Simulation on the Characteristics of PLN Diesel Injection System by Cam Profile (연료캠 형상에 따른 PLN 디젤 분사계의 분사특성에 관한 시뮬레이션)

  • In this study, in order to investigate the influence of cam profile on the injection rate, the characteristics of injection in PLN (pump - line - nozzle) diesel injection system were simulated. Six types of the profile of fuel cam were used for simulation. The maximum injection pressure and maximum injection rate of initial and end phase were analyzed to demonstrate the characteristics of injection. The mathematical model of the injection system and the computation results were verified by experimental results. Simulation results showed that the maximum injection pressure, maximum injection rate, injection quantity and pressure drop in the end phase were proportional to the velocity of fuel cam during the effective stroke.

  • This study makes to flow analysis of computational fluid dynamics(CFD) according to the basic theory of turbulent flow regarding high-pressure injection nozzle. It also makes structural analysis to find out the structural validity of the optimum shape of high-pressure injection nozzle. It divides to two areas such as plunger areas and high-pressure injection nozzle area including plunger.

  • This paper presents an experimental study on the GDI injector with Bosch method. The injection characteristics, such as the injection quantity, the injection rate, the maximum velocity of the nozzle exit and the injection delay were studied through the change of the injection pressure, the tube pressure and energizing duration in injection rate measurement device using nheptane. The injection quantity is increased by increasing injection pressure, decreasing tube pressure or increasing energizing duration. As the difference of the injection quantity changed, the shape of injection rate was moved with a constant form. The maximum velocity of the nozzle exit showed a tendency to increase as the injection pressure is increased. However, tube pressure did not affect. Overall, it was confirmed that the closing delay is longer than the opening delay in all conditions. As the injection pressure increased, the result has a tendency to decrease the closing delay, it did not affect the opening delay. Reduction of the closing delay showed the reduction of the injection duration. the tube pressure and energizing duration did not affect the injection delay (opening delay, closing delay).

  • This study is object to structural analysis of high pressure injection nozzle. The finite element model was developed to compute the stress, strain for high pressure injection nozzle. For structural analysis using result from FEM code. This structural analysis results, many variables such as internal pressure, boundary condition, constraint condition and load condition are considered.

  • The liquid disintegration and characteristics of atomization through the swirl nozzle is affected by injection pressure and injection time when the liquid is injected intermittently. These transient phenomena are investigated by electronic controlled-fuel injection nozzle. The effect of injection conditions on disintegration of liquid injected through nozzle is observed photographically by using delay circuit. Droplet size of the element of the sample is measured by the liquid immersion sampling technique. SMD of droplets is varied with time and is decreased as the injection pressure increases. As the injection pressure increases, the maximum diameter of droplet and diameter of droplet which has the maximum droplet number decrease. Spray angle is not affected on injection pressure and change of spray angle with time is associated with needle movement.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the respiratory and aerodynamic function of adductor spasmodic dysphonia (ADSD) patients. Participants were (1) 18 females SD patients with non- Botulinum toxin injection (2) 14 females SD patients who had taken treatment of Botulinum toxin injection. (3) 14 age- and sex- matched normal female controls. Spirometer and phonatory function analyzer were used for respiratory muscle pressure (MIP: Maximum inspiratory pressure), MEP: Maximum expiratory pressure)& MPT(Maximum phonation time) and aerodynamic(F0:Fundamental frequency, intensity, MFR: Mean flow late, Psub: Subglottal pressure) measurement. The results were as follows: (1) Normal group was significantly higher in MIP, MEP, MPT than two SD groups (p < .05); (2) MPT was significantly lower in SD with non-Botulinum toxin injection group than SD with the treatment experience of Botulinum toxin injection (p < .05); (3) All aerodynamic parameters, F0, intensity, MFR, Psub, were not significantly different among three groups(p > .05).The reason of short MPT in ADSD may use lower respiratory pressure than normal group as strategy to decrease their tremulous voice quality. Moreover respiratory muscle pressure was lower than normal group regardless of botulinum toxin injection treatment.

  • This paper presents Artificial Neural Network(ANN) method to predict maximum injection pressure of injection molding machine and weights of injection molding products. 5 hidden layers with 10 neurons is used in the ANN. The ANN was conducted with 5 Input parameters and 2 response data. The input parameters, i.e., melt temperature, mold temperature, fill time, packing pressure, and packing time were selected. The combination of the orthogonal array L27 data set and 23 randomly generated data set were applied in order to train and test for ANN. According to the experimental result, error of the ANN for weights was $0.49{\pm}0.23%$. In case of maximum injection pressure, error of the ANN was $1.40{\pm}1.19%$. This value showed that ANN can be successfully predict the injection pressure and the weights of injection molding products.

  • Impinging spray characteristics were investigated to find suitable injection pressure by using high pressure injection system. Spray radius and spray height were increased continuously until 2,500bar but the rate of enhancement was decreased suddenly over this injection pressure region. It is expected that the maximum suitable injection pressure of impinging spray exists at around 2,500bar.

  • Environmental protection on the ocean has been interested and nowadays the International maritime organization(IMO) has advanced on the prevention of air pollution from ships. This study presents the emission characteristics of 4 stroke propulsion diesel engine in E2 cycle (constant speed) and E3 cycle (propeller curved speed). Also the effects of important operating parameters in terms of intake air pressure and temperature, and maximum combustion pressure are described on the specific emissions. Emissions measurement and calculation are processed according to IMO technical code. The results show that NOx emission level in E3 cycle is higher than E2 cycle due to lower engine speed and lower maximum combustion pressure by retarding fuel injection timing. Intake air temperature has strong influence on NOx emission production. And CO, HC emissions are not affected by maximum combustion pressure and intake air pressure and temperature.

Cycle Simulation for the Performance Prediction of a High Pressure Unit Injection System of a Diesel Engine (디젤엔진용 고압분사 유닛인젝터의 성능예측을 위한 사이클 시뮬레이션)

  • In this study, a cycle simulation program of a Unit-Injection(UI) system was developed to estimate the injection performance of newly designed injection system. A fundamental theory of the simulation program is based on the conservation law of mass. Loss of fuel mass in the system due to leakage, compressibility effect of the liquid fuel and friction loss in the control volume was considered in the algorithm f the program. For the evaluation of the simulation program developed, the experimental result which was offered by the Technical Research Center of Doowon Precision Industry Co. was incorporated. Two main parameters; the maximum pressure in the plunger chamber and total fuel mass(kg) injected into the engine cylinder per cycle, were measured and compared with the simulation results. It was found that the maximum error rate of the simulation result to the experimental output was less than 3% in the rated rotational speed (rpm) range of the plunger cam.
