This article intends to examine the value of the world citizenship in the perspective from the root meaning that is stressed as the behavior style of Daesoon thoughts in relation with 'desirable attitude of life in education of morality. Traditional root meaning of Daesoon thoughts turned out to be proper moral behavior principle such as Yin Yang harmonious virtue, God Humane keeping unity, and conviviality with regrets settlement. Such three principles of Daesoon Thoughts show the characteristic of global code such as respect of life, solidarity unity, and tolerant trust. To revise the phenomenon of duality, and to realize the human awakening in radically changing reality, we need to cultivate world citizenship based on the root meaning of Daesoon thoughts. Daesoon thoughts covering the East and the West, especially the key features of religion, can cultivate the world view of citizenship in the era of plural society based on folk beliefs toward Gucheon Sangje faith as the essence of the multiplism. The world citizenship of human society is necessary to unite the world in the unified construction cooperative spirits. All beings need to be away from antagonistic confrontation with the practice of mutual conviviality. The diameter of acquired joining world citizenship can have the opportunity to realize of Gucheon Sangje's Heaven and earth construction. The root meaning of Daesoon thoughts can contribute to moral practicality with world citizenship by practice of heavenly truth and human truth. First, cultivating heavenly truth by means of insight can develope the profound world citizenship. Secondly, the solidarity of the public and private can cultivate public citizenship. Thirdly, in the crisis of the mankind, this awakening conviviality can be foundation for world citizenship of public communication. Fourthly, the spirit that would not deceive ownself can be contributed to cultivating the world citizenship by means of the process of internalizing Daesoon thoughts. Nowadays in the plural society demanding world citizenship, the public citizenship can deepen the spirit of respect of life, solidarity unity, and tolerant trust in the process of world citizenship cultivation. In the future, the world citizenship can be deepen the alternative of practice in the continuous cultivation of world citizenship. In this process, we can form the culture of coexistence which can contribute to human society as well as korean society by developing the value of living together happiness through the guide of this phonesis.
"I only went out for a walk, and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in." (John Muir, 1938) Building interior and urban interior is understood as a single concept of interior: "the outside is always an inside" (Le Corbusier, 1929). Both are thus related to each other, and under the same system of meaning. Architecture comes from the making of an interior. A city comes out of the making of another interior felt as an undeniable inner demand; a street is "a community room by agreement" (Kahn, 1971) and a square is an open aesthetic room by agreement of community. Urban interior that contains our public life-world is an extension of the concept of interior that building interior contains our private/semipublic life-world. This paper explores the idea of interior and urban interior through literature research. The first site the paper traces is the physical interior, space, and place to figure out their meanings. The second site this paper illustrates is the transposition of the physical interior and the psychic interior, which influences the physical space where we create our own life-world. The last site the paper clarifies is the development of the idea of urban interior and the contextual rationale of urban interior. This ramble from building interior to urban interior discloses a twofold singular interior of both the building and urban interior that explains the meanings of interior, the scopes of interior, and the objects of interior to design and create interior.
This research is an attempt to newly interpret his academic evaluation and understand Seo Kye Bak Se-Dang's Sa Byeun Rok The Doctrine of the Mean. In academic world, his academic Characteristic was considered as anti-Neo-confucianism, out of Jung Ju Hak, out of Seong Ri Hak, and Sil Hak. His understanding of The Doctrine of the Mean was pretty critical, because he had unique academic characteristic to interpret Chinese classics rather than anti-Neo-confucianism, out of Jung Ju Hak, out of Seong Ri Hak, and Sil Hak. Especially, he took practical study with six Chinese classics as the central figure and it was a creative thing with philosophical method. He tried to find out original meaning which was essential thought of Confucianism, and pointed out disharmony for consistency about meaning of The Doctrine of the Mean when Jung Ja and Ju Ja interpreted The Doctrine of the Mean. It appeared as an effort of trying agreement between name and its duty, and role and function in things and act. In addition, he thought The Doctrine of the Mean as trying to follow nature, and it was the way of people to practice in bright side of mind. It is different from Ju Ja's thought which explains principle about people and things, and it has strong reality which is foundation of practice and allows dynamic energy of human life. Therefore, practice style of The Doctrine of the Mean develops filial duty as center of mass and appears manifestation of human's independence through how people pracice it. To sum up, he traced The Doctrine of the Mean as reality, practice, and physical science rather than ideal, theoretical, and metaphysical philosophy. It developed the spirit of study as understanding world as the center of human, thinking over the way of people, and studying the essence of Confucianism with practice of thought.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the symbolic meaning of the Tiger in Korean Folk Paintings, Minhwa, (hereafter, Minhwa) connected to its social contexts in Joseon period. Thinking of the Tiger Minhwa as a 'visual language' and regard the Tiger as a 'visual signifier' as well as the united-signifiers such as a Korean magpie, pine tree and so on in Minhwa. This research is to analyze these signifieds, 'Signified', what we say in this paper, have composed its symbolic meaning related to the social 'ideological complexes' and collective consciousness during Joseon period. In a word, the characteristic of the Tiger signifier has changed and spread out from the ideal trend to a worldly one. Since the late Joseon period, the change of the social contexts was, because of the civil classes who recognized the limitation of the Sung Confucianism(the doctrines of $Chi-Tz\={u}$), the predominated ideology of that time. To get rid of their uneasiness, they brought the Shamanism, Taoism and Buddhism at the front which were usually the lower class ideology or belief and tried to construct the collective consciousness and safety of their real lives. Therefore, the trend of this 'common conceptualization' show us the positiveness and flexibility to the Tiger signifier through the variation, appropriation and producing signifier. Moreover, even to the same Tiger, there were various meanings and most of them were concentrated in the meanings as follows ; Beoksa(in Korean term is to drive away evil spirits) and Gilsang, which is the good omen of a luck. All these were based on the value of 'this world'. In conclusion, through this research, the concept of the Tiger as a apotheosis has lowered its statutes and being secularized.

