  • The purpose of this paper is to present the psychological meaning of the creation myths by utilizing related myths, analysand's dreams, active imagination, and artwork to reveal the creative function of the unconscious. The creation myth is the phenomenon of projection when a new order is demanded in the chaotic phase of personal and human history. Depending on the attitude of the ego, it can be a sign of a reconstruction/alteration of consciousness or an invasion. Related literature such as Jung, von Franz, Neumann, Harding, and Edinger, domestic papers, and case reports are introduced to identify the background for this research. The psychological meaning of 'darkness' in creation myths is regarded as unconscious that is too dark to see. The Eskimo creation myth and an analysand's dreams of being blind and wandering in darkness are discussed in relation to nigredo in Alchemy. The psychological meaning of 'massa confusa' regards Uroboros, pleroma, early childhood experience, and a psychological womb in which everything is contained in one. With related myths and unconscious materials, a discussion is followed on how this realm can be a precursor of creation but also be trapped in an abyss. The psychological meaning of 'separation of world parent' is related to splitting one into two when unconscious contexts were touched before it became consciousness. Related myths, 'the world created between heaven and earth,' 'celestial being descending to the earth,' and 'the legend of relocation of a mountain,' as well as clinical material, are examined. Then this paper discusses the clinical implications of the separation of heaven and earth occurring on its own, that the creator's emotional aspects, such as loneliness and anxiety, are involved, and that delayed separation leads to the death of creatura and sudden separation leads to the death of the chaos. Then, the meaning of 'separation of world parent' is discussed in relation with separatio, the alchemical process of acquiring light/consciousness from darkness/unconsciousness. The psychological meaning of the creation of 'land/island' refers to the emergence of consciousness, the contents of the unconscious material into the realm of the ego. Related myths, such as the 'body of the monster/dragon becoming land' and analysand's dreams, are introduced, referring to the embodiment of Mercurius. This is followed by discussing related myths in creating the land to coagulatio in alchemy and utilizing creative work such as active imagination, art, music, and dance that can coagulate or concretize unconscious material in clinical approaches. Finally, myths of resurfaced land after the Flood or the complete destruction of the world in relation to the reconstruction of ego are discussed with related clinical material to show the importance of the analyst/therapist/supervisor's mental stability and capacity.

  • In the historical trend of Korean dance, Korean traditional dance continues to evolve through the transition to stage dance due to the modernization process, the tangibleization of traditional dance, the reconstruction or re-creation of traditional dance. Moreover, the trend of reconstruction and re-creation of traditional Korean dances has been common in traditional dance performances since the 2000s, with two directions: performance of original restoration and preservation and evolution of traditional dances. Therefore, this study is a study of the change in the form of traditional dance and the process of the evolution of traditional dance, and among them, the change of the traditional paradigm of the Lee Dong-an Ryu Jin-so dance. The paradigm shift of traditional dance was staged through the trend of the times to the extent that the original's meaning and form were not undermined, and we can recognize that the paradigm of traditional dance is a way of introducing new aspects as a way of transmission.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide implications for improvement of mathematics textbook based on discursive approach to textbook analysis that complementarily combines a communicational approach to cognition and social semiotics. For this purpose, we reconstructed an analytic framework for discursive approach to written discourses of Korean textbook and CMP, and applied it to our analysis. Results show that several characteristics in meanings were developed by the use of words and visual mediators. First, in the case of ideational meaning, there were qualitative and quantitative differences between vocabularies used and between information addressed by visual mediators. Second, in the case of structural meaning, an offer and application of procedure was emphasized in a Korean textbook, whereas expectation and selection experiences of diverse possibilities for problem solving was underlined in CMP. In the case interpersonal meaning of student-author, imperative instructions were paid attentions in a Korean textbook. In contrast, students' interdependence and active participation were stressed in CMP. Therefore, this study addressed ideas about how to analyze mathematics textbooks based on integrated meanings developed by the use of words and visual mediators. In addition, it distributes implications for improvements of Korean mathematics textbooks through the analytic framework of both mathematical meanings and interpersonal meanings of student-author.

