Global population growth has resulted in an increased demand for food production. Simultaneously, aging rural communities have led to a decrease in the workforce, thereby increasing the demand for automation in agriculture. Drones are particularly useful for unmanned pest control fields. However, the current method of uniform spraying leads to environmental damage due to overuse of pesticides and drift by wind. To address this issue, it is necessary to enhance spraying performance through precise performance evaluation. Therefore, as a foundational study aimed at optimizing drone-based pest control technologies, this research evaluated water-sensitive paper (WSP) via density map estimation using convolutional neural networks (CNN) with a encoder-decoder structure. To achieve more accurate estimation, this study implemented multi-task learning, incorporating an additional classifier for image segmentation alongside the density map estimation classifier. The proposed model in this study resulted in a R-squared (R2) of 0.976 for coverage area in the evaluation data set, demonstrating satisfactory performance in evaluating WSP at various density levels. Further research is needed to improve the accuracy of spray result estimations and develop a real-time assessment technology in the field.
The Korean 2nd basic plan for management of high-level radioactive waste presented a plan to manage spent nuclear fuel through dry storage facilities in NPP on-site. For the construction and operation of the facility, it is necessary to develop the monitoring system of the integrity of spent nuclear fuel before operation. NUREG-1536 recommends that the theoretical cask array, typically in the 2×10 array, should account for shadowing effect among the dry storage casks. The objective of this study was to evaluate neutron flux accounting for shadowing effect among dry storage casks. The neutron release rate was evaluated using ORIGEN based on the design basis fuel condition. And the simulation of dry storage casks and evaluation of the shadowing effect were performed using MCNP. Shadowing effect of other dry storage casks was the highest at the center of the dry storage facility of the 2×10 array compared with the outside of the cask. The shadowing effect of neutron flux on the surface among the metal casks was approximately 18% at point 1, 23% at point 2, and 43% at point 3. For the concrete casks, the shadowing effect of neutron flux on the surface was approximately 46% at point 1, 51% at point 2, and 52% at point 3. This means that correction is necessary to monitor the integrity of spent nuclear fuel in each dry storage cask through evaluation of shadowing effect. The results of this study will be used for comparative analysis of neutron measurement data from spent nuclear fuels in dry storage cask. Additionally, the neutron flux evaluation procedure used in this study could be used as the basic data of safety assessment of dry storage cask and development of safety guide.

In this paper, through the study and consideration of the recently prominent monitoring of cable stayed-bridge, practical but reasonable suggested for the evaluation of the probabilistic safety of the bridges using probable measured data from monitoring measurement system. It is shown in the paper that the live load effects can be evaluated using measured data of cable-stayed bridge and this the realistic probabilistic safety of the cable-stayed bridge could be assessed in term of element reliability and system reliability. As a practical method for the evalution of the system reliability of system cable-stayed bridges partial ETA method is uesd, which can find the critical failure path including combined failure modes of cable, deck and pylon. Compared with the conventional safety analysis method, the propsed approach may be considered as the practical method that shows the considerably actual and reasonable results the system redundancy of the structure.

The grain boundary etching method as a method for assessing degradation of structural materials has received much attention because it is simple, inexpensive and easy to apply to real components. In this study, the effectiveness of the method is verified by successfully applying the technique to in-service components of aged fossil power plants such as main steam pipes, boiler headers an turbine rotors. A new degradation parameter, intersecting number ratio (N$_{1}$/N$_{0}$), is employed. The intersecting number ratio (N$_{1}$/N$_{0}$) is defined as the ratio of intersection number (N$_{1}$) obtained from 5-minute picric acid etched surface to the number (N$_{0}$) obtained from nital etched surface. Two kinds of test materials, 2.25Cr-1Mo steel and 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel, were artificially thermal-aged at 630.deg. C in different levels of degradation., (N$_{1}$/N$_{0}$) were measured. And, correlations between the measured values and LMP values calculated from aging temperature and aging time were sought. To check the validity of the correlations obtained in laboratory, similar data were measured from service components in four old Korean fossil power plants. These on-site measurement data were in good correlation with those obtained in the laboratory.oratory.

