A method to reduce the specific absorption rate(SAR) of the antenna for WiMAX mobile communication is proposed in this paper. The SAR reduction is achieved by miniaturizing the physical size of the antenna for the given resonance frequency by devising a metamaterial-composite right- and left-handed(CRLH) configuration-based radiator much smaller than the quarter-guided wavelength adopted a lot in the conventional planar inverted F antenna(PIFA) or modified monopole antenna. The proposed antenna is placed near the head-phantom and its SAR is evaluated by the full-wave simulations(SEMCAD X), where the metamaterial-inspired antenna is shown to have the lower value than a modified monopole as the reference in terms of the SAR.
In order to control interference and improve spectrum efficiency in the femtocell and macrocell overlaid system (FMOS), we propose a joint frequency bandwidth dynamic division, clustering and power control algorithm (JFCPA) for orthogonal-frequency-division-multiple access-based downlink FMOS. The overall system bandwidth is divided into three bands, and the macro-cellular coverage is divided into two areas according to the intensity of the interference from the macro base station to the femtocells, which are dynamically determined by using the JFCPA. A cluster is taken as the unit for frequency reuse among femtocells. We map the problem of clustering to the MAX k-CUT problem with the aim of eliminating the inter-femtocell collision interference, which is solved by a graph-based heuristic algorithm. Frequency bandwidth sharing or splitting between the femtocell tier and the macrocell tier is determined by a step-migration-algorithm-based power control. Simulations conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm showed the frequency-reuse probability of the FMOS reuse band above 97.6% and at least 70% of the frequency bandwidth available for the macrocell tier, which means that the co-tier and the cross-tier interference were effectively controlled. Thus, high spectrum efficiency was achieved. The simulation results also clarified that the planning of frequency resource allocation in FMOS should take into account both the spatial density of femtocells and the interference suffered by them. Statistical results from our simulations also provide guidelines for actual FMOS planning.
Frequency reuse among relay stations (RSs) in a down-link access zone is widely adopted for throughput enhancement in IEEE 802.16j relay networks. Since the areas covered by the RSs or the base station (BS) may overlap, some mobile stations (MSs) at the border between two neighboring transmitting stations (RS or BS) using an identical frequency band may suffer severe interference or outage. This co-channel interference within the cell degrades the quality of service (QoS) fairness among the MSs as well as the system throughput. Exclusive use of a frequency band division (orthogonal resource allocation) among RSs can solve this problem but would cause degradation of the system throughput. We observe a trade-off between system throughput and QoS fairness in the previously reported schemes based on frequency reuse. In this paper, we propose a new frequency reuse scheme that achieves high system throughput with a high fairness level in QoS, positioning our scheme far above the trade-off curve formed by previous schemes. We claim that our scheme is beneficial for applications in which a high QoS level is required even for the MSs at the border. Exploiting the features of a directional antenna in the BS, we create a new zone in the frame structure. In the new zone, the RSs can serve the subordinate MSs at the border and prone to interference. In a 3-RS topology, where the RSs are located at points $120^{\circ}$ apart from one another, the throughput and Jain fairness index are 10.64 Mbps and 0.62, respectively. On the other hand, the throughput for the previously reported overlapped and orthogonal allocation schemes is 8.22 Mbps (fairness: 0.48) and 3.99 Mbps (fairness: 0.80), respectively. For a 6-RS topology, our scheme achieves a throughput of 18.38 Mbps with a fairness of 0.68; however, previous schemes with frequency reuse factors of 1, 2, 3, and 6 achieve a throughput of 15.24 Mbps (fairness: 0.53), 12.42 Mbps (fairness: 0.71),8.84 Mbps (fairness: 0.88), and 4.57 Mbps (fairness: 0.88), respectively.

Hot stamping processes are possible for tensile strength 1.4 GPa but the strength reduction is appeared from the cooling performance unbalance. And the strength of roll forming process is below than that of hot stamping process owing to using the steel which is lower strength of boron steel. In this study, We provide roll forming process asssisted high-frequency induction heating to solve the problem of conventional one. The experiments were carried out at under various sill side part conditions: high-frequency induction heating conditions of 15, 18, 21, 24, 27 and 30 kW. The high-frequency induction heating temperature was checked with Infrared camera and the sill side parts of mechanical properties and microstructure were measured. The heating temperature of high frequency induction was measured to max $850^{\circ}C$ under the coil power of 30 kW. The tensile strength was 1.5 GPa and hardness was 490 Hv. The martensite structure was discovered under coil power of 30 kW. The weight of steel material sill side having thickness 1.5 mm and the boron steel sill side having thickness 1.2 mm were compared to weight effect. The boron steel sill side reduced 11.5% compared to steel. Consequently, manufacturing process of 1.5 giga-grade's sill side part was successfully realized by the roll forming assisted high-frequency induction heating methods.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate noise level exposures at different locations such as the left and right ears of the shooter, control room, waiting soldier location and drill ground. For this study, we visited two military rifle ranges and took measurements with a sound level meter (3M Quest SoundPro TM) at five different locations with values of Peak (dB(A)) and Max (dB(A)). The highest peak value of impulse noise level averaged 150.4 dB(A), ranging from 149.6 to 150.5 dB(A) at both the left and right ear sides. This result was significantly different between both left and right ear side locations and at other locations such as the control room, waiting soldier location, and drill ground (P < 0.001). Frequency of impulse noise exposure level showed that the left ear of shooter had the highest frequency (20 times) at over 150 dB(A). This study confirmed that there is a need for proper controls to reduce the amount of impulse noise exposure at military rifle ranges.

