  • As the size of tanker increase, the analysis and strength prediction of the transverse web frames in a tanker have become important problems. Therefore, several papers dicussed the subject and various method of analysis have been presented. Most of these studies are based on the elastic framework analysis. Framework analysis is carried out by the matrix methods. The matrix methods used most frequently are the displacement method, force method and the transfer matrix method. In this paper, the analysis is carried out by the transfer matrix method. The program has been tested by IBM 1130 and the results of example show good agreements with those by the program of stress analysis, STRESS, which was developed in M.I.T.

Robust Image Hashing for Tamper Detection Using Non-Negative Matrix Factorization

  • The invariance relation existing in the non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) is used for constructing robust image hashes in this work. The image is first re-scaled to a fixed size. Low-pass filtering is performed on the luminance component of the re-sized image to produce a normalized matrix. Entries in the normalized matrix are pseudo-randomly re-arranged under the control of a secret key to generate a secondary image. Non-negative matrix factorization is then performed on the secondary image. As the relation between most pairs of adjacent entries in the NMF's coefficient matrix is basically invariant to ordinary image processing, a coarse quantization scheme is devised to compress the extracted features contained in the coefficient matrix. The obtained binary elements are used to form the image hash after being scrambled based on another key. Similarity between hashes is measured by the Hamming distance. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme is robust against perceptually acceptable modifications to the image such as Gaussian filtering, moderate noise contamination, JPEG compression, re-scaling, and watermark embedding. Hashes of different images have very low collision probability. Tampering to local image areas can be detected by comparing the Hamming distance with a predetermined threshold, indicating the usefulness of the technique in digital forensics.

  • 본 연구에서는 generalized logistic(GL) 분포의 최우도 추정량(maximum likelihood estimate)에 대한 불확실성 추정을 위하여 사용되는 관측정보행렬(observed information matrix)과 Fisher 정보행렬(Fisher information matrix)의 정확도를 비교해 보고자 하였다. 타 분포형에 대한 기존의 연구결과에서 표본의 크기가 클 경우 매개변수 추정시 관측정보행렬이 동시에 추정되어 계산시간도 단축되고 Fisher 정보행렬의 정확도와도 차이도 거의 없어 관측정보행렬의 사용이 추천된 바 있으나, 최근 사용이 증가되고 있는 GL 분포에 대한 연구결과는 아직 전무한 실정이며 기존 연구문헌의 결과를 토대로 구체적인 연구 없이 관측정보행렬을 사용하고 있는 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 모의실험을 수행하였으며, 모의 결과 최우도법에 의한 매개변수의 분산 및 공분산은 기존의 연구 결과와 비슷한 결과를 보이나, quantile에 대한 불확실성 추정에는 관측정보행렬보다 Fisher 정보행렬의 사용이 더 적절할 것으로 판단되었다.

  • 한글의 기하학적 배조상의 복잡도로 부터 한글 각 자소의 character generator용 diode matrix의 size를 추산하고 이자소 matrix 3성(초성, 중성, 종성)의 OR동작으로시 모아쓰기 한글의 모든 조합이 가능합을 보였고 수평각음순가성과 수직모음용초성의 자판 선택자, 종성이 있을 때와 없을때의 중용길이의 변경등이 비교적 간단한 논리회로로서 switch될 수 있음을 보였다. 새로 15bit내부 code를 제안하였는데 이는 86개의 sparse diode matrix로시 모든 조합을 다 카버하고 그러면서도 decodig기구의 규모를 줄여준다. The required minimum size of character diode matrix of Korean letters is estimated from the topological complexity of letter structure. The OR aombination of three letter boards (diode matrice) gives all possible Hangout whole letters in proper traditional combined form with minimum required discernibility. Two forms of first consonants (centre located ones for horizontal vowels and leftward displaced ones for vertical and composed vowels) are switched by only 1 bit of the vowel code. The vowel pattern length is modified by again the last four bits of the code. A new 15bit sized inner code is proposed which permits considerably small sized decoding mechanism.

  • 본 논문은 금속복합재료를 반용융상태로 재가열하여 Thixoforming을 하는데 필요한 소재를 제공하기 위한 장비 설계와 제조방법 등에 관한 내용을 소개하고 있다. 장비 설계에서 기지재내에 강화재가 균일하게 분산되도록 하기 위하여 강화재의 연속주입 방법과 강화재의 온도를 제어하는 방법을 소개하고 있다. 일정한 양의 강화재를 기지재료 내에 분산시키는 것은 균일 혼합을 위하여 필요한 기술이다. 또한 분산시 강화재의 수분제거를 위하여 강화재의 온도를 제어하면서 연속적으로 강제분산시키는 것은 균일분산을 위하여 필요하다. 기지재의 초정 $\alpha$의 크기가 강화재의 분산성에 크게 영향을 미치기 때문에 기지재의 초기 온도가 초정$\alpha$의 크기에 미치는 영향 등을 검토하여 복합재료 빌렛트의 제조조건에 이용하였다.