PURPOSE: Many studies have reported the improvement of cognition through physical activity among subject with dementia. This study aimed to whether the current studies supports that physical activity intervention is efficacious on cognitive performance in subject with dementia. METHODS: Two independent reviewers searched National assembly library, RISS, KISS (2005-2015) using the concepts of dementia, exercise, and physical activity. We included randomized controlled trials that examined the efficacy of physical activity in subject with dementia. A meta-analysis was performed to estimate the effect sizes cognition with CMA (Comprehensive Meta-Analysis, version 2.2.064) soft-ware program. Nine randomized controlled trials were included, providing data from 133 individuals and excluding those failing to criteria of this study. RESULTS: The meta-analysis showed that physical activity intervention had a rather small effect sizes of 0.36 (95% confidence interval 0.14-0.59) on cognition performance in subject with dementia. Outcome measurement were MMSE-K (Mini-mental state examination Korean version) and LOCTA (Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment). We found heterogeneous among studies and there was difference between the studies (Q = 19.63, d(f)=12, $I^2= 38.88$). CONCLUSION: The present analysis suggests that physical activity interventions have the low effect sizes on cognition performance in subject with dementia Further studies will be required to develop the various programs for improving the cognitive performance in subject with dementia.
Precipitation is a key variable to enhance the understanding of water cycle system and secure and manage the water resources efficiently. In this study, we evaluated the feasibility of GPM precipitation datasets through comparison with the 92 ASOS sites in South Korea during 2015. Additionally, three merging techniques (i.e., Geographical Differential Analysis, Geographical Ratio Analysis, Conditional Merging) were applied to improve accuracy of precipitation by fusing the advantages from point and satellite-based datasets. The results of this study are as follows. 1) GPM dataset indicated slightly overestimation with compared ASOS dataset, especially high uncertainties in summer season. 2) Validation of three merging techniques through jackniffe cross-validation showed that uncertainty were decreased as the spatial resolution increased. Especially, conditional merging showed the best performance among three methods.

Nowadays, the needs to revise the classification criteria for noise emission facilities have been suggested by the related industries. Because there existed many reasonable factors in the criteria regarding the noise emission facilities. And the noise emission facility classification criterion of the print machine changed from 50 HP to 100 HP in 2013. But the increasement of the noise emission facility classification criterion of the print machine can cause adverse effects like the bigger noise. So, in this paper, we measured the print machine's sound power level according to the changes of the print machine's power to assess the adverse effects. The measurement method applied with KS I ISO 9614-2(1996). The corelation between the sound power level and the power of print machines was analyzed by regression analysis. In this paper, we found that the sound power level of the print machines can increase about 1.3 dB in the condition of that the power of print machine increases from 50 HP to 100 HP. And we found that the sound power level of the print machines can increase about 1.0 dB for a increasement of 1,000 SPH(sheet per hour) of printing speed. The noise emission characteristics of print machine stuied in this paper will be useful to design the noise reduction plan in the future.
Recently, As people's interest in the health of teeth is increased in the medical field changed into aging society, the number of times for the radiological diagnosis is increased. It can be said that the radiation exposure dose of Korean population is increased. It is also growing concern about radiation exposure. Therefore, the basic data for the dental panoramic X-ray system, its investigation and measuring the radiation dose is needed. In this study, we used ALOKA PDM-117 dosimeter and estimated a two-dimensional dose distribution of the dental panoramic X-ray system (VATEC Pax-400). Dose evaluation about the distribution is confirmed from the point of radiation exposure of a patient. Dose distribution of the dental panoramic X-ray system irradiated chin and the facial region to high dose as well as the parts of teeth. It was founded that the eye lens which are sensitive to radiation are exposed to unnecessary radiation, considering the effect of scattered radiation. The results of this study will be used more accurate dose assessment in a variety of object size and location of measuring dose.

Remote sensing cannot provide a direct measurement of vegetation index (VI) but it can provide a reasonably good estimate of vegetation index, defined as the ratio of satellite bands. The monitoring of vegetation in nearby urban regions is made difficult by the low spatial resolution and temporal resolution image captures. In this study, enhancing spatial resolution method is adapted as to improve a low spatial resolution. Recent studies have successfully estimated normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) using improved resolution method such as from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) onboard EOS Terra satellite. Image enhancing spatial resolution is an important tool in remote sensing, as many Earth observation satellites provide both high-resolution and low-resolution multi-spectral images. Examples of enhancement of a MODIS multi-spectral image and a MODIS NDVI image of Cheongju using a Landsat TM high-resolution multi-spectral image are presented. The results are compared with that of the IHS technique is presented for enhancing spatial resolution of multi-spectral bands using a higher resolution data set. To provide a continuous monitoring capability for NDVI, in situ measurements of NDVI from paddy field was carried out in 2004 for comparison with remotely sensed MODIS data. We compare and discuss NDVI estimates from MODIS sensors and in-situ spectroradiometer data over Ochang plain region. These results indicate that the MODIS NDVI is underestimated by approximately 50%.

If a back analysis is used in various measurement information for the estimation of an operating subsea tunnel safety, it is possible to obtain the results within efficient error rate. With such a commercial geotechnical analysis program as FLAC3D, back analysis is performed with a DEA which was validated in previous studies. However, there is a problem that is relatively a time-consuming analysis. For this reason, beam-spring model-based FEM solver which takes shorter relative analysis time, was developed by Python language, and then combined with the built-DEA. In order to consider the assessment of safety of an operation tunnel near real-time, a program for longitudinal direction tunnel was developed due to its relative easy development for analysis solver engine.