This paper presents the electrical characteristics of the gallium nitride (GaN) current aperture vertical electron transistor (CAVET) by using two-dimensional (2-D) technology computer-aided design (TCAD) simulations. The CAVETs are considered as the alternative device due to their high breakdown voltage and high integration density in the high-power applications. The optimized design for the CAVET focused on the electrical performances according to the different gate-source length ($L_{GS}$) and aperture length ($L_{AP}$). We analyze DC and RF parameters inducing on-state current ($I_{on}$), threshold voltage ($V_t$), breakdown voltage ($V_B$), transconductance ($g_m$), gate capacitance ($C_{gg}$), cut-off frequency ($f_T$), and maximum oscillation frequency ($f_{max}$).
The dynamic properties of short-fiber reinforced Chloroprene rubber have been studied as functions of interphase conditions and fiber content. The loss factor generally decreased with fiber content and showed different patterns according to interphase conditions. The better interphase condition showed the lower loss modulus, $E_2$. Also, the dynamic ratio decreased with fiber content and rapidly decreased in the case of double coatings, i.e., model C. Therefore, the short-fiber reinforced rubber could have the better isolation in frequency ratio($\sqrt{2}$ min.) compared to frequency ratio($\sqrt{2}$ max.). And we have investigate the possibility of applying short-fiber reinforced rubber to automotive engine mount.

This paper formulates resource allocation for decode-and-forward (DF) relay assisted multi-cell orthogonal frequency division multiple (OFDM) networks as an optimization problem taking into account of inter-cell interference and users fairness. To maximize the transmit rate of system we propose a joint interference coordination, subcarrier and power allocation algorithm. To reduce the complexity, this semi-distributed algorithm divides the primal optimization into three sub-optimization problems, which transforms the mixed binary nonlinear programming problem (BNLP) into standard convex optimization problems. The first layer optimization problem is used to get the optimal subcarrier distribution index. The second is to solve the problem that how to allocate power optimally in a certain subcarrier distribution order. Based on the concept of equivalent channel gain (ECG) we transform the max-min function into standard closed expression. Subsequently, with the aid of dual decomposition, water-filling theorem and iterative power allocation algorithm the optimal solution of the original problem can be got with acceptable complexity. The third sub-problem considers dynamic co-channel interference caused by adjacent cells and redistributes resources to achieve the goal of maximizing system throughput. Finally, simulation results are provided to corroborate the proposed algorithm.
In this study, Brass endcap with 2, 3, 5, and 7mm contact surface and 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5mm conical cavity depths was fabricated by the punch die while keeping the cavity diameter constant 9.25mm then displacement characteristics of the cymbal actuators with each of brass endcap thickness were measured under an applied voltage $60V_{max}$. Dispacement increased with increasing contact surface and resonant frequency decreased with increasing contact surface, cymbal actuator with 7mm contact surface and 1.5mm endcap cavity depth exhibits $35.89{\mu}m$ displacement and 18.8kHz resonant frequency, displacement increased with increasing endcap cavity depth while contact surface was kept constant at 3mm and Below a endcap thickness of 0.2mm, Differences in displacement between 1.2mm and 1.5mm cavity depth appeared at $0.18{\mu}m$. that is, displacement of cymbal actuator with 1.2mm over cavity depth saturated nearly.

This paper presents static and dynamic measurement of the stress and motion characteristics for crawler type excavators. Eight scenarios were prepared for static measurement based on two extreme digging positions, maximum digging reach position and maximum digging force position. The measured items for static motion included stress, cylinder pressure, cylinder stroke and digging force. The measured static stresses showed that asymmetric digging force acting on a bucket induced higher stress level than symmetric one. The measured static pressures and digging forces also agreed with design pressures and design digging forces, respectively. The dynamic measurement was performed for two types of motion, that is, simple reciprocation of each cylinder and actual digging motion. The measured items for dynamic motion were stroke and pressure of each cylinder, stresses on the working device and acceleration on the upper plate of an arm. The measured data showed that the natural frequency of the excavator highly depended on the hydraulic stiffness of cylinders. Digging motion tests revealed that digging motion was closer to static motion rather than dynamic one.