  • The research on new DRA(discontinuous reinforced alloy) and CRA(continous reinforced alloy) composites has been carried out to improve the properties of ceramic fiber and particle reinforced metal matrix composites(MMCs). Effects of alloying elements and aging conditions on the microstructures and aging behavior of Al-Si-Cu-Mg-(Ni)-SiCp composite have been examined. The specimens used in this study were manufactured by duplex process. The first squeeze casting is the process to make precomposite and the second squeeze casting is the process to make final composite. The hardening behavior was accelerated with decreasing the size of SiCp particle in the composites. It is considered that the dislocation density increased with increasing SiCp size, due to the different thermal deformation between Al matrix and SiCp during quenching after the solution treatment. Peak aging time to obtain the maximum hardness in 3 ${\mu}m$ SiCp reinforced Al composite was reduced than that in large size(5, 10 ${\mu}m$) of SiCp because of difference in dislocation density. Aging hardening responce(${\Delta}H$ = $H_{Max}.-H_{S.T}$) of composites was greater than that of unreinforced Al alloy because of higher density of second phases in matrix.

고차원 데이터에서 공분산행렬의 추정에 대한 비교연구 (A Comparative Study of Covariance Matrix Estimators in High-Dimensional Data)

  • 공분산 행렬은 다변량 통계분석에서 중요한 역할을 하고 있으며 전통적인 다변량 분석의 경우 표본 공분산 행렬이 참공분산 행렬의 추정량으로 주로 사용되었다. 하지만 변수의 수가 표본의 크기보다 훨씬 큰 고차원 데이터와 같은 경우에는 표본 공분산 행렬은 비정칙행렬이 되어 기존의 다변량 기법을 사용하는 데 적절하지 않을 수가 있다. 최근 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 축소추정, 경계추정, 수정 콜레스키 분해 추정 등의 새로운 공분산 행렬의 추정량들이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 추정량들의 성능에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 여러 현실적인 상황들을 가정하여 모의실험을 통해 참공분산 행렬의 추정량들의 성능을 비교하였다.

  • This paper presents a numerical method that can evaluate the effect of crack for the in-plane bending vibration of Timoshenko beam. The method is a transfer matrix method that the element transfer matrix is deduced from the element dynamic stiffness matrix. An edge crack is expressed as a rotational spring, and then is formulated as an independent transfer matrix. To demonstrate the accuracy of this theory, the results computed from the present are compared with those obtained from the commercial finite element analysis program. Based on these comparison results, a parametric study is performed to analyze the effects for the size and locations of crack.

  • We analyze the complexity of the LLL algorithm, invented by Lenstra, Lenstra, and $Lov{\acute{a}}sz$ as a a well-known lattice reduction (LR) algorithm which is previously known as having the complexity of $O(N^4{\log}B)$ multiplications (or, $O(N^5({\log}B)^2)$ bit operations) for a lattice basis matrix $H({\in}{\mathbb{R}}^{M{\times}N})$ where B is the maximum value among the squared norm of columns of H. This implies that the complexity of the lattice reduction algorithm depends only on the matrix size and the lattice basis norm. However, the matrix structures (i.e., the correlation among the columns) of a given lattice matrix, which is usually measured by its condition number or determinant, can affect the computational complexity of the LR algorithm. In this paper, to see how the matrix structures can affect the LLL algorithm's complexity, we derive a more tight upper bound on the complexity of LLL algorithm in terms of the condition number and determinant of a given lattice matrix. We also analyze the complexities of the LLL updating/downdating schemes using the proposed upper bound.

Evaluation of a Land Use Change Matrix in the IPCC's Land Use, Land Use Change, and Forestry Area Sector Using National Spatial Information

  • This study compared and analyzed the construction of a land use change matrix for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) land use, land use change, and forestry area (LULUCF). We used National Forest Inventory (NFI) permanent sample plots (with a sample intensity of 4 km) and permanent sample plots with 500 m sampling intensity. The land use change matrix was formed using the point sampling method, Level-2 Land Cover Maps, and forest aerial photographs (3rd and 4th series). The land use change matrix using the land cover map indicated that the annual change in area was the highest for forests and cropland; the cropland area decreased over time. We evaluated the uncertainty of the land use change matrix. Our results indicated that the forest land use, which had the most sampling, had the lowest uncertainty, while the grassland and wetlands had the highest uncertainty and the least sampling. The uncertainty was higher for the 4 km sampling intensity than for the 500 m sampling intensity, which indicates the importance of selecting the appropriate sample size when constructing a national land use change matrix.