  • Humanities learning courses for the weak people in Korea is similar to the Clement course initiated by Earl Shorris in the US. This study aims to understand the in depth meaning of the course among the participants of the self-supporting programs in Korea. For this aim, data were collected mainly from the intensive interviews with 7 research participants who have finished both the general and in depth courses offered by Seoul Metropolitan government. Through the study, 4 substantial themes were drawn; 'exploration and acceptance of the unfamiliar', 'new understanding of the self through reflection', 'reconstruction of the self with humanistic value', 'continuous seeking for humanistic life'. As a result, the meaning of humanities learning was found to be 'recovering his/her own originality' or 'living like a decent human being'. Understanding both the results and difficulties that had to be overcome during the course, some practical and policy implications could be drawn.

  • The study examined reconstruction and building plan of Buyeo Muryangsa Temple in the 17th century and reviewed its construction process and supporting power since the Imjin War of 1592. In addition, The architectural features and design plan of Geukrakjeon that is the most important position in the reconstruction were examined. The reconstruction process of Muryangsa Temple is as follows. Firstly, the study reviewed the reconstruction order of Muryangsa Temple that was progressed in a short period of time from 1624 to 1636. In doing so, the reconstruction period was adjusted from 1633 to 1624 so that the construction order of Muryangsa Temple might be the reconstruction of Geukrakjeon in 1624, Gwaebul in 1627, Sojosamjonbul in 1636 and Beomjong in 1636. Secondly, as the reconstruction of Muryangsa Temple was progressed in a short period of time of 13 years, it was assumed there was great supporting power. In particular, it was found that Jinmukdaesa who lead the construction of Wanju Songgwangsa Temple had an impact on the construction of Muryangsa Temple. It was conjectured that Shin family of the royal family as the supporting power of Songgwangsa through the support of Jinmukdaesa had an impact on Muryangsa Temple. Thirdly, the study reviewed architectural features of Geukrakjeon which has the most important meaning of the reconstruction of Muryangsa Temple. By comparing other reconstructed temples, the architectural style of Muryangsa Temple was examined. In particular, features of Gongpo and furniture were reviewed. In doing so, Muryangsa Temple, the study proposed a possibility that Geukrakjeon would be constructed by an artisan in the same genealogy of Wanju Hwasamsa Temple Geukrakjeon. Finally, the design plan of the building was reviewed with Yongcheok of 309mm used for the construction of Geukrakjeon. Geukrakjeon had perfect proportion compared with other reconstructed temple in the late Joseon period, and golden ratio of 1:1.41 was applied in many areas of building. the study also proposed that the stable design of Geukrakjeon was carried out by the building plan of overall Garam at the time of reconstruction of Muryangsa Temple in the late Joseon period.

  • This discussion can be said to be a qualitative study on the possibility of linking communication education for college students and literacy education for Korean language-linked educators based on the theory of interpretation of cognitive meaning of media text containing complex mechanisms. The implicit meaning of media content expression used as an interactive communication strategy will be accepted as a multilateral interpretation according to the individual learner's cognitive environment. If so, how is the general media content meaning intended by the content creator being accepted? These doubts are the starting point for discussion. To solve the problem, I leaned on the experimental pragmatic methodology of cognitive aesthetics and applied a model of relevance of cognitive linguistics to connect learners' creative cognitive environment and present content to find a contrast. As a result of the discussion, it was possible to establish a basic framework for learners to express their subjectivity and creative thinking that could connect the cognitive environment and present content themselves. In particular, active and positive learners also revealed direct descriptive expressions to build a new cognitive environment, such as suggesting a third alternative to argue the ability to question produced media texts and the validity of the meaning implied in the text. In the future, since media text containing complex mechanisms is an indirect and persuasive communication behavior that occurs easily through various media in modern society, the universal communication principle of reliable conversation between media text creators and audiences should exist.

  • The purpose of this study wasto understand Theraplay interaction and to find out how Theraplay works to bring about change in withdrawn children. In exploring the meaning of Theraplay interaction, I used a phenomenology, which looked reflectively into a child's experience. Examining the situation, I found that the child had changed by "touch" with a therapist, which had been done throughout thewhole process of therapy. The child had changed from "child with horny body" to "playful child." Furthermore, I realized the four meanings (of what?) through research: "encounter", "reconstruction", "responsibility", and "immersion." Those four meaningscould have made the subject of interaction go beyond and look for its own existence. In addition, those four meanings melt together in the phenomena of interaction. There were always those four meanings throughout Theraplay interaction. This study has presented different consequences, compared to Theraplay research that is based on effectiveness, and examined the process of change that includes position tendency.
