발된 수업컨설팅 전략은 과학 수업 중 교사의 시선 공감을 향상시키기 위한 시선 추적 기반의 정량적 목표를 설정하였다. 또 컨설팅 단계는 컨설팅 준비, 교사 시선 공감 측정 및 분석, 시선 공감 교육 및 피드백, 시선 공감 향상 훈련, 컨설팅 결과 평가, 컨설팅 종료 등의 과정으로 구성하였다. 아울러 시선 추적을 이용한 시선 공감 측정 및 평가를 통해 컨설팅을 종료하거나 다시 반복하게 하였다. 이렇게 개발된 전략은 시선 공감 향상을 위한 수업 행동의 정량적 진단과 처방 중심의 대안을 제공한다는 점에서 가치가 존재하며, 교사의 수업 행동 분석을 통한 수업 전문성 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

전사적 CRM 전략의 진단 및 평가 방법론 개발 (A Diagnosis and Assessment Methodology for Enterprise CRM Strategy)

  • As Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy is becoming a core competence more recently, many companies want a reliable CRM assessment system which enables measuring and diagnosing corporate customer strategies for building an optimized CRM strategy. However, there has been short of researches on developing the CRM diagnosis methodology that is directly applicable to real practices. Drawing upon the theoretical framework of CRM scorecard, we developed and suggested a corporate CRM diagnosis methodology that can systematically understand and assess the corporate CRM capability and performance, guiding their future directions. Companies can search the important but weak areas among various CRM strategy subjects through the proposed diagnostic procedures. This framework has a hierarchical structure that has four evaluative domains each of which has several evaluative subjects consisting of many evaluative themes: the score of upper factor is the weighted average of its subordinate factor scores. And the score of each evaluative theme is the weighted average of quantitative and qualitative evaluative indexes. Quantitative indexes are calculated by analyzing customer and sales data and qualitative ones are derived from survey data. Each evaluative index has more than one measure and its score can be derived from its own formula consisting of the measures. To prove the concept, we applied this framework to a real company and concluded that it might be appropriate to understand the corporate CRM strategy situation, find the pain points, and resolve them for better CRM implementation.

  • Value Creation issue for customers is emerging from the college education. Most colleges are facing to cope with over-supplied education facility problems against reducing population to apply to enter universities/colleges. The best way to overcome those problems might be to implement the Customer Satisfaction Management Strategy as if they were private firms for making profit. The main purpose in this study is to provide guidelines for CS strategy with a private college. It is focused on designing research plans and searching CS index. The process of this study is as follows; - Introduced the value creation strategy for customers with private colleges. - Proposed the CS management which is very important for enhancing competitive power - Evaluate various models to measure service quality and CSI for college service. - Provided some guidelines to research design of CS according to 6 customer categories. - Proposed some methodologies to apply a service quality measurement model. - Suggested a revised model from SERVPERF to adapt with college customers satisfaction. The result from this study showed that Customer Satisfaction Management would be the most important strategy to cope with confronting difficulties for private college and the revised model from SERVPERF would be an alternative solution. Further study is essential to assure the suggested model is valuable for private colleges because empirical test has not completed yet.

BSC의 한계 극복을 위한 시스템다이내믹스의 활용 (A Study on the Application of System Dynamics to Overcome BSC Limitations)

  • Like the saying "You can't manage what you can't measure," performance measurement is considered as one of the most important management activities for the organizations in either private or public sector. Performance measurement, however, has thus far relied too much on financial statements. Realizing the importance of a more scientific and comprehensive performance measurement, many organizations have adopted several different systems in order to objectively estimate their balanced performance results. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) has become a popular means to measure performance. But the BSC has also received some criticisms. In this paper four limitations in the use of the BSC are discussed : BSCs focus on unidirectional causality, are unable to distinguish delays between actions and their impacts on performance, integrate insufficiently strategy with operational measures, and lead to internal biases. We propose a system dynamics approach with causal loop diagram(CLD) to develop a Dynamic BSC in order to overcome these limitations. The results suggest that developing a BSC with system dynamics is a promising approach to supplement existing BSC frameworks.

  • The paper presents a case study with application of a performance measurement questionnaire in analyzing a semi-conductor-related manufacturing company. The case may contribute to the development of strategic performance measurement system. The questionnaire contains considerable non-financial measurement indices as well as financial ones, which may strengthen the strategic aspect of measurement system. The strategy, actions, and measures have to be balanced through communication process in an organization. The result shows the usefulness of the congruence and consensus analysis of performance factors in effectively managing strategic action programs and identifying investment task areas to be targeted.

  • Many organizations have applied the traditional Information Strategy Planning methodologies to planning knowledge management. This approach, however, cannot sufficiently realize the strategic value of various kinds of knowledge. To overcome above problems, this research classifies knowledge according to its features and identifies characteristics of each knowledge category. And then, structured Knowledge Strategy Planning methodology, $P^2-KSP$, is proposed. With $P^2-KSP$, an organization can identify organizational knowledge and develop KM architecture from both perspectives of the performance measurement system and business processes.

  • As mobile Technology came into people's everyday life the conflicts between users' expectation on the mobile technology and real performance has increased. These kind of conflict as far as technology concerned, are called 'technology paradox' and have been studied by few researchers. The discussion on mobile technology paradox could be critical to understand users' mobile technology usage behavior because when users perceive the paradox they are supposed to choose a coping strategy. another factor regarding the perception of paradox and coping strategy the culture should be considered. Thus this paper developed a measurement for mobile technology perception and empirically tested based on survey result from Korea and U.S.A. The analysis clearly shows that there are substantial differences in perceiving technology paradox and choosing the coping strategy between Korean users and American users.

  • This study describes how the weights of performance measures varies depending on business strategy types, such as defenders, prospectors, analyzers, and reactors. A Balanced Scorecard has been widely used for measuring a corporate performance to incorporate financial and non-financial measures simultaneously. Because such performance measurements are related to the compensation and promotion of employees, research of weights of performance measures would be instrumental. Our test results demonstrate that the weights of the business performance measures differ in the four perspectives-financial, customer, internal process, and learning and growth. Furthermore, there is evidence that the weights of performance measures vary depending on business strategy. Our study results can be used for enhancing the quality of performance measurement systems.
