A Risk Performance Measurement System for the Mega-Project

  • In recent years, interests and studies on the urban regeneration projects have been increased and largely conducted. It is a part of the effort that solves some social and economical problems occurred by deteriorated buildings and degraded infrastructures through new urban regeneration projects or redevelopment projects. However, the urban regeneration projects show the characteristics that can not guarantee in the project performance because the projects have various and complex stakeholders related to these projects and are exposed to lots of risks due to its huge scale. This study proposed the risk performance index method to improve the efficiency of the overall performance measurement for a mega-project by extending from the traditional cost/schedule based performance measurement system. The risk performance index method proposed in this study has a similar system to the EVMS, and makes possible to perform a three dimensional integrated performance measurement in cost/schedule/risk through 18 different indexes that compose the risk performance index.

  • This paper presents the overall measurement system for on-line test of super-speed maglev train. The super-speed maglev train is composed of vehicle, propulsion, power, and so on. In order to evaluate and diagnose for sub-system, we made overall measurement system. Just like the other measurement system, it is designed to distributed type. The hardware is consist of SCXI, PXI, Terminal, UPS, and so forth. It is installed on a train, control room, power room and track to collect lots of signals. The software controls hardware system, monitors main data such as inverter current, converter voltage. Using the measurement system, we evaluated a lot of performances for vehicle, track, and so forth. Through the developed system have improved reliability and safety for super-speed maglev train.

자기 보고식 공학설계 역량 검사 도구 개발 (Development of The Self-Reported Measurement for Engineering Design Competency)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the self-reported measurement for engineering design competency. In this study, engineering design competency is defined as the overall individual ability that is necessary for an engineer for his/her successful accomplishment of engineering design. This measurement was developed through reviewing documents, defining factor and sub-factor, making an item and constructing validity verification. The self-reported measurement for engineering design competency consists of 6 factors and 40 items. 6 factors cover competency of design performance, competency of considering economic and social influence, competency of utilizing mathematical and scientific knowledge, competency of teamwork, competency of design-centered thinking and competency of collecting and using data. A 6-points Likert scale was used for each item.

마이크로 스케일의 흡수선과 흡수강도를 이용한 분무화염의 온도측정 (Temperature measurement of the spray flame using micro scale absorption bands and line strength)

  • It is necessary to develope a high frequency diode laser sensor system based on the absorption spectroscopy for the measurement of temperature of the spray flame. DFB diode laser operating near $2.0{\mu}m$ was used to scan over selected $H_2O$ transitions near $1.9{\mu}m\;and\;2.2{\mu}m$, respectively. The measurement sensitivity at wide range of sweep frequency was evaluated using multi-pass cell containing $CO_2$ gas. This diode laser absorption sensor with high temporal resolution up to 10kHz was applied to measure the gas temperature in the spray flame region of liquid-gas 2-phase counter flow flame. The successful demonstration of time series temperature measurement in the spray flame gives us motivation of trying to establish non-intrusive temperature measurement method in the practical spray flame.

  • Combinatorial methods are being used increasingly to develop the next generation of polymers, coatings and adhesive formulations. Allied to this approach, a new genre of measurement and characterization methods are emerging. These characterization techniques are required to handle and take measurements from small samples. This has led to a number of uses for this technology which usefully fall between convention test specimen and micro- or nano-scale test methods. A versatile measurement platform will be presented which can offer useful indentation, puncture, compression, adhesion and scratch resistance data for a wide variety of material types and that continues to develop and evolve in capability.

A Study on the Development of Measurement Techniques for Thermal Flows in MEMS

  • A review on advanced flow visualization techniques is presented particularly for applications to micro scale heat and mass transport measurements. Challenges, development and applications of micro scale visualization techniques are discussed for the study of heating/evaporating thin films, a heated micro channel, and a thermopneumatic micro pump. The developed methods are (1) Molecular Tagging Fluorescence Velocimetry (MTFV) using 10-nm caged seeding molecules (2) Micro Particle Velocimetry (MPIV) and (3) Ratiometric Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) for micro-resolution thermometry. These three methods are totally non-intrusive techniques and would be useful to investigate the temperature and flow characteristics in MEMS. Each of these techniques is discussed in three-fold: (1) its operating principle and operation, (2) its application and measurement results, and (3) its future challenges.

광 간섭 현상을 이용한 나노 스케일의 유막두께 측정 (The measurement of Nano Scale film thickness using optical interferometry)

  • The interferometer method with nano-scale spatial resolution has been developed in this study. To enhance the accuracy of the previous developed method, the 14 bit cooled CCD camera with 1280 by 980 spatial resolution was applied to the measurement. And optical alignment has been carried out on the highly accurate position sensors with 500nm resolution so as to be able to calibrate the detected interference image with the field of view. Also the measurements were applied to the ultra thin oil film between the Al coated cylinder mirror with 38.1mm radius and 0.5mm cover glass to verify the developed method. The measured result showed the good agreement with the used cylinder curvature with ${\pm}$5.18run uncertainty.

가정환경검사(HOME)의 타당화 연구 (A Validation Study on the Home Observation for Measurement of the Environment in Elementary Children)

  • The purpose of this study was to validate the Elementary HOME(Home Observation for Measurement of the Environment) with korean elementary children. Subjects were 536 mothers 1st-5th graders in the elementary schools in the Seoul. Pearson's r, pearcentage(%), phi($\phi$/), Cronbach's $\alpha$/ ware conducted for the statistical analysis. The major findings were as follows. 1) The item pass rate(percentage) were ranged 16~98. 2) The discriminant coefficients($\phi$/) of the item were ranged 0.06~0.58. 3) The reliability coefficients of the scale were that the split-falf was 0.84, and Cronbach's $\alpha$/ was 0.88. Considering the length of the scale, these reliability estimates appear to be at an acceptable level 4) The factor analysis and the correlations between HOME and SES indices and children's school schievement to test construct validity were conducted to test construct validity. Eight factors were extracted from the factor analysis and coefficients(r) were ranged 0.16~0.45 and -0.08~0.37.

  • An automatic excitation characteristics measurement system for the protective relaying current transformer(CT) with accuracy of about 1 % has been developed. The system can be used up to 2 kV and 10 A at power frequency. The developed system can calculate the voltage and current at knee points of $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$ tangents in accordance with IEEE standard by the interpolation in log scale. The excitation curve of the CT is plotted in auto-scale simultaneously with measuring rms voltage and current at the secondary of the CT.