The costumes as an expression system in film are inserted intentionally for a particular purpose. Costumes in film, namely the cinematic dress code, and that in reality are dissimilar in meaning structure. The costumes in film perform a role of a complicated eye-catcher in correlation with the other filmic factors. But the previous studies on the costumes in film are focused on the keywords 'fashion style', 'fashion trend', or 'PPL (product placement)'. In film studies, however, the costumes should be observed from the point of view as semiosis, not as fashion, in other words, from the angle of symbol, icon and index. And the meaning and the process of the communication, which that produce, should be pointed out. It could expose, that costumes play one of the key roles for the developing of narratives and the creating of characters in film. Therefore, this study's aim is to examine the semiosis of costumes in film and to analyse the dress code, dress plot, and dress message in (1990) by Garry Marshall. But this work does not try to indicate the problems of the film-semiotics or to intensify the concept of the semiotic terminology. Thus, this study attempts to approach the theme of costumes in film from the perspective of the semiosis and its meaning process. With this, it has been proved, that semiotic systems are in hiding beyond the conventional forms of cinematic costumes and its natural harmony with characters.
This study was carried out to understand the mean of neighbourhood and community organizing model on lived experiences of their organizing and members which had changed. The methods of collecting data was progressed in depth interview. According to study questions and analysis challenges based on theory, we analyzed texts. outcome of study we understood experiences of their organizing and members which had changed. In changing phases of organizational dimension, meaning of 'the discovery of the community problem' was extracted. In this time, organization's members set the goal and experience qualitative and quantitative changes of organization. On the other hand, changing phases of individual dimension were followed, which are 'escaping from locked life', 'reconstruction of self image', 'reconstructing the meaning of both family and self-concept' as well as 'reconstructing the meaning of both neighbourhood and self-concept'. Conclusively, we suggested practical implication, which might increase the effect of neighbourhood and community organizing model.
This study intends to find the meaning of signs' configuration in Korean and British school uniform advertisements, to investigate through reproduction of such signs what influences on students' identity issues are, and to discover the cultural significance of the both nations by analysing sexuality discourses around these ads. The authors apply semiotic analysis methods such as two-stage meaning structure and critical discourse analysis. The research subjects are School uniform advertisements of both in South Korea and in the UK. Through this study, women objectification, the power imbalances between men and women, and child erotica were revealed, and also the uniforms of the meaning and value turned out to be distorted. In addition, on the basis of critical discourse analysis, two nations' school uniform ads, which heavily focused on sexual objectification and commercialism, transformed aspects of unusual esthetic value, reminded of Lolita fantasy, implied wrong justification of deviant sexual orientation, and, caused Korean and British students the confusion of sexual identity and values.
The purpose of this study was to analysis the characteristics on participation process and meaning of Dancesports participants. The participants could dance both Latin and Modern with more than three years of participation experience. The data analysis was based on open coding, axial coding and selective coding from the grounded theory of Strauss & Corbin(1998). The results of the analysis were as follows; It was found that causal situation have a longing for Dancesports and a means of living, contextual situation indicated perception of potential ability, media, and leisure chance, intervene condition given improvement of interpersonal relationships, bilateral strategies betterment of lesson place and health promotion and others. As results, the participants were able to find out their positive and negative aspects of participating Dancesports classes, and showed that Dancesports provided the participants for vitality of life.

With entrance of the digital era, the digital devices became popular, and the behaviors people post messages and pictures together on the internet site also became popular. Whether we first take a picture and then make a writing later, or whether we first make a writing and then take a picture later, the meaning of 'writing' and 'shooting' is actually alike in the digital era. People now use various images and writings, at the same time, of the pictures in expressing their own selves positively. This soon means not only that the pictures are helpful for writings, but also that the delivery of the meaning is not carried out only by characters. To the digital natives who have grown within many images, this atmosphere is a natural thing. In the field of Korean language education, the study of making use of the pictures and media for writings is in progress.
Death of spouse is the most heartbreaking stressful and inevitable tragic life event. In middle aged men who belong to the social middle class and accomplished their occupational success, experiences of spousal bereavement are great shock. The aim of this study was to find out how they overcome their mental and physical pain and to obtain the basic materials to develop suitable nursing care programs for them. The methodological approach of this study is Giorgi's phenomenological analysis meaning unit. This method also makes theme focal meaning, situated structural description and create general structural description grasped by participator's experience through situated structure description. This study performed from November 2002 to May 2004, and participators were four men. Data collected through in-depth personal interviews. which had been tapped and analysed the Giorgi's method. Finally, the five focal meaning below have been abstracted. Theme 1. Physical symptom loss of appetite, fatigue, insomnia. outbreak of illness, weight loss. Theme 2. life of spiritless lack of desire, sense of emptiness, unstableness, prosaic life. wandering. indifference of appearances, avoidance of meeting people. Theme 3. life of retrospction reflection for his wife, yearning, grief, muttering to himself, never-to-be forgotten wife, leading a lonely life. Theme 4. negative emotion reproaching, feeling hurt, marriage of daughter, feeling heavy, getting angry, sexual desire, awareness of his sinfulness. loneliness Theme 5. social support and adjustment getting his wife off his mind, curring favor with children, support and consolation by his daughter-in-law, appreciation for hospice nurse, considering remarriage, taking care of himself, good relation with his children. The result of this study showed that middle aged men bereaved of their wife by cancer need other's concern. And we have to study further to understand their experience. Until now hospice nursing is concentrated on cancer patients But from now we have to provide their families suitable nursing care programs to adjust themselves to social life before and after death of patients.
